About the role 

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities team as our Office Assistant, reporting directly to the Facilities Manager.

The Office Assistant role within the Facilities team is a key post assisting the Facilities Manager in ensuring that the charity provides a warm welcome to all its employees, visitors and guests, ensuring they experience a safe and comfortable working environment. 

You will be the first point of contact at our office, responding to telephone and email queries that the charity receives, be a champion of our sustainability initiatives and a key support to the internal team with any office-related or facilities queries. You will also provide additional administrative support to our People & Culture team, ensuring job applicants have a positive recruitment experience and supporting the onboarding and welcome of new starters to the charity.

About you 

We are looking for an individual with an understanding of the key qualities of excellent customer service, who is able to demonstrate these with internal and external contacts and stakeholders. You will be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, and be able to adapt your tone when communicating with different audiences.

You will have a high level of attention to detail, be highly organised, and able to prioritise tasks, to ensure completion of deadlines. You will work in a timely and efficient manner to respond to enquiries in line with our processes and procedures.

We are looking for someone with high levels of self-motivation, and you will be proactive across all elements of your work, with a willingness to keep learning and finding new ways to add value. You will have a passion for the work we do and be committed to the Help Musicians cause.

You will be required to work from our London office 5 days per week.

As our research and insight manager, you will develop the Students’ Union’s insight function. Embedding better use of data will inform more effective decision-making, planning, policy and campaigning. As our National Face-to-Face Fundraising Manager, you will set the standard for brilliant, effective fundraising putting our supporters are at the heart of everything we do. In this role, you will:

• Drive the success of our face-to-face agency program, meeting and exceeding KPIs and targets through effective management of stakeholders.
• Manage budget allocation and optimization across channels, ensuring resources are utilized efficiently.
• Lead the implementation of compliance and safeguarding programs, maintaining the highest standards.
• Support delivery of our innovative fundraiser engagement program, optimizing performance and motivation.

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Experience of managing the delivery of end-to-end face-to-face fundraising activity or campaigns and teams.
• An in-depth understanding of the F2F landscape and different agency models.
• Experience of designing and delivering exceptional training to drive engagement.
• Knowledge and experience of the compliance environment for charity marketing.
• Experience of managing large budgets.
• Ability to analyse, interpret & explain results with a focus and drive on results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ways of Working:

The Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) is the leader in the field of sexual and reproductive healthcare, and we are the voice for healthcare professionals working at the frontline of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (SRH) in a range of settings in the community and primary care. Our members include SRH specialists, GPs, nurses, midwives and pharmacists.

This role plays an integral part in helping produce and develop the outputs of the External Affairs team, while advising on FSRH strategic issues where appropriate. The activity of the role is focussed on the management of FSRH’s external-facing media and social media functions, whilst playing a key role in communicating FSRH’s advocacy ambitions. The role also works with other internal Departments to develop and execute internal and corporate communications.

This role will also benefit from working closely with a Senior Media Consultant who will help upskill the role during 2024/25, providing an excellent learning opportunity.

Role Overview

As a member of the Supporter Engagement Team no two days will be the same. You will be essential in helping us improve the lives of those living with Crohn's and Colitis by offering fantastic supporter service and ensuring our members and fundraisers feel valued and keen to continue to support!

The Supporter Engagement Officer plays a pivotal role in achieving this. By taking a lead in the day to day management of the income processing and membership arm of the team ensuring all income is processed quickly and accurately and supporters are thanked efficiently.

About You

You will have experience of working in a similar role, providing a high standard of customer care in a fast-paced environment, handling supporter queries and providing information in a concise and comprehensive manner.

You will be experienced in supervising staff or volunteers and be an effective and approachable networker with a proved track record of building excellent relations with all stakeholders, using high levels of tact and sensitivity when needed.

You'll need strong written and verbal skills and the ability to adapt your style depending on the audience. You'll also be effective at managing challenging situations and competing priorities.

You will have the ability to manage a busy workload and deadlines whilst taking ownership of problems to find a solution where possible, escalating to a manager where required. 

You will also have experience of working with databases to produce reports and insights, as well as the managing the handling of cash and finance processes.

Experience of Microsoft office is essential, as well as high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Community Rail Network is a not-for-profit organisation, working across Britain, supporting a growing ‘community rail’ movement, which helps communities get the most from their railways, promotes sustainable and inclusive travel, coordinates volunteering and place-making, and brings people together.

Community rail is made up of 75 community-based partnership organisations, and around 1,200 station friends volunteer groups and other community-led initiatives around Britain. Their activities range from creative projects for young people, to advising train operators on service improvements, to building travel confidence with families and disabled people, to biodiversity projects at stations, to promoting greener travel and tourism by rail.

Our enthusiastic staff team of 22 people works mainly from home in different locations, but we come together regularly in person and online. We work collaboratively to advise our members, provide training, events and resources, run campaigns, and champion community rail and its insights via decision-makers and the media. About this role

The purpose of this role is to provide support and advice to community rail partnerships and groups on delivering maximum benefit within and with their communities, working collaboratively with the railways and wider partners. The role will support our members across an area covering the West Midlands, Central England and East Anglia, so it is desirable for you to be based in this area.

You’ll be comfortable engaging and advising local groups and communities to extend existing and set up new initiatives, and to reach wider audiences with an evidence-led, place-based approach. As well as supporting local groups, you’ll work closely with the rail industry, and wider third and public sector partners to ensure collaboration and shared success.
 

Main responsibilities

1. Provide direct support and advice to CRPs and their officers, and other community rail groups in the region. This includes responding to queries and requests, passing on specialist queries to other members of the team, and providing proactive support through an annual planning and accreditation process and as set out in our plans.

2. Support the development of skills, confidence and effectiveness across the network of CRPs and station groups, helping them to increase their positive social, environmental and economic impact, including through referral to our training, events and resources.

3. Support the development of emerging community rail partnerships, station friend groups and community-led stations and railway-related projects in the region.

4. Helping our members to work effectively with rail, transport, local government and community partners, supporting effective relationship building and showing positive leadership and insights on community rail within the region.

5. Work with our regions support manager on delivery and monitoring of our grant schemes, and support CRPs and groups in the region to apply, deliver successfully and report back on funded work.

6. Gather and share examples, feedback and insights from our members across the region, to facilitate best practice sharing and confidence across community rail and to feed into our communications, resources, events and public affairs work.

7. As a member of the Community Rail Network team, participate and contribute to our wider work as relevant, such as Community Rail Week, our annual conference and Awards.

Skills, competencies and experience

1. Skills in supporting community engagement projects; an understanding of and confidence in using community engagement, local communications, project planning and evaluation techniques

2. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently with stakeholders at all levels and facilitate positive discussion; articulate and assertive

3. Excellent writing and presentational skills

4. Awareness of sustainable transport and social inclusion, and an appreciation of the importance of rail, sustainable travel and mobility to communities

5. A demonstrable ability to manage time effectively and juggle a range of activities in an organised and professional manner. 

6. Proactive, positive and self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and inspire and enthuse others, and overcome hurdles to achieve results.

7. IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, the internet and social media

This is a permanent position and includes a probationary period of three months from the date of appointment. Successful applicants will need to provide proof that they have the right to work in the UK and provide two references.

Other information

The community rail support officer reports to our regions support manager within the Support and Development team. This is a new position, expanding our small team.

The role is 3.5-4 days per week (25.9 to 29.6 hours) with a degree of flexibility and out-of-hours working (evenings and weekends). It is home-based, but with regular travel (including occasional overnight stays) across your region and occasionally beyond for member meetings and events and to take part in our wider national activity. Applicants will need local access to a train station to enable rail-based travel for work as needed, including good links across the Midlands and East of England.

About the role

We are seeking a Learning and Development Manager to work with the Director of Partnerships and Federation Development to develop an ambitious learning and development strategy for Emmaus UK.

As a hands-on Learning & Development Manager, you will play a critical role in developing the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of employees, companions, volunteers and trustees across the Emmaus Federation and within Emmaus UK.

Your primary focus will be on developing and delivering effective learning interventions, programs and initiatives that align with the goals of Emmaus and support the growth and development of its people.

You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and development of employees, companions, volunteers and trustees, contributing to a positive learning culture, and supporting the overall success of the federation. Your role will involve supporting the development and delivery of strategic plans, programme design and implementation, stakeholder management, and continuous evaluation and improvement of learning initiatives.

This role is home-based, with some travel required across the UK.

We are looking for a high-performing Learning and Development Manager, with experience working in a learning and development role, including experience of delivering training in-person and online to a range of stakeholders.

The successful applicant will be able to deliver effective and engaging learning and development programmes and will have experience of identifying and analysing learning and development needs, developing relevant approaches and evaluating effectiveness, developing a strong culture of continuous improvement across Emmaus UK and the wider federation.
