About the role
The Marketing Lead (Membership and Events) is responsible for leading on the marketing activities for the Association’s income generating products and services, including member recruitment, member retention and educational events.
Working with teams across the whole organisation, the post-holder will play a vital role in devising and delivering impactful and joined-up campaigns, while ensuring that our members are at the heart of everything that we do.
Key responsibilities include:
- Devising and delivering marketing plans for membership recruitment in line with the Association’s new member value proposition and growth targets
- Delivering the communications plans for subscription renewals
- Reviewing and improving the onboarding journey for new members
- Supporting the development of the Association’s website
- Devising and delivering a marketing strategy for educational events and conferences

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our team. This role provides dedicated administrative and coordination support to two specialist societies - The British Maternal and Fetal Medicine Society (BMFMS) and The British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG).
The postholder is employed by the RCOG but serves these independent Societies, working closely with their respective officer teams. While reporting to the Membership team at RCOG, day-to-day activities involve direct collaboration with the Societies’ leadership.
The post holder is required to provide 14 hours a week for the BMFMS and nine hours a week for BSUG. This will be spread across three seven hour days based in the RCOG office or working from home.
The overall objective is to provide an office/secretariat for BMFMS and BSUG and to be responsible for providing front line support for the societies, supporting Officers on specific projects, supporting the society committee meetings, managing enquiries, tracking and reporting on finances (for BMFMS) and managing the day to day running of the office/secretariat.

Key responsibilities

The Landscape Institute are looking to recruit a Branch & Membership Engagement Officer.
Reporting directly to the Membership Services Manager the key focus of this exciting new role will be to support and deliver the LI’s engagement with our members. The role’s main objective is to maintain our members’ positive experience they get form the LI and make sure they are getting all that they can out of the LI’s products and services, whichever their grade of membership.
You will support and develop our regional Branches and help maintain mutually supportive links between their engagement activities and the Institute. The postholder will be the key point of contact for our volunteers, as well as help with the membership operations delivery.

Job Purpose
As Project Manager for the BSR registers you will ensure the continued success of BSR’s biologics and biosimilars registers and support BSR’s Registers and Research Committee. This role requires someone who is highly organised with a keen eye for detail, strong financial and commercial acumen, and the ability to develop relationships with stakeholders from across a range of different sectors.
About the BSR registers: The BSR registers are a vital source of rheumatology data, which we encourage the rheumatology community to access and analyse for research purposes. BSR’s three active patient registers covering rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis are open for recruitment. Our ankylosing spondylitis register, although closed for recruitment, is available to access for academic research and is contributing data to research questions coming out of the EuroSpA research collaboration.
Main Responsibilities
Management of the BSR registers
- Hold overall responsibility for management of the BSR registers including all legal, contractual and financial matters
- Work with BSR’s delivery partners and registers funders to ensure that contracts, protocols and other agreements are implemented, upheld and administered effectively
- With support from the Head of Publishing and Director of Practice and Quality, negotiate, agree and manage contractual agreements with partners and funders
- Proactively and diplomatically manage contractual and legal risks and issues as they arise
- Ensure the rights and obligations of the BSR (including intellectual property rights and patients’ data protection rights) are upheld and met
- Monitor emerging issues and changes to policy and regulatory frameworks that impact BSR registers, ensuring that colleagues and partners receive timely updates and that BSR responds promptly, ethically, and transparently
Relationship Management and Communications
- Develop and maintain strong and productive relationships with BSR’s delivery partners and funders
- Support the delivery partners to maximise recruitment to the BSR registers
- Oversee and facilitate communications about the registers between BSR, partners, funders and stakeholders
- Develop relationships with relevant stakeholders, including regulatory and oversight bodies
- Collaborate with BSR’s communications team to drive registers awareness and engagement and develop content for social media, website and member communications
- Collaborate with other BSR teams to ensure joined up working, share good practice and evidence
Management of BSR’s Registers and Research Committee
- Provide secretariat to the BSR Registers and Research Committee through organising three meetings per year, preparing agendas and papers, note and minute taking and managing the committee membership, working closely with BSR’s membership team
- Support the Committee to develop and deliver its workplan
Person Specification
- Experience in a programme or project management role
- Knowledge of the health care and/or life sciences sectors
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience of contract and supplier management
- Budget management and financial reporting skills
- Experience of managing complex stakeholder relationships, including partnerships
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure to deliver multiple projects with conflicting deadlines

The role:
Marketing strategy and planning
- Developing and leading marketing strategies that help the FSRH meet its strategic objectives.
- Input into the annual operational planning process to ensure that marketing activity is planned and budgeted.
- Cascading the marketing strategy into the production of cross-organisational marketing plans and budget which align to FSRH’s strategic objectives, plan, and budget.
- Being the visible face of FSRH’s marketing activity through regular attendance at meetings with key stakeholders, including relevant committees/Board of Council/Trustee meetings.

- Working with the Digital Manager and Data Manager to plan and implement updates and enhancements to the iMIS CRM processes and CMS webpages.
- Working with the Education and Training team to use the reporting from the Training Hub to help make decisions about future marketing for candidates/members.
- Ensure our activities are General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant data protection regulation complaint.
Staff management
- Line manage the Marketing and Communications Manager.
- Recruit and manage any temporary/contract staff.
Representing the FSRH
- Attending FSRH events to help staff stands, talking to members and prospective members.
- Speaking at events about the FSRH to audiences of members and prospective members.
- Support the Membership Engagement Team during busy periods as required.
- To feed into and support the improvement of processes and systems to support the continuous modernisation of day-to-day operations.
- To assist the CEO on specific campaigns providing and analysing data to grasp issues, draw conclusions and solve problems.
You will have:
- A relevant Degree or equivalent by experience
- Marketing/Communications qualification (e.g. CIM, CAM) (Desirable)
- Experience as a strategic thinker combined with an ability to demonstrate a practical hands-on approach
- An excellent approach to written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and proof-reading abilities
