Our new Finance Manager will develop, oversee and operate good financial management across all our activities. As our lead finance-focused staff member, they will undertake a lot of hands-on work, but will also take part in high-level shared decision making and financial planning. They will manage one part-time (0.3 FTE) Finance Administrator and work closely with the Executive Officer and the Area Meeting Treasurer (a voluntary role). You will be able to put your experience of adult education and learning into practice, by supporting the implementation of the Diocesan Strategy (Anti Racism Charter) through the establishment of a racial justice training pathway and the creation of racial justice resources that can be accessed and utilised across the Diocese by Diocesan staff, parishes, and schools.  

This will include:

• Evaluating our current Unconscious Bias training programme and implement the lessons learned. 
• Delivering racial justice training to parishes and Diocesan staff, particularly Unconscious Bias training.
• Develop the “Train the Trainers” approach and support the training of parish leaders and diocesan staff in becoming racial justice training trainers
• Identify training and resources needs for a variety of stakeholders
• Research and identify new models to be incorporated into a training pathway including in the areas of theology, power, privilege and prejudice.
• Liaise with other Dioceses and the National Church to learn from and seek best practice for racial justice training content and delivery.
• Work with other members of the department to establish a coordinated training programme that offers both face-to-face training and eLearning. 
• Develop and maintain an evaluation process for training, including the development of impact indicators. 
• Review existing racial justice resources and produce/commission the development of new resources that can be used both locally and national, such as toolkits, cultural occasional offices guide, liturgical resources and school-aged resources for young people and leaders.
• Be an advocate for Racial Justice within Diocesan structures, identifying and promoting best practice regarding racial justice, diversity, and inclusion.

You’ll be working with the local church to manage the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme
• Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room
• Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively
• Handling safeguarding
• Taking a lead on rating the work readiness of the trainees and making sure data is inputted and used correctly on salesforce
• Tracking trainee progress on the dashboards
• Liaising with volunteers for key programme engagement events such as mock interviews and external panels. Leading on briefings and communications with these volunteers

Delivery of Spear Career [20%]

• Delivering weekly Spear Career sessions (including running workshops with past Trainees), maintaining records and reporting on statistics, and creatively developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees

Training the Graduate Coach [10%]

• Contributing towards the training and developing of the Graduate Coach by modelling excellent coaching and giving regular feedback

Trainee recruitment [10%]

• Developing relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme. This involves liaising with referral agencies, active face-to-face recruitment and monitoring recruitment statistics

Continuous professional development

• Continually engaging in professional development, including being part of Resurgo’s wider coaching programmes and possibly supporting on leading internal training such as Grad Coach Training

Active participation in and support for church team and mission

• As the Spear programme is run in partnership with a local church partner, you will establish a strong personal connection with the church to develop the engagement and backing of church members and help build a strong network of supporters for the Spear programme. As part of this you may be asked to speak at church/events and contribute to prayer meetings as per Resurgo’s Christian ethos and the mission of the church

We require a Counsellor to provide counselling interventions and family support services in schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.

The role requires you to liaise and work with parents and families to ensure that the child/young person’s needs are being met and any issues that arise are being addressed appropriately. This will also include providing support and guidance to school staff on these matters.

You must have knowledge of safeguarding guidelines and risk factors in relation to working with children and young people and be able to respond accordingly by following the locality safeguarding procedures and ensure that priority is given to the Safeguarding Policy and Procedures in all work undertaken. You must also support the school staff with safeguarding.

You must have competent IT skills, be confident with systems, complete reports, maintain records and manage confidential data and be able to review and obtain feedback on the support in place for the children and young people and provide this information back to the schools and Caritas Schools’ Service as required.

You must also be able to make autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice and approaches and partake in supervision one to one, clinical and group reflective supervision with other counsellors. 

Registered counsellor status with the BACP or UKCP is essential. However, we will discuss experience and qualifications on a person-by-person basis if you are selected for an interview.  The salary includes accrued annual leave.

• Work with the programme co-ordinator and additional administrative support to deliver the SLDP discernment process from initiation to completion at the moderation panel and the subsequent communication of outcomes and feedback. Due to expanding projects and workloads, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator and Personal Assistant to the Senior Development Manager within our Transforming Churches and Communities (TCC) team.

You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to support the team in developing missional plans, project work and operational support for charities, communities and religious societies. We work predominantly with the Methodist Church of Great Britain, although not exclusively.

The Diocese of Guildford is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to serve as the Independent Chair of the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel.

The Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel (DSAP) plays a vital role in the mission and ministry of the Diocese of Guildford in challenging and championing a positive culture of safeguarding across our parishes, Cathedral, and worshipping communities.

The Panel provides oversight of safeguarding arrangements in the Diocese and provides  a source of independent advice, expertise, scrutiny and challenge on safeguarding strategy, policies and procedures.

As chair of the panel, you will work with a dedicated team of safeguarding experts, specialists and diocesan staff to ensure that the DSAP discharges its role of advising the Bishop of Guildford, the Diocesan Board of Finance and other senior leaders on the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.

The ideal candidate will:

· Have extensive professional safeguarding and leadership experience.

· Hold an Academic or professional qualification in social or health care, police, education or legal discipline.

Housekeeper/cleaner of Euphrasie Barbier Convent (EBC) and other premises on the Sturry site in Kent

Purpose of the role:  The sisters of our Lady of the Missions are looking for an experienced person to become their Housekeeper to ensure the smooth running of their community house based in Sturry, Kent, for the safety and well-being of the community of Religious sisters who reside there.

To oversee and undertake cleaning and housekeeping duties in the community house and other premises on the site in Sturry, including the chapel and archives, and to supervise the cooks and a cleaner who is employed for 15 hours per week.

Main duties and responsibilities:

· To work in conjunction with housekeeping staff and cooks in order to create a continuous supportive and effective team for the benefit of sisters, providing cover for staff as necessary

· To provide a presence in the house and to be the contact person for external visitors

· To answer the door and phone as appropriate to all external callers asking for identity as appropriate

· To look after visitors, welcoming them, providing refreshments, and to attend to all of those who call during the hours while on duty

· To undertake weekly online food ordering and shopping for food items required by the sisters during the week which may have been missed from the weekly online food order

· To be the contact with outside agencies if any appliances need servicing or replacing

· To ensure that appliances are maintained and cleaned regularly and to enter into service contracts after having discussed this with the finance officer on site

· To ensure that any regular maintenance required to fulfil health and safety requirements is carried out routinely and all records are kept

· To liaise with the care manager in St Anne’s care home regarding any maintenance needs that can be undertaken by the on-site maintenance officer who works mainly for the care home

· To help sisters who request assistance with making and changing their beds and helping them with personal washing of clothes and bed linen (This can be done in conjunction with the cleaner)

· To ensure that all that all bins are emptied and cleaned by housekeeping staff and as much as possible is recycled

· To supervise and the cooks who are employed and help them if there is a large group for dinner (such as for funerals or jubilee celebrations), providing cover in their absence

· To ensure that spare bedrooms are cleaned and prepared when visitors are expected, and that they are cleaned and maintained regularly

· To facilitate any sisters’ request for help with travel to, or attendance at, medical appointments and accompany as required

· To ensure cars are maintained including MOT requirements and liaise with the Finance Officer and Maintenance Operative.

· To work within the budget agreed by the Sisters and Finance Office and ensure all records and receipts are kept.

Person Specification:

Role Purpose

To create and maintain an effective wholistic service to the Community of 9 Religious Sisters resident in a single property in Colchester.

To establish and maintain effective services and standards including administration and record keeping, for the individual Sisters and for the smooth running and upkeep of the house.

To ensure healthcare assessments of Sisters needs are undertaken and that direct payments for their care are negotiated with the local authority, together with any further allowances to which they are entitled.

To and create a warm, comfortable and safe environment for the Sisters, offering flexibility and a range of support and care, enabling them to live their lives as safely, comfortably and independently as they can, with staff in place to support them.

To liaise with the Sisters in the Community and to work alongside them in creating and maintaining a happy, safe and welcoming home which provides high levels of support and care.

Principal Duties:

A Health and Wellbeing:  Main tasks

 · appointing, leading, training and co-ordinating a team of carers to provide adequate and appropriate 24/7 care

· preparing staff rotas and leading staff meetings as and when needed.

· facilitating the health and wellbeing of the sisters as requested by:

o Making health related appointments and driving/arranging transport for Sisters to and from such appointments.

o Accompanying residents to appointments and undertaking hospital visits as required, in agreement with the Community. Or allocating another carer to do the same

o Arranging for visits from medical and health professional visits (eg: District nurses, care staff, Physiotherapy etc.) as required.

o  ensuring Sisters who are unwell are provided with meals in their rooms if required

o sitting with Sisters and read to them and help with email and personal correspondence, if requested.

o Being aware of any changing needs and circumstances in Sister’s health and wellbeing and agree and arrange for additional support to meet the particular needs of the Sisters.

o As requested, providing additional personal support to a Sister who may have a health concern requiring additional help. This might on occasion, include some help with dressing and personal care.

o helping the Sisters with use of technology as requested including helping with emails and finding things online.

o encouraging and assisting those community members who want to be involved in gardening or any other activity.

B In conjunction with the Community Operations manager:

· To ensure that high levels of cleanliness are maintained, working with the contract cleaners.

· To liaise with the individuals providing those services if any changes or additional tasks are required.

· To understand and assist with all health and safety requirements and statutory obligations, in relation to the buildings and contents of the premises.

· To act on and record any accidents and safety concerns in a timely manner.

C Domestic needs: 

· To assist with the Sisters’ laundry as and when they require it.

· To ensure all curtains and bedlinen are cleaned and replaced when needed, as agreed by the Sisters.

· To ensure household equipment is maintained in accordance with legislation and needs and discuss and agree any replacement or additional equipment when required.

D Meals

· to employ and oversee kitchen/cooking staff as needed to ensure all meal and dietary requirements are met

· To undertake shopping for household requirements where required.

· To set up online shopping for the Sisters, liaising with them about their needs and helping them with this.

E General

· To facilitate the best use of the building for the Sister’s welfare and undertake practical tasks in relation to this as required.

· To ensure cover for all services is provided at all times and that the community is aware of any cover arrangements.

· To assist with the organisation of occasional events and funerals at the request of the Sisters.

· If requested, to make arrangements for refreshments for individuals, groups and meetings.

Saint Paul’s is a dynamic church at the centre of our capital city, London. We have a vision to Encounter God and Awaken the City. Our desire is to become a white-hot centre of faith, where people can meet with God and learn what it means to be empowered by His Spirit in their everyday lives. We inspire our congregation to see God’s Kingdom come here on earth as it is in heaven, wherever He has called them to live, work and play their part in awakening our city with the good news of Jesus. If we have any particular emphasis after being a community who honour and seek God’s presence, it’s to empower the emerging generation as we pass on the baton of faith and raise up disciples who will lead and influence in every sphere of society.

Our Youth Ministry has grown over the past two years, and we have a strong team of volunteers who enjoy serving and leading. Our Sunday morning youth groups see up to 40 teenagers each week, with Friday nights gathering 20-25 at the moment. At our 5pm service we often see 40-60 teenagers attending – many of whom don’t attend any of the other groups (yet!). We are seeing young people with a confidence to invite friends and share their faith, and anticipate a season of growth ahead.

We’re surrounded by secondary schools, with a huge potential for mission and chaplaincy. We have strong links with Onelife who are based at Saint Paul’s, the HTB network and Stewards Trust. We also have a SPEAR centre at Saint Paul’s where we run up to 6 programmes a year helping young people who face a variety of challenges to accessing employment.

Overall purpose of the role

As our Youth Pastor, you will be part of the Emerging Generations team, which is currently in a fun and exciting position of rebuilding and pioneering a new way of ministry for our Kids, Youth &  Students.

We’re looking for someone with a clear sense of calling to develop our vision to see many young people come to know Jesus. You’ll need a proven track record of shaping a growing youth ministry, equipping young people to become disciples who lead and influence the world around them.

We’ll give you space to pioneer projects which ensure the spiritual, mental, emotional, and relational health of young people. Recognising and releasing gifted volunteers and teams will be essential if we are to continue seeing the momentum that has been building.

You will be part of a passionate and growing staff team who are committed to seeing God’s presence transforming lives. We have a high value for worship and prayer, the team are always seeking God’s direction in the next steps of the church. You will play an essential part in the team in advising and championing the work we are able to do to see the next generation come alive in Jesus!

Main Responsibilities of the Role

· Communicate and inspire the vision of Saint Paul’s Hammersmith to our youth (11-18 years).

· Grow a healthy and spiritually mature youth ministry through cultivating both one-to-one and group relationships.

· Develop a mentoring/discipleship network for young people to be spiritually supported in their faith journey.

· Create and deliver a plan of mission to meet the needs of local unchurched young people, with a particular vision to build strong relationships with local schools, and maximise opportunities of connecting with SPEAR.

· Innovate, plan, and execute youth events and activities in collaboration with strong volunteer teams.

· Lead, equip and develop the volunteer youth team, offering spiritual guidance and practical training, ensuring they are well supported to facilitate all that is required of them in the youth ministry and beyond.

· Build good relationships with parents, helping them to understand the work of SPH Youth as well as connect and support each other in discipling their teenagers.

· Ensure SPH youth is a safe space for all young people and team, following up on DBS checks and safeguarding training and policies.

Experience

· Good experience of working with young people, with a demonstration of how they have grown in their discipleship.

· A track record of recruiting and building committed volunteer teams.

· Excellent communication skills to mobilise and encourage youth, volunteers and parents.

· A passion to reach, connect with and disciple young people. Someone who has a strong desire to share the Gospel and see salvation amongst young people in West London. 

· Knowledge of and a passion for growing young leaders who will be inspired to lead across every sphere of society.

· A strong verbal communicator, preferably with experience in preaching and teaching in a church context.

· Able to work across communities and build relationships with a diversity of youth and their families. 

· Competent in organisation and administration to ensure activities and events can be planned and executed in an efficient way.

· An understanding of safeguarding and how to keep young people and vulnerable adults safe. 

General

· Play an active role in the pastoral and missional leadership of the church.

· Understand, demonstrate, and enable Saint Paul’s Hammersmith’s vision and values to be demonstrated in action.

· Operate as a team player demonstrating willingness to work within a ministry team.

· Comply with Saint Paul’s Policies, Procedures and guidelines and data protection requirements. Seek clarification as required.

· Ensure all information relating to teams, staff, volunteers, children/youth is treated with the utmost care and discretion in terms of personal data and integrity.

· Annual salary of £27 - £31k depending on experience

· 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays

Working Requirements

• Proof of right to work in the UK according to UK Legislation.

• Days of work: 35 hours per week, Sunday – Thursday and Friday evenings.

• This post carries a genuine occupational requirement that the holder be a practising Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.
