About the Charity
The Environment Investigation Agency investigate and campaign against environmental crime and abuse. Their undercover investigations expose transnational wildlife crime, with a focus on elephants and tigers, and forest crimes such as illegal logging and deforestation for cash crops like palm oil. The EIA work to safeguard global marine ecosystems by addressing the threats posed by plastic pollution, bycatch and commercial exploitation of whales, dolphins and porpoises. Finally, EIA aims to reduce the impact of climate change by campaigning to eliminate powerful refrigerant greenhouse gases, exposing related illicit trade and improving energy efficiency in the cooling sector.
About the Role
This is an exciting time to join EIA as the fundraising team grows. As the Philanthropy Manager, you will lead on the development and delivery of a new philanthropy programme, which includes developing tailored stewardship programmes for High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs), expanding the donor base through effective prospecting and cultivation, and working with campaign teams to develop donor funding propositions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Head of Fundraising to shape and grow this integral income stream, drawing on your robust philanthropy fundraising experience and applying your dynamic approach to engage prospective partners and develop existing relationships.
About you
You will have significant experience in identifying and cultivating relationships with high-value supporters and securing gifts. You will have experience of developing and communicating high-value propositions and writing compelling cases for support. You will have Strong verbal communication and networking skills and be confident in communicating effectively and passionately with supporters, team members across EIA and senior stakeholders. Ideally, you will also have experience in planning stewardship events for HNWIs.

The Role
As our Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will build and sustain our major gifts programme, driving our income stream and ensuring our work can continue.

Global Greengrants Fund comprises two organisations located in the USA, Global Greengrants Fund Inc (established in 1993), and Global Greengrants Fund UK (established in 2012). The role
Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in establishing and developing Global Greengrants Fund UK’s offering to individual donors to be able to make gifts of £100,000 annually, in order to secure significant unrestricted income for the organisation.
GGF UK has a small portfolio of existing high net worth individual (HNWI) supporters but is currently primarily reliant on income from trusts and foundations. The post holder will join the organisation at a time of very significant growth and will be expected to be able to work autonomously to build out a new income stream with significant potential to diversify our revenue and strengthen the organisation’s support to grassroots environmental justice movements.
Working as part of the Philanthropic Partnerships team and reporting to the Director of Philanthropic Partnerships, the postholder will also collaborate closely with colleagues across the global organisation Global Greengrants Fund, particularly within the Programmes, Communications, and Development teams towards realising organisational aims.
The candidate profile
The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, and/or grant-making organisation. They will be an experienced, senior-level fundraiser with a track record of securing and developing successful relationships with HNWIs to achieve ambitious income goals. They will have extensive experience in developing pitches, proposals, and fundraising products; and a strong interest in environmental justice, international development or human rights issues. They will have an extensive knowledge of the funding and philanthropy sectors in the UK and Europe; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and be confident in engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including at senior levels. They should also have excellent interpersonal understanding, relationship-building, stewardship, and conceptual skills to build strong alliances with diverse constituencies and manage complex politics, positioning, and relationships. They also thrive in a virtual environment and are motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions.

About the Role

Role summary
You’ll be raising funds primarily for School Plates, the flagship UK programme, to help school menus to become healthier and more planet-friendly by increasing the quality, quantity, and uptake of plant-based food.
The programme is growing rapidly. Now working with 70 major school caterers feeding over 1 million children daily, we’ve roughly doubled our reach in each of the last two years. With a new educational programme to teach children about their food choices launching this year, and our School Plates Awards and Global Plant-based School Food Network both expanding considerably, there is a need to significantly grow our income.
The role is primarily a combination of major donor and corporate fundraising to complement our existing trusts and foundations fundraising.
