We support them in various ways, including through grants of over £2m per year supporting them to run hospitals, clinics, schools and centres for people with disabilities. Our work and the work of our Christian partners in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Palestine and Iraq provide support services for refugees, enable women's empowerment, work for community development and offer emergency humanitarian relief. About the role
We are seeking to recruit a Programmes, Partnerships & Advocacy Officer to join our team on a fixed-term basis. This role involves supporting Embrace’s Programme, Partnerships and Advocacy team to manage relationships with a portfolio of local partner organisations, churches, and stakeholders to bring hope and lasting change to some of the poorest and most marginalised people living in the Middle East. Walking and working with them as they deliver high-impact programmes to benefit communities in need of assistance supporting them in their work; encouraging and advocating for local Christian organisations on issues of justice and inclusion in the Middle East.
Main responsibilities include:
- Providing programme support to Embrace’s Programme Managers (PMs) with a particular focus on supporting the PM responsible for managing Embrace’s partner and programme portfolio for Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories (IoPt).
- Assisting with the planning and implementation of Embrace’s advocacy campaigns.
- Coordinating the supply and transfer of information from partners to communication and fundraising colleagues.
- Providing admin and data support for the whole team.
- Supporting the Charity in every way possible to fulfil its vision and charitable aims.
This role is a great opportunity for someone keen to develop their transferable skills and increase their international development and programmatic interest and experience, whilst contributing in a supporting role to Embrace’s Programme, Partnerships and Advocacy team.
To be successful in this role, candidates will:
- Understand the work of Embrace the Middle East and share the Charity’s vision and mission.
- Bring experience and/or interest of grant management – including Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning.
- Have excellent knowledge/experience of using Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Have excellent organisational and administrative skill, and experience of working in a team support role.
- Have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Be self-motivated and able to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
- Be flexible in a multi-task environment and keen to offer a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Have an awareness of the context, dynamics, and challenges of working in the Middle East.

Age UK's Telephone Friendship Service is recruiting for 3 Friendship Coordinator's to join our growing team!
Loneliness is a major issue that is now widely recognised in society today, particularly amongst older people. By scheduling weekly calls from our trained volunteers, Age UK's National Telephone Friendship Service provides older people with a chance to make a new friend from the comfort of their home.
As a Friendship Coordinator, you will play a vital role in coordinating and supporting the thousands of matches between our members and volunteers across the UK. Whether you are answering emails and calls, ensuring safeguarding measures are upheld or supporting members and volunteers through the onboarding processes, you will be helping to ensure this much needed service reaches those who need it most, in a safe and efficient manner.
Utilising your excellent customer service skills, you will be the first port of call to support our volunteers and older members - so you'll need to be comfortable spending a lot of time on the phone and communicating by email. You'll also need to be passionate about supporting older people and have a good understanding of older people's needs.
This role can either be based at our office in Blackpool, or in Ashburton Devon. We offer a hybrid model of home and office based-working, so you will need to be within a reasonable distance of either the Blackpool or Devon office and be willing to travel there regularly.
You will work a 35-hour working week, 5 days out of 7 with start and end times between 8am and 6pm. It will include weekend and bank holiday shifts, which will be arranged on a rota basis.

About the Role
Community Connectors work as part of an integrated, blended mental health offer to support people with emotional, social and practical needs to access a range of local, non-medical and non-clinical services, to improve confidence, social inclusion and independence.
This role will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with statutory, third sector and NHS colleagues to support clients who are suffering from moderate to severe mental health difficulties. You will need to have experience working with those suffering with mental health illness as well as being able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of the services, support networks and local resources that may assist in improved outcomes for those dealing with complex and enduring mental health issues. The ability to be adaptable, work independently and the resilience to work in some challenging environments are key attributes for this role.

We are at a critical moment in world history; a moment of profound spiritual, economic and social crisis in the UK and across the world – with opportunity for a radical, spiritual renewal. In the last half of 2022, CWR and 24-7 Prayer came together to create a new vision at Waverley Abbey for such a time of this.
The 112-acre Waverley Abbey Estate, located about an hour from London, Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, has been a place of prayer since 688 AD and was the site of England’s first Cistercian Abbey.
CWR was founded by Selwyn Hughes with a simple vision of helping people to spend Every Day with Jesus – to pray and study the Bible every day. In 1985, CWR opened the Waverley Abbey Estate to establish a place of prayer, retreat and a Christian College to train and equip young leaders. 24-7 Prayer is an international, interdenominational movement of prayer, mission and justice. 24-7 Prayer exists to revive the Church and rewire the culture. We are looking for a Centre Coordinator to join our team in our Newcastle Centre on a permanent basis. In this role, you will provide a warm and welcoming reception for young people, staff, and visitors over the phone and in person, so if you are approachable, passionate, and non-judgemental, this could be your role.
You will indirectly support young people by ensuring that our Centre operates safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for managing delivery space, facilities compliance and controlling office equipment and supplies. Having previous administrative experience is beneficial but not essential.
To be successful in this role, you must have a good understanding of the challenges young people within our target groups face, to assist them when they arrive in our Centre. In this role no two days are the same, you get to be involved with many different functions of the Trust and interact with everyone who works in the Centre, this is why planning and organisation skills are a must.

About the Project
Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver support in the Mental Health Urgent Care Centre (MHUCC) at Lister Hospital.
The MHUCC provides a dedicated space and service for rapid mental health assessment, intervention, and referral, thereby enhancing the quality of care and optimising use of systemwide resources. It provides 24-hour access to specialist mental health assessment aimed at supporting service users to access the least restrictive care and treatment options. It creates a systemwide response to acute mental health crisis that enables people’s needs to be met with the right care at the right time.
About the Role:
The Support, Time and Recovery (STAR) Worker will be based at the Mental Health Urgent Care Centre at Lister Hospital, promoting joint working and creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.
The STAR workers will work closely with individuals in a mental health crisis currently in the MHUCC, by using a person-centred approach to ensure that everyone is supported with dignity and respect.
You will have a key role with safe and supportive observations and attending to the service users on the unit. You will provide support for carers and liaise with the wider services to support smooth and timely discharge of service users back to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a consistent presence in the MHUCC for individuals with mental health needs to access for support.
- To advocate for service users, explaining organisations and pathways.
- To provide immediate information and advice about managing wellbeing, reducing risk and onward signposting and referral into wider HMN services and VCFSE organisations.
- To facilitate a clear and easily accessible pathway into the wider Nightlight Crisis Alternative services for individuals, to support timely MHUCC discharge, as an alternative to statutory crisis intervention, or as a supplement to wider care and treatment plans.
- To gather feedback and evaluation on patient experience in the MHUCC
- To develop sound and extensive knowledge of local resources to support in enabling appropriate referrals where necessary.
- To link in with wider Herts Mind Network services and facilitate referrals
- To ensure that a collaborative approach is used, with effective communication links developed with external professional NHS services and to work as an effective member of any multi-disciplinary team. This will require stringent relationships.
- To support individuals to develop sustainable local social networks, both through our HMN Wellbeing Centres and other community services and resources.

The Role
As our Retail Support Manager, you will provide management cover at retail locations as required by the charity. - Lead a team of volunteers to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
- Deliver any volunteer training required and make every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment.
- Responsible for volunteer training and engagement, ensuring the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date in the absence of the Shop Manager.
- Ensure there is management cover and sufficient volunteers to operate all trading hours.
- Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received).
- Responsible for ensuring accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes at each location.
- Prepare and complete all shop administration including cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to charity policy and procedures at each location.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
