World Obesity Federation is seeking an Events Coordinator to join their team as maternity cover.
World Obesity Federation (WOF) is a worldwide federation with over 100 members and takes a holistic view of obesity from cause and prevention to treatment. WOF is a lead partner to global agencies on obesity, including WHO, and a member of the Global Obesity Coalition.
This position will begin assisting the Events Manager with the events programme and continue as maternity cover in 2025. Main responsibilities will include managing the educational events programme including in person obesity management training courses ‘Scope Schools’ as part of the SCOPE e-learning site held regularly throughout the year, and monthly educational webinars, alongside the Head of Education.
Also working with Head of Policy on medium sized events such as the Global Obesity Forum in person in New York in September 2025, and other smaller policy and fundraising meetings throughout the year. Also included in the role is managing webinars for World Obesity Day and other campaign days.
It will also involve managing the planning of the bi-annual congress the International Congress on Obesity to be held in Mexico City June 2026, overseeing the work of the PCO and organising committees to ensure development is on schedule and key milestones are achieved.

About us:
At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, we care for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions. We support hundreds of families, both in our hospice and in family homes.
Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family; including overnight care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support groups, home visits and much, much more.
It costs around £6.5m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. Statutory funding makes up 16% of this amount and the rest is raised through fundraising activity.
Our services include overnight stays and community breaks at home or in the hospice. We also support the whole family from diagnosis with our multi-disciplinary Family Support team who provide counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy and much more. Our care team supports these families in our modern, purpose-built building. All our rooms/bedrooms have a homely feel. We have a sensory room, spa pool, cinema room and six acres of gardens.
We support families from a large geographical area, including South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. The hospice is easily accessible from Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and North Notts. We have free secure on-site parking for families and staff to use.

Purpose of Role
This role takes a data-led approach to maximising the impact of our communications to raise the profile of the organisation and achieving business outcomes through strategic communication and marketing efforts.
The role holder will work alongside the wider Communications & Campaigns team to deliver agreed GB-wide communications and manage nation-specific communications as part of an integrated and coordinated programme of communications.
The role holder has an innate connection and understanding of the Welsh context and can adapt and deliver national issues to local audiences, as well as bringing our work in Wales to a national audience across multiple channels.
Key responsibilities
Communications planning
- Work closely with the Ramblers Cymru team to stay abreast of projects and local issues.
- Work with the Strategic Communications Manager to lead a structured communications planning process that ensures key audiences are receiving timely communications in line with their needs, via appropriate channels (GB-wide or nation-specific). A key part of this process will be sequencing to ensure that audiences are not overwhelmed by multiple/fragmented messages.
- Work closely with the broader communications team to develop strategically aligned messaging and campaign assets for both GB-wide and nation-specific communications activities and advocacy campaigns.
Communications Delivery
- Project manage and deliver GB-wide and nation-specific communications activities across owned, earned and (where relevant) paid channels, including managing timeframes and budgets, mobilising other teams, seeking collaboration opportunities with external partners, setting and measuring KPIs
Channel management
- Work in partnership with the Member & Supporter Experience team and the broader communications team to plan and deliver GB-wide and nation-specific member and volunteer communications.
- Work in partnership with the Social & Community Officer to present aligned messaging to our audiences, to drive engagement with our posts and to grow the reach of our GB-wide and nation-specific social media channels.
- Work in partnership with the Website Officer to present aligned messaging to our audiences and to maximise the impact of our website and digital marketing to grow our supporter base.

Content Development
- Work in collaboration with the wider Communications & Campaigns team to source and produce communications materials and assets (photos, stories, videos, graphics etc) that can be used on GB-wide and nation-specific channels to help build the Ramblers brand and relevance to our target audiences
Data analysis and reporting:
- Monitor and analyse communications performance using key metrics and data insights.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to inform future campaigns and strategies.
Innovation and improvement:
- Apply data insights to shape and improve channel strategy and tactics, using a test-and-learn approach.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance campaign effectiveness.
- Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve campaign strategies.

The Person
Knowledge and Experience

A leading not-for-profit chartered membership body based in central London is seeking an immediately available Head of Finance for a 6 month fixed term contract role.
The organisation has around 18,000 members, with approximately 50 staff and a turnover of £5 million. Their members are internationally recognised quality management professionals, and the organisation provides an impressive array of membership services, events and qualifications to its members.
The interim Head of Finance role is full-time, with a salary of circa £80,000 per annum and the role is offered on a hybrid basis with somewhere between 1-3 days per week required onsite at the central London office. The role reports to the Executive Director of Corporate Services.
The organisation is currently operating without a Head of Finance, and they key deliverables for this interim role are:
- Leading on the audit prep and liaising with the auditors to ensure clean audit status in maintained (year-end is December)
- Contribute to the final production of the statutory accounts in co junction with the Financial Accountant
- Managing and motivating a small finance team of 4 – many of whom are new to the organisation
- Improve the core processes and productivity of the finance system (Business Central) and other related systems around reporting, expenses and payments
Requirements:
- Fully-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong evidence of managing and motivating a finance team
- Technically competent and ‘systems savvy’ with the ability to get the best out of finance systems
- Clear evidence and experience of the production of charity statutory accounts (SORP) and leading charitable organisations successfully through external audit
The role will also include elements of financial planning, financial control, annual budget setting, overseeing the production of management accounts produced by the management accountant, overseeing the fixed asset register and all tax issues and financial reporting.

What you will do:

ROLDA (Romanian League in Defence of Animals) is a small animal welfare charity working to improve the lives of dogs, cats, and other animals in Romania and internationally. Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Within our shelters, inspired by British kennel design and maintained to meet EU animal welfare standards, we can house up to 700 stray dogs at a time. Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. In addition to our efforts in rescuing and rehoming animals, ROLDA tackles the root cause of Romania's homeless animals through comprehensive neutering programmes and educational initiatives. As a Fundraising Manager at ROLDA, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing our fundraising strategy.
