Development Worker

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new initiative to support the development of a co-designed cross-borough and cross-organisation approach to volunteering that will ensure that health and care priorities are better supported by volunteering and that volunteers have a better experience. The programme is looking to adopt and share innovative safe and streamlined approaches to recruiting, supporting and deploying volunteers, including the development of a volunteer passport.

The role includes research and development; information gathering and mapping; stakeholder engagement and collaboration and progress reporting to a cross borough partnership, ensuring that equality, diversity and inclusion sits at the centre of this work.

This posts sits with Volunteer Centre Greenwich (VCG)  which is the lead independent agency on volunteering in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.VCG actively promotes volunteering to residents and its 700+ member organistions; promoting good practice and supporting organisations with volunteering through training and advice.

The successful postholder should be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, have excellent volunteer management skills and a good knowledge of effective research and mapping tools.
