We are looking for an experienced HR Adviser (Learning and Development) to provide support across a diverse portfolio of Learning and Development activities.  This includes being the go-to person for our Employee Development Programme, Corporate Induction, Employee Recognition Scheme and our appraisal scheme. 

Reporting into the HR Manager; this is a varied role that manages the commissioning, implementation and evaluation of all of our training activities and also provides support on more strategic projects where relevant.

The ideal candidate will be someone with substantial learning and development experience, gained either in an L&D focussed or generalist role.  With a positive and proactive approach, you will need to be confident working independently and autonomously to deliver great results.

Transport for All is looking for a Senior Research Officer to lead and facilitate a range of comprehensive research initiatives with various partners, including government, universities and charities.

You will support our work on Justice in Practice: where disabled people’s lived experience is meaningfully embedded, appropriately compensated, and responded to in the transport sector and beyond. We have a bold plan for the next five years and need someone who can support the team to deliver in line with our values.

You will be part of a unique, disabled-led research and training team who are dedicated to removing barriers to transport for disabled people. This role is focused on responding to the lived experience of our diverse community and using research and training to drive change. You will also oversee research projects, such as the National Accessibility Transport Survey and support the impact of Transport for All through high-quality analysis and reporting.

We're looking for someone with the values, skills and knowledge to lead our learning and development function for a fixed period that will include project, budget, team and people management, developing new programmes of learning, commissioning training, developing an annual training plan and developing current systems and processes.

About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for taking a group of schools, their pupils and volunteer tutors through the programme from start to finish, and for ensuring the programme genuinely makes a difference to those participating.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing different stakeholders to organise and facilitate impactful tuition sessions across London ensuring quality delivery.

• Manage other staff in specific projects designed to support the organisation in scaling over the next 1-3 years.

Events and Services Executive

Salary c. £27,000 – £32,000

The Talent Set is excited to partner with a values-driven membership association to recruit a temporary Events & Services Executive. This role will provide vital support to the team across event management and administrative services. The successful postholder will ensure that services provided are executed professionally and on time. This role involves working collaboratively with teams across the organisation to deliver exceptional services and events for existing and prospective customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and coordinate Training & Consultancy projects, liaising with trainers, venues, and providing online support.
• Manage and support events, including flagship, prospecting, and in-person non-member events.
• Provide administrative support to the Marketing, PR, and Communications team as needed.
• Administer the internal E-learning platform, supporting members with troubleshooting, and website registration

Person Specification:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with emotional intelligence and clarity.
• Strong data input and auditing skills, along with intermediate Excel proficiency and numeracy.
• Proven customer service skills, demonstrating a polite and professional demeanour, with effective problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with CRM systems, especially Salesforce, and managing events through platforms like Zoom and Teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and demonstrate sound judgment under pressure.

Our centres provide a high-impact education programme which includes practical learning support, pastoral care, and motivational and confidence-building activities for young people aged 7-18. As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping over 50,000 young people each year at its 43 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate to take up a fixed-term role as Centre Leader at our IntoUniversity centre in Kennington. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery. A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

Contract: Full-time, fixed-term until June 2025

Salary

£38,100 per annum (inclusive of £2,600 London contribution)

Eligibility for the role

In order to be eligible for the Centre Leader role, applicants will:

• Have completed an undergraduate degree to a 2.2 or higher.
• Have achieved a grade C/ grade 4 or higher in GCSE Maths and English/ achieved National 5s or Standard Grade at Credit level (grades 1-2) in Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Have EITHER a minimum of 18 months full-time paid experience working in a delivery role at IntoUniversity; OR a minimum of 2 years full-time paid or voluntary experience working with children and young people, either at IntoUniversity, or external organisations, or a combination of both. Please note that we will not take part-time, seasonal or ad-hoc work into account when calculating the length of full-time experience.
• Have the right to work in the UK (please note that as a charity we do not have the capacity to sponsor work visas).
• Be able to apply knowledge of F.E. and H.E. (e.g. UCAS applications) to help young people decide about their futures; and have knowledge of national developments in H.E. and their impact on young people traditionally underrepresented in H.E.
• Have experience of confidently negotiating with a variety of stakeholders, for example: head teachers, funders, universities.

What will my main dutires be?

To lead the staff team at the centre, generating a positive and inclusive working environment and ethos and ensuring that the team are well motivated, are managing their workloads effectively, and are providing a high quality service.

You will initially be involved in the set up of this brand new centre, including developing local school relationships and we anticipate that delivery of the IntoUniversity programmes will begin in the 2024 summer term.

To ensure that the ethos and values of the charity are maintained in the IntoUniversity centre.

To act as the Centre’s Designated Safeguarding Officer (full training and support will be provided to become the Designated Safeguarding Officer). To create and oversee relationships with local education providers.

To oversee the successful delivery of our educational programme at the centre using positive behaviour management and adhering to the IntoUniversity safeguarding policy. 

Please note: that there will be times throughout the year when you will be required to travel to London for meetings.

The Harlequins Foundation wish to appoint an Education and Employability Mentor to oversee the development, planning and delivery of our employability provision. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the skills required to organise and deliver programmes that support participants to develop the essential skills and progress them demonstrably closer to the employment market.

The Harlequins Foundation is the charitable arm of the Club, delivering programmes in our communities that primarily support young people to develop the essential skills, enabling success on and off the pitch. Our purpose is to harness sport and the spirit of Harlequins, empowering young people to acquire the skills they need to succeed.

The Foundation has an educational pathway to provide learning opportunities from Level 1 through to degree level, however qualifications are only part of a learners development. We recognise that academic achievement alone does not equate to readiness for work, and we develop and deliver programmes that provide young people with the opportunity to hone their skills and are better equip them for meaningful employment.

As the Education and Employability Mentor, you will have oversight of a variety of different programmes, playing a vital role in the development and delivery of these. It is essential that you have exceptional knowledge of societal issues that affect the groups that you will be working with, and understanding the importance of the impact of the work that you will deliver.
The successful candidate will be confident serving in a pastoral role and as a mentor to the participants they engage with, challenging them to develop their skills while nurturing the confidence needed to demonstrate them. Experience of stakeholder management and an ability to build relationships with external delivery partners will be crucial to the role holder.

What you'll be doing:

• Deliver our current mentoring provision and look to expand into different stakeholders in our focus boroughs
• Lead the delivery of our Try Time programme, developing the Harlequins Foundation alternative provision offering
• Drive partnership opportunities to provide alternative provision within schools across Hounslow and our other focus boroughs
• Maintain and develop relationships with local schools and local authorities to refer suitable programme participants
• Lead on recruitment of programme participants from relevant referral sources and delivery partners, researching and establishing new relationships as required
• Support Education and Employability Mentor (EEM) with delivery of Employability Academy
• Support delivery of our NEET (not in Education, Employment or Training) projects and programmes
• Liaise with local employers and participants to ensure the efficient running of our programmes
• Take responsibility for the reporting and monitoring of employability programmes, ensuring accurate collection of data required to report against funding

Your skills and experience:

• Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
• Have or willing to work towards gaining qualifications required to deliver and assess vocational qualifications
• Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in a classroom environment
• Experienced in engaging young people from a range of backgrounds, including hard to reach and disadvantaged young people
• Experience of managing essential stakeholder relationships while maintaining and developing new referral channels and programmes
• Experience using monitoring & evaluation tools, for example, Signal Stoplight, Upshot and Sport Value Bank
• RFU ERCA (or equivalent NGB coaching award)
• A commitment to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults
• Highly organised with excellent planning and coordination skills and a meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to confidently present to stakeholders in person or online
• Ability to build excellent relationships and a confidence in networking
