Schools’ Project Officer Coordinator (4-5 days per week)

We are a small, lively and expanding charity promoting the personal development of young people in partner schools, through challenging activities that they design, plan and finally undertake adult free. We invite students (usually in groups) to develop their own challenges, something they want to do but which is well outside their ‘comfort zones’ and to be responsible for every stage of them: we provide planning support, risk management, and expenses funding. Our award winners have climbed the highest UK peaks, cycled to Paris, performed plays at school, harnessed green power via a bike, among many other imaginative and ambitious projects.   

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an energetic, talented and reliable candidate to coordinate our schools’ outreach team, inspiring high-quality applications for funding from Year 12s. We are at an exciting stage of growth, now in 20% of London schools, so there is great scope to shape our strategic direction, including cultivating our alumni network of previous award winners.  We are looking for competent leader, ideally with experience of risk and physical challenge, and strong administrative skills, who is comfortable working with schools. He/she will be keen to work with a growing charity, and to support young people usually with a poverty of experience and opportunity.

We are looking to recruit HOPELINE247 Advisors to provide individually tailored suicide prevention advice and guidance to young people and those who are concerned for them via our national multi-channel helpline HOPELINE247 and deliver suicide prevention training online and in community settings across the UK.

What you will do:

· Work as part of a team providing suicide prevention support to a range of clients via multichannel communication  platforms.

· Work on a 7-day shift system including evening and weekends

· Use professional judgement to assess the needs of the service users who present with risk to life and manage and report any matters related to safeguarding. 

· Maintain accurate records and input data monitoring into the data base system.

· Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practise. 

· Provide training, mentoring and coaching to new recruits.

To be successful in this role you will have:

· a degree or professional qualification in Health or Social Care, Community Work or a related discipline

· previous experience of working in an advisory capacity in suicide prevention or mental health

· a proven record of working directly with vulnerable young people

· experience of providing advice and guidance via multiple communication channels

· the ability to empathise, support and build rapport with suicidal people and those who care about them, remaining non-judgemental and adhering to the remit of the service

Salary: NLAC Scale SCP 24-28 (Starting salary of £27,520 per annum based on working 30 hours per week progressing incrementally to £30,540 per annum)

Hours:  30 hours per week over 4 days as part of a team that work 7.5 hour shifts between 07:30am and 22:30.

We are looking for a Fundraising and Events Coordinator to join our busy team. This entry-level role will work across our organisation and the successful candidate will gain valuable experience in fundraising, event planning and management and marketing.

Children and Families Across Borders will be marking our 70th anniversary in 2024 and will be using this special occasion to leverage funds and raise our profile.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and management of large fundraising events. You will coordinate the event logistics and ensure that each event is successful. Working closely with the Deputy CEO, you will help to promote both events to CFAB’s donors and prospects and research and identify potential event sponsors.

You will also help us to work on our annual online fundraising campaign, The Big Give Christmas Challenge. Working with both the fundraising and marketing team, you will help us to create initial design concepts and draft copy. You will help us to clean and segment donor and prospect data and log all communications on our CRM database.

This position will also play an important role in creating our donor communications throughout the year including regular updates and our annual impact report.

In addition, the candidate will also be responsible for some administrative functions including updating our CRM database, prospect research and collecting data on our services.

This role is being funded by the Rank Foundation’s Time to Shine programme. This is a leadership programme to address both the increasing demands of the social sector to improve business capability skills and to address the wide-spread challenge of under-employment faced by many people.

As well as providing valuable funding for the position, the Time to Shine programme also incorporates a range of personal and professional development activities for the Time to Shine leader, their line manager and in turn, the whole organisation. Alongside your main duties listed here, the successful candidate will also participate in a structured programme of learning sessions to help your own development and progress as an emerging leader.
