Public Health and Engagement Manager - Cyprus
About the role
As the lead for public involvement and community engagement, you will be instrumental in continuing the development of the infrastructure, capacity, and capability to support high-quality evidenced public health information and community engagements across the military community overseas in support of improving the populations health and reducing health inequalities.
Reporting directly to the Director of Community Healthcare Operations, you will be a member of the SSAFA Community Healthcare Operations management team, contributing to and realising the department’s strategic aims and objectives.
About the team
There are 3 SSAFA locality Community Health teams in Cyprus, each team consist of Midwives, Health Visitors, School Nurses, Community Children’s Nurses, CAMHS, Dietitian and Speech and Language Therapists. The Community Health Service is supported by a Child Consultant Psychiatrist and a Community Paediatrician who provide a peripatetic visiting service from the UK. This role works in partnership with colleagues in each locality to ensure that the messages are consistent whilst customised to support local differences.
About you
You will have a passion for public health and community engagement, with a focus on inclusivity and evidence-based research. An MSc in Public Health or an extensive understanding and experience in Public Involvement and Community Engagement and/or Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement is essential. You will have excellent knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion for ensuring research inclusivity and a high level of decision-making and problem-solving skills. Experience in public health research is desirable.
