Local Group Secretary (Exeter & District)

RSPB Exeter & District Local Group plays a vital role supporting the RSPB locally through a mixture of inspiring talks, guided walks and trips, and other events. This volunteer led group has been running since 1974, providing a focal point to meet friendly and like-minded people, while learning more about birds and wildlife. For the smooth running of the group we have regular committee meetings, normally every other month or as required, and an Annual General Meeting in October. Normally our committee meetings take place remotely, via Zoom. We also run part of our talks programme using Zoom. We need someone to be part of our team to set up the Zoom meetings, and take minutes of the committee meetings & AGM. Before each meeting, you should liaise with the group leader to ensure that all invitees are informed about the meeting agenda and other relevant information. Shortly after each meeting, you should circulate a draft copy of the minutes, then apply any corrections and finalise them in good time for the following meeting. You can also get involved with other aspects of the group too. New ideas, skills and talents are always very welcome.
