We’re recruiting an Innovation and Product Development Manager (12-month fixed term contract) to deliver new fundraising products which will be capable of generating significant income to fund our lifesaving research. You’ll be responsible for steering a cross-organisational team through the process of innovation: insight, ideation, testing, scoping, and delivering new products back into the organisation.

Working arrangements

This is a 12-month fixed term contract until March 2026, covering family leave. Start date is as soon as possible.

This is a dual location role, with your working time split between your home and our London Office.

At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average.  The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause. 

Due to the nature of the role, we will also require in-person workshop/product development sprint attendance (either in our London office or another central London location) for up to 5 days, approximately 3-4 times a year. Product development sprints will be agreed significantly in advance (2 months minimum) to give all members of the team significant opportunity to plan.

Being a curious, analytical team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities will all be important traits. The role does involve project management and deadlines so the right candidate will be organised with an attention to detail.

You will have a background in one or more of the following; impact planning, evaluation or research. This may be complemented by experience of strategy development, programme management, training, facilitation or similar areas. Whatever your previous experience we don’t expect you to tick every box, we want to support your learning so that you can personally develop in the role.

About the position

This is an exciting opportunity to help make a positive impact for animals by supporting HSI’s UK campaigns on wildlife, farmed animals, and the fur trade. As part of our dedicated and friendly team, you’ll play an important role in producing effective campaign communications materials, building HSI/UK’s brand awareness, and ensuring our events run smoothly. Key areas of responsibility

• Co-ordinate the day-to-day social media planning, scheduling and community engagement on channels including Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn.

• Assist with creation and maintenance of content for UK campaigns, such as social media posts, supporter actions and web pages, including video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro.

• Oversee the production of public-facing materials, such as banners, leaflets and props, for HSI’s UK campaigns, as directed.

• Assist with the planning and organisation of events (including media and Parliamentary events) for HSI’s UK campaigns, including handling bookings, invitations, and RSVPs, as directed.

• Co-ordinate the implementation of communications plans to support campaigns.

• Undertake administrative tasks, including communications project management, expense tracking and maintenance of visual asset library.

• Assist the media and communications program manager with research and communications to maintain and develop HSI/UK’s celebrity and influencer networks and activities.

• Ensure accurate, timely recording and internal communication of progress against strategic communications goals, including through social media analytics, tracking of media coverage and quarterly reports.

About you 

Our successful candidate will be highly organised, positive and proactive with excellent attention to detail. You’ll have the ability to create creative and persuasive digital content which informs our supporters and encourages them to take action for animals. An understanding of the media and celebrity/influencer landscape in the UK would be beneficial. You’ll have experience working in a communications role, ideally gained within the charity sector, and a proven track record of supporting the delivery of effective campaigns and external communications.

St John International have embarked on a new global strategy, changing the nature of the organisation and the services provided to the global family of St John organisations. This mid-level position will be a key member of a small projects/programmes team at the heart of delivery in an international charity. The post holder will play an important role as implementation of our global strategy enters a new phase – and offers the chance to get involved in a wide variety of different functions, including; project management, governance development and policy-making, fundraising and the design and delivery of programmes utilising these funds.

The Order of St John (also known as St John International or SJI) is the international coordinating body for all St John organisations around the world, usually known as St John Ambulance. Acting as the secretariat for a family of 44 organisations, SJI manages projects that encourage collaboration and help St John to be recognised as the global leader in first aid and medical responses to community health needs.

Initially, the post holder will be working within a small team ensuring that a new “St John Hub” is populated with a collection of relevant and necessary information for all St John organisations. Once complete, the post holder will be responsible for the ongoing curation and development of the hub as a central resource according to emerging areas of need and global discussion.  In addition, the St John Hub will host online learning courses covering key management principles for St John organisations. Content for these courses has already been collected, but the post holder will need to translate them into online learning courses, using Articulate 360 .  

As our fundraising strategy develops, the post holder will work with the Head of Programmes and St John organisations around the world to identify suitable projects for central funding, and will assist, when necessary, in the administration of those funds.  This will include overseeing small grant making processes, but also assisting recipients with reporting and administration of grants.

The post will suit someone with experience in the processes of collecting, organizing, storing, and distributing data and knowledge within a global and multi cultural organization. They should know how to implement information management policies to ensure data is accessible, secure, and used effectively to support decision-making.

Key deliverables:

· Work with colleagues in St John International to populate the “St John Hub”, and then ensure it is kept up to date with latest information.

· Build contacts with St John organisations around the world to source relevant information and updates to keep the “Hub” up to date and be a point of contact for St John organisations/managers around the world looking for information on a particular subject.

· Take existing knowledge and learning and, using the Articulate 360 platform, build into online learning courses for St John organisations and managers around the world to utilise.

· Manage St John International’s profile on the Kaya online learning platform, and update lessons and courses as required.

· Work with Head of Programmes, and (future) Head of Fundraising to develop the grant making process, and administer to this as necessary once running.

Applicant requirements

Required experience or skills:

· Experience in roles that require the ability to organise and manage a large variety of information in a user friendly arrangement.

· Ability to write on-line learning courses using the Articulate 360 package, or similar approaches.

· Ability to communicate complex issues in simple, straightforward language.

· Keen interest in organisational development within the context of international charities or social enterprise.

· Experience working in a large-scale social enterprise / international health care charity.

· Experience facilitating and energising online meetings.

· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365, especially Teams and SharePoint.

· Experience of working with global teams of volunteers, recognising different cultures and practices, and being able to secure commitments to carry out further work on your behalf.

· Enthusiastic and approachable, ready to listen and engage with people.

· Ability to identify support needs in good time, and to manage office functions around the role in a friendly and collegiate manner.

Desirable:

· Understanding of good practice in governance and management structures.

· Understanding of different business models across different contexts.

· Experience in volunteer organisations and managing activity with external partners.

· Experience of grant making processes for international charities, either as a donor or receiver.

· Previous engagement of any kind with a St John organisation anywhere in the world will be very helpful.

Terms

Full time position. Working hybrid according to preference, but with requirement to be present in the London office 2 days per week.

We are looking for an energetic Immigration Adviser to provide advice to destitute migrants accessing Mental Health services in several East London boroughs.

Praxis Community Projects is a dynamic, award-winning human rights charity supporting migrants in crisis or at- risk, ensuring that their essential human needs are met and that they are able to overcome the barriers they face. We provide legal advice, housing projects, and a range of welfare support services, including group work.  We build community, challenge exclusion and discrimination, influence policy, improve services and inspire solidarity with migrants.

This project is delivered in partnership with ELFT – East London NHS Foundation Trust. Supported by a project supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall project and delivery of immigration advice and casework to migrants at risk referred by selected hospitals and other Community Mental Health services provided by ELFT. This service is delivered through a mixture of channels including telephone, digital, face-to-face and hybrid working. This role will likely involve significant amounts of outreach work to provide advice in the community and within health services, and collaboration with those health services will be key. 

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the issues faced by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants at risk (including EU migrants). The post holder will have a good understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable migrants with complex needs and will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders.

Charity Fundraising Ltd provides a comprehensive range of fundraising, strategic consultancy and evaluation services to Charities and other not-for-profit organisations. Established in 2000, our services range from grant and contract bid writing and review, to developing fundraising strategies, developing M&E frameworks and undertaking project and programme evaluations. We are seeking an exceptional fundraiser who can offer a strong track record of driving organisational growth in the voluntary sector. Multi-year experience in two or more of the following core service areas is essential:

• Achieving major grant funding from trusts, foundations, lottery distributors, public sector agencies or similar.
• Planning and developing successful fundraising strategies and action plans.
• Undertaking voluntary sector project evaluations / developing M&E frameworks.
• Planning and developing successful contract tender submissions.

The role is varied and interesting - managing a portfolio of clients and supporting them directly or strategically with their fundraising, impact evaluation and organisational development. Our consultants are all employees and we work closely together as a supportive team, sharing and developing skills and knowledge. We anticipate the appointee may not hold experience across all core areas of our services. We will enable the appointee to focus on projects that play to their strengths and experience and provide further support and training as necessary.

Based from home (must be UK resident), with ad hoc client and team meetings/socials (all travel paid), mostly within England. All IT equipment provided. Full-time or part-time (minimum 0.8 FTE - 28 hrs).

We are looking for an Immigration advisor to provide immigration assessments, advice, and casework to homeless people accessing St Mungo’s No Second Night Out St Mungo’s Assessment Hubs.

Praxis is a dynamic, award-winning human rights charity supporting migrants in crisis or at- risk, ensuring that their essential human needs are met and that they can overcome the barriers they face. We provide legal advice, housing projects and a range of welfare support including group work. We build community, challenge exclusion and discrimination, influence policy, improve services and inspire solidarity with migrants.

This project is delivered in partnership with St Mungo’s, one of the UKs leading homelessness charities. Supported by a project coordinator, you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality immigration assessments, advice and casework for people accessing St Mungo’s NSNO assessment hubs in London. The service is delivered through various channels, including face-to-face, telephone and digital appointments. There will be an expectation to spend some time in situ at the NSNO hubs and working from Praxis’ office in Bethnal Green.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the issues faced by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants at risk (including EU migrants). The post holder will have a good understanding of the challenges faced by homeless migrants with NRPF. They will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders.

We played a leading role in exposing the Windrush scandal and advocate and campaign for lasting changes to policy and practice to address the root causes of the issues faced by at-risk migrants.

About the role

The Motability Foundation is looking for a confident, driven media and PR professional to join the Communications team and lead our media and PR activity.

This a really exciting time to be joining the Foundation as we embark on our new strategy in 2025. With a recently refreshed new brand, our vision is clear, we want to help disabled people make the journeys they choose. This role will play a crucial part in our work to raise awareness of the work of the Motability Foundation and amplify the voices of disabled people across the media.

This role will take a lead on all media and PR activities. With a strong news sense, you’ll help develop and execute forward-thinking PR plans and strategies for the organisation, manage our external profile and raise awareness of the work we do, aligned to our vision.

What you will be doing

• Implement and manage a comprehensive and proactive PR activity schedule for the Foundation, crafting compelling content to entice journalists and the media to support our work.
• Act as the main point of contract for all media and press activity. You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the Motability Foundation press office, providing an efficient service that makes the most of reactive and proactive media opportunities and builds our reputation with the media.
• Develop and foster strong relationships with key media outlets in the sector and journalists, broadcasters and editors to secure coverage that helps to influence key decision makers and engage our audiences in our work.
• Scan effectively for breaking news stories relevant to our areas of work.
• Produce press releases, and secure coverage using media surveys/polls.
• Working with colleagues in public affairs and our Performance and Innovation team, take a lead on proactive media activity around our policy, campaigns and research activity.
• You will work closely with our Case Study Executive to ensure we have the right stories for use in media work.
• Scan for areas of reputational risk and support the Senior Press and PR Manager with preparing for and handling reputational risk.
• Lead on crisis media enquiries and messaging, implementing the necessary checks and actions to protect the Foundation’s reputation and brand.
• Brief and train key spokespeople, developing key messaging and Q&As.
• Analyse and report on media activity for internal teams, external partners and our board, including leading on relevant reports to committees.

• While this role doesn’t have any line management responsibilities currently, you will nevertheless be expected to support other members of the team on an informal basis.

You will have a strong track record of securing high profile media coverage, ideally for a national charity dealing in disability, health or social issues. You will have a great news sense and can confidently identify stories and make them work for different media outlets. You will have a flair for writing engaging copy, an eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to meeting deadlines. You will be used to briefing and supporting spokespeople with media interviews and speaking opportunities.

 You will be proactive and a strong team player as this role will need to work closely with colleagues across the communications team and wider organisation. Extra Information

• The role is based in Harlow, Essex, at Motability’s offices. They are easily commutable from London, just 30 minutes from Liverpool Street station or 18 minutes from Tottenham Hale station. There is a free minibus which brings staff from Harlow Town station to the office at specific times each day.

At Motability Foundation we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. We oversee the Motability Foundation Scheme and provide grants to help people use it, providing access to transport to hundreds of thousands of people a year.

We award grants to other charities and organisations who provide different types of transport, or work towards making transport accessible. About Share

Share Psychotherapy is one of the city’s major mental health charities. Established over fifty years ago, we offer medium- to long-term therapy at nominal fees to people on low incomes. We deliver high quality services offering a range of psychodynamic and creative therapies and modalities. Around 80% of our clients have annual incomes of less than £12k, and we are therefore working at the vital intersection of psychological distress and poverty in the city.

Having moved to our new city centre location in 2023 we are now well established in our new premises and ready to capitalise on the benefits the new premises and location offer to the organisation. This requires a dedicated business leader who can take care of the day to day running of the organisation as well as contribute significantly to the development of future strategy.

We work closely with other charities and the NHS to deliver for the Sheffield population, and we seek to expand the relationships we hold across the sector, to meet increasing demand on mental health services through collaboration.

The role

The Executive Manager is a new senior leadership role, leading on the organisations’ fundraising, partnership and service development and supporting the board in all aspects of organisational governance.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a varied role, bringing professionalism, collaborative style and leadership to the organisation. The role involves leadership in core areas, such as HR processes, charity governance, fundraising and oversight of client finance and building maintenance

Working closely with the Clinical Manager the postholder will ensure that the core functions of the organisation support and enhance the delivery of our clinical service.  The role will manage a small office management / administrative team comprising both paid and voluntary staff.

Job description

Service Development

• Develops links and partnerships with other organisations, representing Share and attending external meetings
• Identifies and pursues additional avenues of funding
• Completes funding bids for routine funding opportunities and manages relationships with funders from proposal submission to reporting
• Plays an active part in strategic and business planning with the board of trustees, setting stretching but achievable goals for the organisation.

Governance and Compliance

• Provides support to the Chair of Trustees to ensure sound the governance of the organisation
• Delivers timely and reliable administrative support to the board of trustees, specifically around quarterly board meetings, AGMs and other governance matters
• Manages the organisational risk register, reporting regularly to trustees
• Leads on policy development, compliance and annual reporting cycles
• Maintains and updates HR processes and employment practices
• Working with the clinical manager to assess client experience and ensure a high level of customer/client satisfaction

Operations

• Leads on building management, health and safety and identifying and scheduling building maintenance work
• Oversees management of all elements of the operation of the building including, but not limited to, utilities usage and contracts, building access arrangements, security, first aid provision, fire alarm systems, lone working procedures, and relevant organisational insurances.
