Pride Cymru is a registered charity made up of a large core group of volunteers  with a small team of p/t members of staff.  We work all year round to challenge homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and to promote equality and inclusivity for all. We are most known for our annual Pride festival but we also run a number of exciting projects throughout the year in areas relating to sport, sexual health and LGBTQ+ history. 

We are looking for a Social Media & Content Creation officer to oversee Pride Cymru’s current social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn). The role will involve planning, designing and creating high quality digital content, engaging with audiences and keeping up with social media trends.

This role will involve actively working with both our volunteer core team and our part time members of staff to ensure that all areas of our work are fully represented across our social media channels.

Main responsibilities include:-

  • Creating social media schedules for each month

  • Working with the team to create and schedule social media content in advance ensuring it is accessible and bilingual wherever possible.

  • Ensuring content is varied, relevant and creative - it should include =

  • Promoting the work the charity does all year round

  • Promoting the annual Pride Cymru event

  • Support services and information relevant to the LGBT+ community

  • Supporting post’s from partner organisations & community groups

  • General engaging LGBT+ content - news articles, photos, videos

  • Fundraising opportunities for our followers

  • Respond to enquiries/messages on social media platforms and follow up on any actions or signpost when possible

  • Monitor commenting on posts for any discriminatory or hateful language and hide/block/report when necessary

  • Grow audience and engagement across platforms and look towards a presence on new platforms.

Essential -

  • Experience or knowledge of social media marketing, content creation.

  • Excellent written skills and attention to detail

  • Well organised

  • The ability to work reactively, sometimes to very tight deadlines.

  • Well-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team 

  • Committed to promoting equality and inclusion

We are particularly keen to recruit individuals to improve the range of representation on our team, to help us drive forward the vision of Pride Cymru over the coming years.
