Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to make a valuable and lasting contribution to the lives of CYP aged 5-13 : and to work within a supportive team to ensure that CYP are provided with the right help and support, when they need us most. 

Salary -  £32,060 per annum

Permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week)

You will be working as part of the Ormiston Families Interventions Team, within the YOUnited partnership (Ormiston Families, Centre 33, Cambridgeshire Community Services and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Foundation Trust).  YOUnited provides a single point of access for all referrals for CYP in need of support with their mental health across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Ormiston Families work with CYP aged 5-13 with mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing needs.  

The purpose of the role is to:

  • Provide clinical guidance and supervision for practitioners to ensure that we offer a service that is safe, meaningful, and focused on the needs of CYP. 
  • Oversee a duty system that offers advice, guidance, and risk management support to those waiting for an intervention who may need more timely support, using a ‘Single Session Thinking’ approach. (Training to be provided)
  • To carry a small caseload to maintain up to date practice knowledge and experience.
  • Work within the YOUnited partnership to ensure CYP are receiving the right service and to embed and develop impactful services including attendance at MDT meetings. 

We are seeking an experienced mental health practitioner, with clinical supervisory experience who is dedicated to improving services for CYP. Someone who can demonstrate the necessary skills and passion to help us improve the mental health and wellbeing of CYP.

Successful candidates will be required to have:

  • A relevant qualification and registration with the appropriate professional body. 
  • A good understanding of the needs of CYP, and their families aged 5-13.
  • Post-qualification experience of providing mental health and emotional wellbeing support to CYP and their Carer’s within this age group. 
  • Knowledge and preferable experience of the interventions offered.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to keeping CYP safe.

You will join a supportive team working alongside the Operations Manager, Team Managers and Senior Practitioners as well as colleagues with a wide range of knowledge and experience, such as Counsellors, CWP’s and EWP’s. 

Opportunities may include undertaking a one-year supervisory training with the Anna Freud Centre.
