Our theatre space is well used by a variety of both well-known and amateur performers and we have three resident theatre groups. We are proud of our in-house cafe, The Garden Cafe, which prepares nutritious, affordable and delicious food fresh on site every weekday, using locally sourced ingredients. And our sister charity, Cube Youth, provides regular youth club activities and a Youth Café.
As well as our Centre Manager, the staff team includes our Administration Manager, caretaker and cafe staff. We also have a great team of volunteers, and a strong Board of Trustees responsible for the governance of the charity. We receive no external funding and operate largely from hire income and successful applications for grant funding.
The role
As Centre Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of this busy, vibrant community centre and engaging with the community and hirers to present a welcoming, friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Your role will include:
- promoting Malvern Cube and what it offers, developing and maintaining a strong community presence and ensuring that the facilities are well used and hire income is maximised.
- ensuring the effective robust financial management of Malvern Cube and providing regular financial reports to trustees.

- contributing to the development of Malvern Cube's strategic plan and leading on key aspects of its implementation.

The Finance and Operations Officer will provide general support to the Head of Finance and Operations across the following areas:

Location: Money and Mental Health’s central London office for at least 2 days per week with option for home working the rest of the time. The office is wheelchair accessible.

Hours: 3 to 4 days (22.5 to 30 hours) a week. The charity has a flexible working policy with core hours of 10am - 3pm and remaining contracted hours distributed throughout the week flexibly. We are open to discussing other flexible arrangements, such as accommodating school runs.

About the consultancy

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus. Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. Job Purpose
Growing Hope is a national charity with a growing number of clinics across the UK. This operations role will provide support across the Growing Hope national staff team. This will include support with administration, finance, fundraising and training. This role is key in enabling all the functions of the national charity to run smoothly and effectively. The role will be based in King’s Cross with occasional events outside of the office.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow. It is anticipated that this time will be flexible and adjusted according to the needs and priorities at the time. Specifically the role with include:
IT administration
- Administration of IT systems, logins and spreadsheets for the team, volunteers, staff and freelancers (keeping these up to date and amending systems as required).
- Ordering and setting up IT hardware and software for individuals joining the team.
- Oversight of IT systems used by Growing Hope including ticket tailor, jot form, mail chimp, Microsoft office, google adverts and tracking. Supporting with problem solving when issues arise.
- Overseeing and training others in Canopy (clinic administration software) and helping support and problem solve with using this. This includes liaising with a freelance software developer to manage the development project.
HR administration
- Oversight of the recruitment checking process for new volunteers, trustees, freelancers and employees. This includes carrying out DBS checks, calling referees, chasing for references and communicating with individuals as they start with Growing Hope.
- Management of the ‘internal news’ list in order to track individuals working closely with the charity.
- Writing, drafting and sending out HR letters, contracts and contract variations.
- Organising internal events on behalf of the team including away days, training days and ad hoc events.
- Organising online training as required for members of the Growing Hope team.
Office Support
- Overseeing the day to day office and building use including the alarm, maintenance visits, wifi, printer and other equipment. This includes liaising with other individuals who have office use.
- Liaising with the Director of Operations around the use of the office.
- Ordering office supplies as required, ensuring office space and storage is kept organised.
- Supporting with external events planning including finding venues, sponsorship and items needed.

We are seeking a Head of People and Operations to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a multifaceted role, leading the people and culture agenda along with responsibility for the smooth running of our operations, including overall office management and managing our IT provider.

People and Engagement
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team on the development and delivery of a people plan that drives engagement and performance. This includes proactively listening, learning and acting on feedback from our people engagement survey
- Lead on all aspects of HR, including recruitment, onboarding and performance management, staff benefits, leave allowances and mandatory learning.
- Responsible for managing our employee relations provider, ensuring that their service is fit for purpose and supporting all managers within the charity
- Work with our Occupational Health outsourced service to ensure that we are providing our people with an effective occupational health solution
- Create an approach to reward and recognition that celebrates success and encourages people to go above and beyond and making a difference for FNF, fully utilising our recognition platform

Policy and Governance

IT
- Act as the primary point of contact between FNF and the IT provider, ensuring clear and effective communication to ensure they deliver high quality services that meet our needs
- Review and manage the IT service contract ensuring that all terms and SLAs are monitored as well as considering value for money and service experience
- Manage the budget for the IT function at FNF
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets (hardware, software licenses etc) and ensure they are properly managed and documented. This includes the procurement and disposal of IT equipment as needed.
Office Management / Administration
- Partner with managed office provider to ensure that all services are delivered as per the contract, building a strong working relationship with the building and facilities team
- Ensure that the office environment is well maintained, welcoming and conducive to productive work
- Oversee the management of office supplies, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and ordered are placed
- Implement best practices in office management, including document management, filing systems and communication protocol
- To identify areas across the charity where processes, systems and collaborative working can be made more efficient, and support the team in implementing improvements
