Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and provide strategic leadership and direction to the Creative Living Centre. 

• Develop and implement programs that align with our mission and goals. 

• Oversee budgets, expenditure and management accounts ensuring that income and expenditure is within planned targets. Accountable to the Board of Trustees for the overall financial health of the CLC, including ensuring that new funding opportunities are pursued. 

• Oversee fundraising efforts and build relationships with donors and sponsors. 

• Manage the Centre’s budget and ensure financial sustainability, asset management and risk appraisal. 

• Foster a positive and inclusive community environment. 

• Represent the Centre at public events and in the media. 

• Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners. 

• Ensure all staff are effectively line managed and performance managed

• Take overall responsibility for achieving, monitoring, and reporting on performance against targets in all areas of the CLC’s activities. 

• Report to the Trustee Board regularly on progress against key strategic objectives, providing information and answering for the CLC’s performance. 

• Ensure that the Board operates within statutory and corporate approved frameworks, requirements and guidelines. 

Who are we looking for? 

• Proven experience in a leadership role developing business plans, preferably in a non-profit or community organization ideally a mental health charity. 

• Strong leadership style with line management, team building  experience. 

• Robust knowledge of Charity Governance, Policies, and statutory requirements 

• Strong understanding of creative and cultural sectors. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans. 

• Experience in fundraising and financial management. 

• Passion for creativity and community engagement. 

• Experience of working closely with Boards of Trustees, advising, and guiding robust decision making 

• Financial management including forecasting, budget setting and monitoring income and expenditure.

What you can expect in return 

The role is part-time, 26.5 hours per week. The successful candidate can work the hours in a variable pattern which can suit both parties, subject to agreement with the CLC’s board of trustees. The successful candidate will be required to spend time at the CLC each week.

To deliver money and energy advice service for kidney patients struggling with their energy and water bills and other costs of living challenges. You will provide subject matter expert support within our Patient Support Services team, and will work closely with our Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to develop and grow this service in your area.

Summary
To raise awareness of the service and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other kidney stakeholder groups in your defined geographic region.

Key responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Money & Energy Advice Service in the region for patients and carers at risk of fuel poverty to access independent support on money and energy matters
• Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Money & Energy Advice Service across the region, effectively managing an ongoing caseload
• Provide practical advice to patients, assessing their needs and identifying sources of support to resolve financial, practical and psychosocial challenges.

• Activities will include creating budget plans, completing income maximisation checks and benefit claims, carrying out switching exercises and Home Energy Surveys (this is not an exclusive list of tasks)
• Responsible for identifying cases where FSA approved advice is required, and supporting patients in the referral of their case to our approved partner organisation or other appropriate regional/national services

• Act as a gateway to local information and access to:

• Kidney Care UK Patient Grants service, raising awareness of the service and supporting applications
• Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Service, to ensure patients have access to reliable and accurate patient information relating to kidney disease, patient pathways, models of care, and patient choice
• Kidney Care UK Counselling Service and other appropriate services to meet patients’ emotional and physiological needs

• Work closely with local Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to ensure that patients receive expert advice in all areas of need, with smooth, effective handovers ensuring that patients feel supported and part of the Kidney Care UK ‘family’ at all times

This advisory role will play a key contribution to help grow the RSPB’s Fair to Nature programme and improve habitats to protect and restore nature and wildlife on UK farms with one specific major business partner, and also with a wide range of other farmers and businesses.

What's the role about?

For the key strategic business partnership the role will visit farmer-suppliers and provide in-person habitat advice to improve the conditions for biodiversity on the farms visited.

You will use this insight and experience to provide the content to help inform communications tools and a broader advisory programme for other farms within the partnership (you will not be responsible for the communications execution).

For other Fair to Nature farmers, and businesses directly linked to them, you will prepare for and complete advisory visits and follow up with applicant Fair to Nature farmers and share the benefits of Fair to Nature certification. You will advise them on how to comply with the FtN Standard and help them complete their Farm Plan.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

• Knowledge of land management practices that deliver nature and wider environment benefits on farmland.
• Understanding of the ecology of main farmland taxa, particularly those of conservation concern.
• Understanding of agricultural systems and how conservation management may impact on farming practice.

The General Medical Council are currently looking for a Research Manager to work in our Data, Research and Insight Hub, the Research Manager will be responsible for developing, managing and ensuring the delivery of key individual research projects as part of the GMC's research programme. We’re looking for a community rail support officer to support our network of community rail partnerships (CRPs) and station adoption groups in the Midlands and East of England.

About us

Community Rail Network is a not-for-profit organisation, working across Britain, supporting a growing ‘community rail’ movement, which helps communities get the most from their railways, promotes sustainable and inclusive travel, coordinates volunteering and place-making, and brings people together.

Community rail is made up of 75 community-based partnership organisations, and around 1,200 station friends volunteer groups and other community-led initiatives around Britain. Their activities range from creative projects for young people, to advising train operators on service improvements, to building travel confidence with families and disabled people, to biodiversity projects at stations, to promoting greener travel and tourism by rail.

Our enthusiastic staff team of 22 people works mainly from home in different locations, but we come together regularly in person and online. We work collaboratively to advise our members, provide training, events and resources, run campaigns, and champion community rail and its insights via decision-makers and the media. We believe in developing our team and supporting everyone to reach their potential while having a good work-life balance.

About this role

The purpose of this role is to provide support and advice to community rail partnerships and groups on delivering maximum benefit within and with their communities, working collaboratively with the railways and wider partners. The role will support our members across an area covering the West Midlands, Central England and East Anglia, so it is desirable for you to be based in this area.

You’ll be comfortable engaging and advising local groups and communities to extend existing and set up new initiatives, and to reach wider audiences with an evidence-led, place-based approach. As well as supporting local groups, you’ll work closely with the rail industry, and wider third and public sector partners to ensure collaboration and shared success.
 

Main responsibilities

1. Provide direct support and advice to CRPs and their officers, and other community rail groups in the region. This includes responding to queries and requests, passing on specialist queries to other members of the team, and providing proactive support through an annual planning and accreditation process and as set out in our plans.

2. Support the development of skills, confidence and effectiveness across the network of CRPs and station groups, helping them to increase their positive social, environmental and economic impact, including through referral to our training, events and resources.

3. Support the development of emerging community rail partnerships, station friend groups and community-led stations and railway-related projects in the region.

4. Helping our members to work effectively with rail, transport, local government and community partners, supporting effective relationship building and showing positive leadership and insights on community rail within the region.

5. Work with our regions support manager on delivery and monitoring of our grant schemes, and support CRPs and groups in the region to apply, deliver successfully and report back on funded work.

6. Gather and share examples, feedback and insights from our members across the region, to facilitate best practice sharing and confidence across community rail and to feed into our communications, resources, events and public affairs work.

7. As a member of the Community Rail Network team, participate and contribute to our wider work as relevant, such as Community Rail Week, our annual conference and Awards.

Skills, competencies and experience

1. Skills in supporting community engagement projects; an understanding of and confidence in using community engagement, local communications, project planning and evaluation techniques

Other information

The community rail support officer reports to our regions support manager within the Support and Development team. This is a new position, expanding our small team.

The role is 3.5-4 days per week (25.9 to 29.6 hours) with a degree of flexibility and out-of-hours working (evenings and weekends). It is home-based, but with regular travel (including occasional overnight stays) across your region and occasionally beyond for member meetings and events and to take part in our wider national activity. Applicants will need local access to a train station to enable rail-based travel for work as needed, including good links across the Midlands and East of England.

We're a registered charity on a mission to improve the way that credit is provided and create better support and solutions for people who are struggling with debt. We conduct high quality research and test out innovative solutions. We're now seeking a Researcher to join our small but developing team.

Job Description

Salary Range: £29,000 to £34,000. 

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Consideration will be given to four day working and other flexible arrangements. 

Pension: Company pension scheme with NEST, with employer contributions at 6% of salary. 

Term: Fixed for 12 months, with an intention to extend. 

Reporting to: Chief Executive. 

Location: Remote, but with a requirement to attend physical team planning meetings four times per year in locations around the UK (expenses covered).

Probationary period: 6 months. 

Purpose 

CfRC has a solid reputation for delivering high quality mixed methods research and evaluation. The postholder will work on a variety of projects and tasks and will be supported to obtain a flexible skillset in research and evaluation as well as building their knowledge of the impacts of credit use and debt problems amongst low-income households. 

All our projects involve reviews of relevant literature in their design phase. Recent examples of projects also include: 

• Designing topic guides and conducting in-depth on-line qualitative interviews with low-income households to explore how messaging about the importance of maintaining ‘good’ credit scores is impacting financial behaviours. 

• Designing and analysing a survey of borrowers using a no interest lending product to assess the impacts for financial well-being and health.

• Undertaking secondary data analysis of the Financial Lives Survey to explore the drivers behind the use of illegal lenders. 

• Conducting stakeholder interviews with not for profit third sector lenders to evaluate the effectiveness of grant support received during the Covid pandemic. 

The researcher will play a key role in helping us to deliver similar projects to time and budget and maintain our high standards. The role requires commitment to our mission and values to maintaining the standards set by the Research Integrity Office.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Conducting literature reviews. 

Assisting with the drafting of research proposals, evaluation frameworks and analysis plans. 

Designing topic guides, setting up and and undertaking qualitative interviews, online or by phone, and conducting focus groups. 

Designing surveys and managing analysis processes (for example, creating coding frameworks or summarising data in Excel). 

Undertaking quantitative research (for example, analysing survey results using statistical software such as SPSS or STATA). 

Drafting sections of professional reports in MS Word and PowerPoint. 

Presenting findings to clients and facilitating learning workshops. 

Supporting with day-to-day client relationships, such as attending meetings with clients to give project updates. 

Contributing to the strategic direction and health of the organisation by identifying research opportunities related to our mission and values, helping to maintain effective working practices, and participating in regular team meetings.

The Samaritans of Manchester and Salford are looking for a part-time Administrator to work in their city centre branch. Manchester and Salford Samaritans is located in Manchester City Centre and is a local branch of the national charity Samaritans.

Our Vision: Fewer people in the UK die by suicide.
The Samaritans do this by

• Reducing the feelings of distress and crisis that can lead to suicide.
• Increasing access to support for people in distress and crisis.
• Reducing the risk of suicide in specific settings and vulnerable groups.
• Influencing governments and local agencies to take action to reduce suicide.

The Manchester and Salford Branch currently has 180 active volunteers who provide a confidential, non-judgemental listening service round the clock every day of the year. Our callers can contact us on the phone or via email. The branch also supports Listeners in two local prisons.

The purpose of this job is to provide administrative support in the Branch so that the volunteers have what they need to provide the service that supports our callers.
The role will include:

· Responding to emails and enquiries. 
· Completing monthly checks of the building.
· Supporting the Leadership team.
· Managing information and records.

This is an office-based role a part-time post for 15 hours a week working 5 hours for 3 days each week. The role is a job share and is based in our office on Oxford Street in Manchester where volunteers take calls. The working hours will typically be 10am – 3pm. Typically Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to provide consistent support during the week. Approximately once a month there is a requirement to work in the evening for 2 hours to prepare and minute Leadership Meetings. The dates of these evening sessions are known well in advance. On those days any hours worked in the evening are instead of the usual hours earlier in the day.
