Individual Giving Manager Jobs in North East
JUST ONE Tree is a young, but award-winning, non-profit organisation. We’re tackling the dual crises of climate change and biodiversity loss through global reforestation. We make it simple for everyone to get involved because JUST £1 plants 1 Tree.
We are unique as we don’t just plant trees. We focus on restoring the entire eco-system in the oceans as well as on land, and we also educate the next generation of environmental guardians.
Sound like something you’d love to be part of? Join us in this important role.
THE ROLE:
Working alongside our founder Amanda, and other team members you’ll be right at the heart of the action. You’ll be the backbone of daily operations, providing vital support, handling all aspects of administration and ensuring the ship runs smoothly.
Your role will be pivotal in enabling us to be efficient and effective across our organisation and helping us to have an even bigger impact on restoring the planet.
We’re looking for someone who’s a solutions finder and ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. You’ll have great attention to detail and relish being organised and efficient. But you’ll also be able to bring the experience to take a step back and have a look at our systems and processes to suggest and implement efficiencies and improvements.
This is a permanent part-time role, 20 hours a week (half a day every day), with the opportunity to scale up in both responsibilities and hours as our organisation grows. We'll explore the exact hours and timings with you and together find what works.
So if you’re passionate about having a positive impact in the fight against climate change, want to work and interact with like-minded individuals (and have fun along the way) then we’d love to hear from you.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE:
· Operational Management: Streamline daily business operations, to keep an ever-improving and well-oiled machine. Enable and support the smooth onboarding of our new automatic donation system. Explore new software, systems and processes that will help as we grow to the next level.
· Administration: Executing a range of administrative tasks including donation logging, managing invoicing, tracking fundraising and data entry into Salesforce and Mailchimp.
· Communication Hub: Be the central point of communication, ensuring different parts of the team are kept updated and pulling in the same direction.
· Co-ordination: Oversee, run and deliver projects on time, from blogs and newsletters to the implementation of new tech systems.
· Processes: Oversee the smooth running of existing processes across the organisation and ensure the team utilise them correctly.
· HR: Lead on staff recruitment including hiring and onboarding new team members, performance reviews and overseeing the smaller details such as sick pay and annual leave.
· Policies: Keeping current policies and JOT handbooks up to date, adding new policies where needed and helping create those we are yet to think of.
· Logistics: Being a logistical wizard for team travel, events, meetings and internship organisation
· Company-wide Support: Be our 5th Emergency service! Support the small and passionate team to be the best they can be. You’ll have oversight of it all so we can run smoothly.
The right person with the right attitude is more important to us, than ticking all the boxes.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE:
· Passionate and enthusiastic - we thrive on having a great bunch of people on our team, all working together for a better future.
· Dependable – reliable and committed. Your role and presence is foundational to the success of the organisation.
· Solutions finder – you know how to solve the problem or know the right person to ask for help…or even better, you’re a step ahead and already on it!
· Go-getter – proactive not reactive.
· Good communicator.
· Streamliner – you can spot how to improve a process a mile away!
· Dedicated – we want someone to be a long-term part of the team and grow with us as we scale up.
· Able to work remotely
· Have your own computer
· Fluent in English
· Fanatical about detail
· Organised
· Proficient with standard software eg. Microsoft word, Excel, Google docs
· Familiar with CRMs, ideally Salesforce, and other business support systems, or confident in picking up how ours works.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
· Working remotely – Like to work from home in your comfy slippers? No worries, we’re used to that. Our team is spread out all around the world. However, for this role we are seeking someone who lives in the UK, with easy access to London for team meet-ups.
· Flexible working – work around the school pick-up, after your morning swim or you’ve walked the dog – you decide. Your day will mainly need to fall within normal office hours, but you can jiggle it around what works for you.
· Holiday time – we believe in the importance of good mental health and family time. It’s a marathon not a sprint.
· Contributing to tackling one of the most pressing crises of our time – with a great team.
· Basic hourly rate with end of year and summer bonus, total equivalent to c. £28,000 - £30,000 if it were a full-time position
If you’re a person who loves blending attention to detail and an eye for data with good people skills and has a passion for being the supportive core at the heart of an environmental organisation, then we’d love to hear from you!
Most of all, we believe in working hard and having fun along the way! We're looking for someone to join us and be a great part of the JUST ONE Tree team.
JUST ONE Tree is uncomfortably aware of the lack of diversity in the environmental sector and we’re not ok with it. We know we’ll be even stronger and more effective in powering change if we are a more diverse team.
All qualified applicants will be considered regardless of race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, genetics, national origin, disability, age or any other grounds.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

This is no ordinary fundraising job! We wanted to call this position ‘Head of Minor Gifts’, but we worried it wouldn't hit your radar during your job search.
At One World Together we're turning the tables on traditional systems of finance for global development to get more funds, on better terms, directly to communities in the UK and globally. We’ve designed a new, affordable and citizen-powered model of philanthropy that dreams of (and is realising!) a community-centred future driven by passionate and committed Global Citizens.
We are seeking an experienced, part-time Head of Individual Giving to help build our small but growing movement into a thriving community moving towards financial sustainability. Alongside building a successful movement for Global Citizenship, you will foster long-term supporters through deepening our Global Citizens’ and donor journeys. You will support our income-generation through organising fundraising events and activities, spotting potential philanthropic and business partnerships and helping to build our long-term strategies for achieving organisational sustainability.
The post is one year in the first instance, with the hope that a successful campaign will secure the position into the future.
Role Description:
We are excited to grow our Global Citizenship membership and Solidarity Funds through nation-wide community building – can you help us do this?
We are looking for someone who shares our values of trust, solidarity and equity, who is proactive and imaginative in their approach to fundraising. One who is passionate about a fairer system and who is ready to nurture a new community-centred movement founded on the power of microdonations at scale.
This role will be our first dedicated fundraising position at One World Together. As the Head of Individual Giving you will be responsible for:
- Designing a nation-wide community building stragegy to grow our Global Citizens membership and Solidarity Fund;
-
Deepening our Global Citizen donor journey and building long-term relationships with our members and other supporters;
-
Organising One World Together virtual, in-person and/or hybrid events;
-
Supporting the development of our ongoing ‘business for good’ campaign and working with the broader team to pursue other forms of fundraising as they arise;
-
Managing a community-building and fundraising budget.
We are a purpose- and values-driven organisation and are looking forward to meeting our perfect match in these areas. We want all interested candidates to know that we are not a target-driven organisation or one driven by the desire for endless growth. We have thoughtfully designed a model that ‘builds in’ financial sustainability and organisational stability, but recognise that we need to invest in a national community building initiative to reach those goals and our future community-centred impact potential.
The Values, Skills, and Experience We’re Looking For
-
2+ years experience in leading, designing and implementing local or national fundraising community building strategies and demonstrable understanding of their reach and/or impacts;
-
An understanding of and experience in developing long-term supporter commitment through regular giving and partnerships with donors;
-
A strong experience of managing fundraising campaigns through different social media platforms and digital marketing strategies;
-
An understanding of how to reach different segments of the population with fundraising messaging, including young people;
-
Experience with CRM software (we use Beacon) and Mailchimp for managing campaigns and donor communications;
-
Project-management experience, including planning and budget management;
-
A strong commitment to our values of trust, solidarity and equity – and an understanding of why these are so important in a fairer funding system;
-
Exhibits a motivation for innovation, action and a belief in a better world – and the role of collective action in achieving this;
-
Action-oriented, can thrive independently but also enjoys inspiring, coordinating and working with other team members;
-
Adaptable and willing to learn in a dynamic environment, as this is a new role in a young organisation that may require flexibility and creative problem-solving.
Desired skills and experience
We don’t expect you to have all the skills and experience on this list. Plus, we want you to learn new skills in this role. If you are on the fence, please err on the side of applying.
-
Relevant qualification in fundraising
-
Knowledge of global development and the funding challenges in the sector.
-
Experience with community engagement, fundraising, engaging with major donors, and grant writing.
-
Brilliant people skills honed through experience working in hospitality, retail, finance, HR, or logistics.
-
A willingness to travel, within and outside the UK. We are looking to grow our UK community of Global Citizens in the first instance, so we’d prefer you were UK-based.
Why we think this is an amazing role for YOU!
-
Unique opportunity to accelerate your career in a transformative fundraising role, observing your social impact day-to-day.
-
You’ll be joining a smart and dedicated team making progress on some of the most pressing funding questions worldwide in building global solidarity, strengthening community impacts and making positive change (see One World Together).
-
You’ll not only be part of a global innovation making positive social change happen, but you’ll also play a key role in our dream of creating a community-centred future and a new community of Global Citizens.
-
You’ll have the unique opportunity to help shape OWT’s fundraising strategy and practices from the ground up, allowing you to make significant impact and innovate in the field of community-driven philanthropy.
-
You’ll be part of a team rooted in values over growth, getting the organisational foundations right for an equitable future.
-
You’ll be a crucial part of building our community across a growing network of Global Citizens, supporters, and our incredible partners in Kenya, the UK and Zambia.
-
You’ll work for a team that lives its values! We take a trust-based approach to working arrangements, allowing you to set your own working hours and work remotely from your own location.
-
Generous training budget (£1,000) with flexibility to choose the right skills development for you in this role.
-
Be part of our internal growth plans and our future fundraising strategy development. As OWT expands there may be opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the organisation.
-
You’ll be part of deep-rooted social change that is already having huge impacts for our community partners - what’s not to like!?

ROLDA (Romanian League in Defence of Animals) is a small animal welfare charity working to improve the lives of dogs, cats, and other animals in Romania and internationally. Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Within our shelters, inspired by British kennel design and maintained to meet EU animal welfare standards, we can house up to 700 stray dogs at a time. Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. In addition to our efforts in rescuing and rehoming animals, ROLDA tackles the root cause of Romania's homeless animals through comprehensive neutering programmes and educational initiatives. Since 2006, we have successfully neutered nearly 20,000 cats and dogs, significantly impacting Romania's severe overpopulation of animals.
