Database & Donor Services Officer

Introduction  

Nightingale Hammerson cares for over 250 residents, tailoring our approaches within our residential, nursing, dementia, respite, and palliative care teams. We are enormously proud of our homes, with our South London home, Nightingale House, rated 'Outstanding' and our North London home, Hammerson House, rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), in its first year of opening.

As our Database and Donor Services Officer, you will oversee the processing of donations, receipts and invoices and provide administrative support to ensure operations run smoothly during busy periods.

What will your typical day involve?

You will manage the fundraising database by regularly updating and cleaning donor records on Raisers Edge, preparing data for direct mail campaigns and post-campaign evaluations, and generating monthly and quarterly summary reports.

The role also involves finance collaboration through monthly reconciliation of banking with the finance department, managing direct debits, processing banking requirements, and maintaining database budget spreadsheets. Additionally, the officer will support fundraising efforts by scheduling meetings for the Head of Fundraising & Marketing, handling telephone queries, managing legacy donations, supporting event management, and producing guest lists.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have A-Levels (essential), with a university degree or business qualification being desirable. They must have at least one year of experience using Raisers Edge CRM and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in fundraising or sales is desirable. Essential skills include a proven ability to track and report income, excellent telephone manner and writing skills, and strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
