Due to growth, an exciting opportunity exists for a Managing Director to join the team to help develop the product further as well as manage the growth of the funds. As Managing Director, you will provide strategic leadership for the charity’s Donor Advised Fund in the UK, driving its growth, ensuring operational excellence. This is a permanent full-time/part-time (min 3 days) role, home based within the UK with travel to Bradford at least one day a week.

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have excellent relationship management skills and be comfortable articulating the vision and mission of the charity to prospective donors (high net worths, business owners and leaders). You will have gravitas and be able to represent the charity at functions, networking events and be comfortable presenting. A passion and understanding of the charity sector and  in particular, the Islamic landscape will be an advantage.  Internally , you will be creative and have experience of developing and refining business and customer experience. Your strong leadership skills will allow you to drive projects forward and inspire the team you will oversee. Experience in budgeting, fundraising and investment oversight as well as knowledge of UK charity laws and regulations will be an advantage.

ABOUT GLAN

The Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) works with affected communities to pursue innovative legal actions across borders to challenge states and other powerful actors involved in human rights violations and systemic injustice. Our actions address the most pressing instances of human rights concern and they fall within the following themes: War and occupation; accountability and supply chains; environmental and economic justice; and migration and border violence.

Since our establishment in 2016, we have developed legal strategies directly addressing human rights impacts in over 23 countries and territories. Our cases include the successful legal challenge against imports of cotton produced with forced labour in Xinjiang (East Turkistan) into the UK on behalf of World Uyghur Congress and the climate case against 32 European States before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights, brought on behalf of six Portuguese youth-applicants.

More recently, we have supported the preeminent Palestinian human rights organisation Al Haq, to rapidly challenge UK weapons exports to Israel due to the risk of these arms being used in violations of international law. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Head of Strategic Communications at GLAN, you will spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy that amplifies GLAN's mission and impact on a global scale.

You will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of all communications efforts to enhance the organisation's brand, increase public awareness, and support advocacy and fundraising initiatives.

A key part of your role will be to establish GLAN's voice and brand, ensuring it resonates with diverse audiences. You will lead on improving our website and communications style, producing high quality content and ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across all platforms.

By fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the media, partners, and the affected communities we support you will play a crucial role in advancing GLAN's vision to challenge injustice through innovative legal strategies. 

Reporting directly to the CEO you will form part of the Senior Leadership Team to drive organisational growth & development; looking beyond your immediate communications responsibilities.

This is an exciting time to join GLAN. We are seeking a Head of Strategic Communications to build an ambitious communications strategy focused on some of the biggest human rights and climate change issues of our time. At this point in time, the team is small with some budget to work with external freelancers, consultants or agencies. We are looking for someone to grow with GLAN; joining us with a communications team of two and developing your team in the years to come. You should recognise that in the short to medium term, the role will involve some hands-on responsibilities until such time that we can expand the team.

KEY RESPONSIBITIES

Communications Strategy

• Align cross-media communication strategies with thematic goals to maximise success across all initiatives. Develop campaign & advocacy communications which will influence change.
• Collaborate with project delivery teams across GLAN to ensure a consistent calendar of communications, highlighting all key areas of work.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing communications and advocacy team, currently including a Campaigns Coordinator.
• Create and manage the departmental budget in alignment with the overall communications strategy.
• Utilise data and insights to map and analyse audience behaviour, informing and optimising communication activities.
• Monitor and evaluate the success of campaigns, tracking performance against strategic KPIs.

GLAN brand

• Oversee the review and redesign of the organisation's website to enhance user experience and engagement.
• Champion and promote the use of GLAN's brand among colleagues, fostering a unified brand identity.
• Develop a strong brand presence and establish comprehensive brand guidelines that reflect GLAN’s core values, emphasising the voices of affected communities in all communications. 

Senior Leadership Team (SLT)

• Serve as a key member of the senior management team, contributing to strategic decision-making and organisational planning.
• Represent the organisation externally at events, conferences, and meetings.
• Prepare communications updates and reports to the Board and relevant committees Work with SLT to improve impact measurement across GLAN.
• External stakeholders Be a Face of GLAN; building & cultivating tactical relationships and networks
• Develop a robust relationship management system to enhance engagement with key press contacts, partner organisations, related networks, and other critical stakeholders.

GENERAL RESPONSBILITIES

We are looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to support the Head of Membership Engagement in the overall development and delivery of commercial revenue streams at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. This will include all current sponsorship for conferences, including our flagship Fundraising Convention, corporate membership, and strategic partnerships. 

Job purpose:

• Recruiting, retaining, and developing corporate members.

Finance and Resources Manager (Full Time)

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.  

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

Your role

We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Leader to secure funding from diverse sources to support our program and initiatives. The ideal candidate has senior-level fundraising experience at an NGO, organisation, or charity, a strong and established network of executive relationships in major foundations, and a proven track record of identifying and closing deals in the range of 1-5 million USD. The fundraising leader will develop relationships with potential donors, identify fundraising opportunities, and manage the grant application process.

We seek someone who aligns with the DfG mission, has a passion for fundraising and can strategise and deliver new initiatives. The fundraiser will collaborate with program staff, and senior management to develop leads, compelling proposals and reports. The working environment is informal, team-oriented, and encourages individual input and development. Thereby supporting the execution of DfG’s impact driven program to improve life through design. Key Responsibilities

· Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors, program officers, and key stakeholders, serving as the main point of contact for grant inquiries, reporting, and communications. 

· Research: Identify and explore funding opportunities from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other potential donors whose interests align with our programs. Regularly monitor donor databases and other sources for announcements and opportunities.

· Applications & Fundraising Development: Lead the creation of high-quality grant proposals and letters of inquiry in collaboration with program staff, ensuring they are compelling, well-structured, and tailored to donor priorities. 

· Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all grants meet donor regulations, reporting requirements, and deadlines. Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and financial impact.

· Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the success of fundraising efforts, monitor progress toward revenue goals, and use data analysis to identify trends and inform strategy, providing regular updates and insights.

· Events, Networking, and Representation: Organize fundraising events and oversee volunteer and partner teams. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and boost resource mobilization.

Head of Operations

We’re looking for a Head of Operations to support the ongoing growth and development of an exciting charitable organisation.
 

Position: Head of Operations

Location: Remote, with occasional UK travel to meetings and events (travelling expenses and subsistence paid)

Hours: Part-time: 0.6FTE – 08.FTE

Contract: 2-year fixed-term contract

Salary: Up to £43,000 pro-rata depending on experience

About the role:

We are seeking a Head of Operations to work with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage a broad scope of operational functions, including workplace governance, people management, digital support, data and risk management. The Head of Operations will be a collaborative and hands-on professional with project and people management skills, a track record of operational change management, and the ability to inspire colleagues in new ways of working that ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Foundation - driving system, quality and process improvements.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

• Working with the CEO to deliver effective day-to-day operations for the organisation, managing the Operational Excellence Workstream and our approach to Quality.
• Oversee HR, culture and people function, including recruitment, retention, performance evaluation, employee learning & development, working with our external HR advisors when required.
• Promote a culture of equity, inclusion and collaboration, nurturing a positive and supportive environment for all.
• Embed cross-team working, building key relationships and highlighting synergies across our working practices to deliver efficiencies and improvements.
• Oversee compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, ensuring all policies are current and regularly reviewed, including annual review by trustees (e.g. GDPR, Charities Commission) and manage our Complaints process.
• Lead on the management and implementation of safeguarding - ensuring appropriate policies, training and guidance are regularly reviewed.
• Support the CEO in maintaining strong governance and adherence to best practices in charity governance and reporting, including keeping the risk register up to date and progressing actions.
• Produce management reports for the CEO and Trustees as required, supporting the Annual Report & Accounts production and Board of Trustees administration.
• Oversee cyber security and coordinate IT support services, including the Foundation’s IT and digital platforms – maintaining licenses, agreements and contracts.

Essential knowledge, skills & experience include:

• Previous experience in a Senior Operations management role, preferably in a charity or not-for-profit setting
• Strong leadership qualities to lead operations and fulfil an executive function
• Reliable with a high level of discretion and integrity – able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
• Excellent IT and digital skills including Microsoft Office 365. Skilled in using workplace systems including Teams and SharePoint
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Experience of managing compliance and risk, including safeguarding and GDPR – able to identify and respond to organisational risks
• Exceptional people management and coaching skills with experience of managing HR and L&D functions
• Excellent project management and organisational skills, able to multi-task with attention to detail
• Demonstrable commitment to ED&I, and actioning this through an inclusive culture and positive working practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Risk management: able to identify and manage organisational risks and operational issues

Elrha is a global organisation that finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We are looking to recruit a Digital and Creative Communications Manager on a 5 month paternity cover contract.

You will also use your skills to lead on communication activities for Elrha’s events to showcase the best of our work, and the work of those we fund. 

You will be given a high degree of autonomy in your work, so to be successful, you will need to be flexible, bold, and work well in a constantly changing environment. You will have strong organisation skills and experience of managing a varied workload while paying attention to the tiny details. 

Your application will need to demonstrate: 

• Experience of delivering high quality, impactful, and inclusive digital communications 

• An understanding of digital strategies, channels, and how different audiences engage with content 

• Excellent design judgement and attention to detail 

• Proven ability to lead and champion organisational branding, adhering to the highest standards of accessibility

• An interest in the humanitarian or development sectors, ideally demonstrated through academic qualifications and/or paid or voluntary work.

Experience of production project management and supporting high level event communications activities would be an advantage.

We have a job vacancy for a Dementia Specialist to join Shine as the Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator. 

Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just over 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows. 

We are looking for an experienced, skilled, organised and dedicated new staff member to join Shine’s Services team to develop and lead our new NPH service.
