Fundraising Coordinator

What is the role?

Homemaker Southwest provides independent advice and support to people who require help in finding, setting up or maintaining accommodation throughout Devon.

As a Money Advice Caseworker, you will be responsible for delivering high quality support services to clients across Devon, by telephone and face-to face, to sustain tenancies and prevent eviction wherever possible, with due regard to Homemaker’s policies and procedures.

You will have experience providing money advice to individuals at risk of homelessness and contemporary knowledge of debt solutions and welfare benefits.

Important qualities include strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and empower others, and the capacity to simplify complex information for clients. While most appointments will be conducted over the phone, some clients will require in-home visits, so the job demands flexibility to travel and work from different locations, necessitating the use of a personal vehicle

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Work with clients

• Ensure that clients receive a prompt and professional service.
• Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels: face-to-face, by phone, or by email. Seeing clients in office and at outreach locations and visiting clients in their own homes as required.
• Receive and respond to referrals from identified agencies in accordance with prevailing guidelines/funding.
• Provide support to clients including preparing accurate financial statements, budgeting advice, progression of debt options, advising on court proceedings for debt recovery and repossessions, and income maximisation to ensure take up of benefits and options such as backdating, overpayment and sanction challenges, appeals and representation if required.
• Keep the client at the centre of every case; check the client’s understanding and communication needs, agree on an action plan with clarity on who is doing what, encourage the client to be involved with actions as appropriate, keep the client informed of progress of case, and ensure cases are concluded in a positive way.
• Communicate and negotiate on clients’ behalf with third parties as appropriate.
• Give support in the sustainment of any tenancy, as appropriate.
• Ensure clients understand the terms of any tenancy or other legal obligation entered, or about to be entered into.
• Take a holistic approach to issues presented and signpost/refer to other services to help ensure that the advice and other support needs of the client are addressed appropriately.
• ·Ensure clients are encouraged to give feedback on the service they receive and take on any comments on ways we could improve the service.

Networking/Partnership

• Work closely with partner agencies
• Promote the services of the organisation to local housing, justice, social welfare, government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Contribute knowledge, expertise and ideas to appropriate local forums.

Administration

• Set up and maintain casework and other admin systems in accordance with organisation specifications.
• Maintain agreed monitoring and outcome information for commissioning agencies and internal management purposes.

Professional development

• Keep up to date with legislation, case law, and good practice in debt and welfare benefits advice, attending appropriate training courses, using online resources and reading relevant publications.
• Attend meetings as required by manager.
• Participate in staff development programmes, supervision and performance management meetings.

General

• Uphold the aims and principles of the organization.
• Comply with all the organisation’s published policies and procedures with attention to Health and Safety, Risk Management, Confidentiality, and Equal Opportunities.
• Comply with organisational, statutory and legislative requirements.
• Maintain regular contact with colleagues in Homemaker Southwest.

We are looking for a high performing leader, who will be able to develop marketing strategies, manage a large marcomms team and offer strategic advice to senior management.

Who we’re looking for:

As the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for developing The Brain Tumour Charity brand, devising new, and building on strong existing awareness campaigns and leading on capacity and marketing planning for integrated campaigns across The Charity.

You’ll help bring strategic thinking to the Marketing Team and be part of an Extended Leadership Team, balancing the needs of your own department with those of the wider mission and organisation whilst also supporting and developing your team.

You’ll oversee all branding activity to help us advance our mission and will be required to work closely with the fundraising and CX teams in The Charity to help deliver a sustainable model for funding and engagement.

You’ll be an experienced marketing professional with a good understanding of defining audience segmentations and building brand awareness, ideally within the health / research charity space.

Key accountabilities:

· Work with the Director of External Affairs and Strategy to  develop and lead marketing activity for all  parts of The Charity

· Manage design, copy and campaigns functions within the charity, including capacity planning and execution

· Build strong strategic relationships both inside and outside of the organisation, to form networks that will assist with the delivery our overall mission

· Develop and grow the brand with exciting new ideas that will meet our mission and raise our profile

· Work with the Extended Leadership Team to offer strategic advice to  contribute to the wider direction of The Charity

· Stay current with legal and regulatory frameworks, including; Data Protection legislation and the Code of Fundraising Practice, to ensure that all campaigns comply with current best practice in the industry

Experience:

· Experience in audience scoping and segmentation

· Successful history of delivering brand and high profile integrated campaigns

· Delivering brand and marketing annual planning

· Budget management  (multiple cost centres)

· 360  marketing experience (this role will manage marketing, creative and social/paid media teams)

· Implementing processes to plan and scheduling marketing capacity

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Brand and marketing expert—someone who can lead the marketing team to deliver against the objectives of our organisational strategy

· Solid understanding of brand positioning and its implementation across an organisation. Ideally will have worked on a brand re-fresh

· Has the ability to take the initiative and approach agencies/trustees for pro-bono work and can delve in and lead projects when needed but delegates effectively

Family Support Team Leader (Family Hub Outreach Service), 28 hours per week, £35,012 per annum pro-rata (including London weighting), Central & East London.  Fixed term to end March 2026

This is a highly rewarding role for a Team Leader to manage and coordinate the Outreach Service and other projects in Central & East London area, including recruitment, training and line management of staff and volunteers for the projects. The Team Leader will manage and deliver the Outreach service, for parents (of children 0-5 years) but this may change in future and will work closely with the Befriending Services.

We are looking for someone who have management experience for staff and can work under highly pressurised circumstances and competing demands. Experience of home visiting vulnerable families, excellent I.T skills and presentations skills with ability to engage with different audiences are essential.

You are required to have experience of writing reports to a high standard, collating data and information in an accessible format as well as ensuring can bring team on board to achieve targets and milestones in timely manner. Engaging in leadership meetings and representing Family Lives, experience of safeguarding and commitment to equal opportunities and diversity are essential.
