About Coram

Coram is committed to improving the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people. We support children and young people from birth to independence, creating a change that lasts a lifetime.

Coram is the UK’s oldest children’s charity founded by Thomas Coram in London helping vulnerable children and young people since 1739. Today, the Coram group helps more than one million children, young people, families and professionals every year by providing access to the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.

About the Coram Voice Independent Visitor Service

Coram Voice is a national independent children’s charity and is one of the leading agencies for children and young people in the UK. Coram Voice provides specialist expertise in the fields of advocacy, children’s rights, mental health, complaints, secure accommodation and experience of working with children in care, in custody, in need and those who have recently left care.

The Independent Visitor service recruits volunteers who befriend and spend time with a child or young person within Local Authority care. Our volunteers enjoy the challenge of building a lasting friendship and the children benefit greatly from a consistent, fun relationship with someone outside the care system.

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Recruitment Administrator to join the Coram Human Resources team. This role will be responsible for supporting the recruitment and onboarding process for the Coram Voice Independent Visitor Service.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator who is looking to develop their administrative skills or for someone who is looking to take their first step in a HR career. You will be joining an established and supportive HR team and will work closely with the national Independent Visitor Service team in Coram Voice.

In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of the recruitment lifecycle from advertising roles, safer recruitment checks and liaising with candidates and recruiting managers. You will play an integral role in providing a smooth and efficient onboarding experience for the volunteers joining the service.

We are looking for an individual who:

  • has experience of providing effective administrative support to a busy team;
    • strives to deliver an excellent service;
    • has strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate professionally to volunteers and build good working relationships at all levels;
    • has the enthusiasm and willingness to learn new skills;
  • is a team player with a professional, flexible, and positive approach to work;
  • can be flexible in order to support the needs of a busy department.

If this sounds like you - we’d love to hear from you!

More information about the role and its responsibilities and expectations can be found in the job description and person specification.
