Research Communications Officer (Part-time) 

Location: Hybrid working part London Office (Islington, London) part home work. The post holder will work a minimum of 1 day per week in the office.    

Salary: Pro-rata £31,175 per annum  
Hours: 28 hours per week (would consider 21 hours per week) 

Closing date: Tuesday 26 November 2024 at 10.00am 

Interview date: Tuesday 3 December 2024 

 

This is a part-time fixed term position for 12 months.

Who we are looking for 

 

We’re looking for a Research Communications Officer with a talent for turning complex research into compelling stories that inspire support for Breakthrough T1D’s mission to prevent, treat, and ultimately cure type 1 diabetes.  

As a natural communicator, your ability to understand diverse audiences and tailor messages will be essential in reaching potential donors, raising awareness, and engaging the T1D community.  

If you are detail-oriented, proactive and passionate about the power of storytelling to influence and engage, you may be the perfect fit for our team. 

 

Experience required 

  • Experience in research communications: Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible, and engaging content for diverse audiences. 

  • Digital and social media savvy: Strong understanding of digital engagement and content creation for social media, websites, newsletters, and other online platforms to drive awareness and engagement. 

  • Content development: Experience producing varied content for digital and print media, with a clear understanding of how to adapt style and messaging for specific channels and audiences. 

  • Stakeholder engagement: Experience collaborating with researchers, partners and people with lived experience to create meaningful content and insights. 

  • Data-driven decision making: Familiarity with content metrics and analysis tools to track engagement, using data to refine and improve communication.
