IT Support Engineer

Location: Hybrid working part London Office (Islington, London) part home-working. The post holder will work a minimum of two days a week in the office (with some weeks when three days will be required).  

Salary: £28,675 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week 

Closing date: Tuesday, 29 October 2024 at 10.00am 

Interview date: week commencing 4 November 2024 

This is a full-time permanent position.   

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to join our award-winning and forward-thinking type 1 diabetes charity, Breakthrough T1D, as part of the IT Team. In addition to sharpening your helpdesk skills, you’ll have hands-on involvement in our transition to a fully cloud-based infrastructure. You’ll work closely with the IT Manager to strengthen our cyber security posture and, where appropriate, contribute to shaping our organisational IT policies. Whether you’re troubleshooting technical issues, exploring new systems, or driving innovation, this role will empower you to take your IT career to the next level while making a real impact on the quality of the day to day working lives of your colleagues at Breakthrough T1D. 

Experience required

We are looking for a candidate with:

• a strong foundation in IT support and specific technical skills 

• experience working with Windows operating systems and standard desktop applications 

• experience administering Active Directory and M365 tenants 

• familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Azure, and Windows Server (2003-2019)  

• strong networking skills (DNS, routing, switching) 

• practical experience in a small IT team environment
