About the Angelou Centre
The Angelou Centre is a Black-led women’s organisation committed to empowering Black and racially minoritised women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. Our refuge provides trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and holistic support to help survivors heal, recover, and rebuild their lives.
As we grow and expand our refuge provision, we are looking for a dedicated Refuge Manager to oversee our safe accommodation services, including emergency housing, move-on accommodation, and specialist provisions for women with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).
Role Overview
The Refuge Manager will lead a team of Senior advocates and House Support Workers, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed support is provided to residents. The post-holder will ensure that the refuge operates in compliance with all statutory requirements, housing regulations, and health & safety standards. They will also be responsible for property management, working closely with landlords, housing associations, and local authorities.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced housing professional with a strong understanding of domestic abuse support services, safeguarding practices, and compliance obligations within the social housing sector.

Your Roles and Responsibilities, but Not Limited To:
- Lead, develop, and support staff you manage by offering advice, guidance and an inclusive working environment.

- Take responsibility for monitoring programme budgets, funding meetings and liaising with partners throughout the lifetime of projects/initiatives, ensuring that the Trust’s obligations detailed in contracts/SLA’s are met.
- Set appropriate budgets and oversee, manage, and monitor these, to ensure the targets are achieved.
- Work with the Community Director and funding officer to identify and submit relevant grants, funding applications, and tenders/bids for commissioned work.
- Secure funding and increase unrestricted income streams to support on-going programme delivery and sustainability of the department.
- Oversee the implementation of a robust, high-quality data capture process to ensure the department can evidence impact and social value of its programmes through a variety of methods such as reports, case studies, testimonies, media articles, and feedback surveys.
You Must Have:
- Significant experience of line managing, leading and developing staff and volunteers creating a strong team culture and inclusive working environment.
- Success in building relationships both internally and externally, working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Proven experience of working at management / leadership level.
- Experienced in project management, ability to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams and completing priorities.
- Sound experience of setting and managing budgets.
- Proven track record of securing funding for projects or initiatives including local, regional and national funders through partnership work and / or bid writing.
- Ability to identify trends and analyse data to inform decision making.
- An experience of leading, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and safeguarding.
- A level 3 (‘A’ Level or equivalent) qualification or higher in a health-related subject, or other relevant subject area.

You Ideally Would Have:

Role description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual to join our Fundraising Team as the Community Fundraiser. You will lead, plan, cost and deliver an exciting and varied community fundraising programme to grow income and a strong return on investment. You will need to work closely with the Director of Fundraising to shape the plans and resources required for the future.

Main Responsibilities:

The role
You’ll coordinate Build Up’s year-round programme of youth-led design and construction projects, managing two Construction Project Managers to deliver them. You’ll develop project ideas selected by our young people and support our team to set up strong working partnerships. Overseeing Build Up’s pipeline of new projects and working with our fundraisers and partners to bring them to fruition will be central to your role.

About the role
The post is part of the Billing Project, an initiative by the London Legal Support Trust, funded by The Legal Education Foundation, aimed at providing specialist support to the free advice sector in London. The project focuses on improving legal aid billing practices to reduce the backlog of unbilled files, enhance cashflow, and maximise income from legal work under legal aid.
This is the fourth iteration of the project, building on the success of pilots launched in 2017.
This project is a collaborative effort between advice agencies. The Billing Coordinator(s) will be employed by the lead organisation and work across other host organisations, with the allocation of time between these organisations to be determined and agreed upon. The Billing Coordinator(s) will also collaborate with other billing professionals in the sector, some of whom have participated in previous pilot projects. Peer-to-peer support will be available to the postholder, and specialist training will be provided to anyone looking to grow within the role.
The purpose of the role is to develop systems that improve the efficiency of costing and billing legal aid files, and to provide a crucial coordination role within the organisations, supporting existing staff in ensuring files are billed promptly and accurately while maximising income from legal aid.

The role
The Office Manager is a key role assisting the Director of Finance and Resources, in the delivery of a high quality and continuously improving service.
The post is part-time (21 hours per week) with a minimum expectation of working in the office between Tuesday and Thursday.
Office and IT responsibilities
■ To create and maintain a professional and efficient office environment.
■ Support IES staff as needed with IT issues – prioritise and escalate issues with Third Party IT Provider, maintain snagging list to recognise common/repeating issues, and provide staff training as needed.
■ To source, manage and maintain all IES equipment and be the main point of contact for staff equipment queries.

About the Investment team
The investment team is responsible for selecting portfolio partners, managing our investments in these partners and supporting them to improve and scale their impact.
The investment team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.
The team is made up of 18 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.

- Building trust-based relationships with charity leaders including CEOs, delivery staff and Programme / Impact leads, to become a valued advisor on practice improvement.
- Working closely with staff at our partners charities, providing guidance, thought partnership and capacity building.
- Working with Impact teams at charity partners to develop and refine impact management practices; data collection, dashboard development, performance review meetings, programme design and evaluation.
- Coaching charities' heads of functions (e.g. Director of Impact) to develop as leaders and help drive an impact-led approach within their organisations
- Curating pro- bono projects leveraging our large network of corporate volunteers to provide targeted support in key areas for our charity partners (e.g. strategy, marketing advice, financial analysis).
- Supporting Investment Directors with design and delivery of theory of change workshops, analysing charity impact data, developing and analysing pre-workshop surveys, facilitating workshops.
- Supporting Impetus’ quarterly peer learning forums for our charity partners, in particular the Impact Forum.

Investment team support
- Supporting/leading the annual cycle of identifying new investments - mapping the landscape of charities in thematic areas (e.g. Apprenticeships and Skills), identifying high potential charities though analysis of key impact and financial data and reviewing the current evidence base.
- Playing a key role in due diligence of new charities, reviewing charity information (quantitative and qualitative) and drawing insights about their suitability for investment; This includes considering impact and scale potential, financial stability and developing a business case for investment including identifying risks. Requires strong relationship management with potential charity partners.
- Developing knowledge and expertise in Education and Youth Employment, staying up to date on relevant sector developments.
- Working closely with the Public Affairs team and ensuring teams are integrated in their thinking and approach – both ensuring we are coordinated in our support to the sector and working on cross-team projects that support the wider Employment and Education sectors.
Support to the Impetus organisation
- Working collaboratively on Impetus’ public affairs and philanthropy objectives through input into case studies, research and policy campaigns, donor reports and events.

- Previous experience working with charities. Could be in a previous role, pro-bono volunteer or Trustee capacity.

- Financial acumen - financial modelling, fundraising pipeline development, review of annual accounts and assessment of financial risk.
- Project Management experience.
