Main tasks
- Consistently put the women and birthing people we work with at the heart of our charity, seeking their views, staying connected to our service offering, monitoring impact, and seeking to improve what we do.
- Oversee the operational delivery of our services on a day-to-day basis, keeping our team members and volunteers on track towards a shared aim.
- Manage and motivate our small team (and by extension our team of volunteers) in a respectful and engaging way, in line with all policy and procedure, to enable them to fulfil and expand into their roles.
- Proactively work with the Trustee Board to deliver excellent governance: building a strong relationship between the Board and the day-to-day operations, making sure the right systems and processes are in place and are adhered to.

- Manage the charity's finances: working directly with the Finance Officer and the treasurer to set financial aspirations, build effective fundraising pipelines, and then robustly manage daily financial activities with real attention to detail.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- A range of experience working in the statutory or third sector
- A thorough understanding of what makes for good charity governance, including setting up and operating effective processes for managing risk, finance, HR, data and information
- Skilled and personable manager and leader, able to motivate and manage team members and volunteers

The successful candidate will lead all aspects of Bliss’ financial management, including our strategic approach to financial and business planning as well as supporting effective delivery of our day-to-day financial systems and processes. You will also have overall responsibility for Bliss’ core organisational support functions of HR, IT, and facilities.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate who:
- Is a CCAB qualified (or equivalent) team leader with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Has significant accountancy experience, with knowledge and experience of charity finance
- Has a good understanding of the financial and governance aspects of a charity, particularly the application of Charity SORP
- Has a strong understanding of business functions including HR, contract management, IT systems, and office and administrative processes
- Will enjoy working collaboratively across an organisation to drive business planning and performance.
- Has the ability to motivate, manage performance and support professional development within the Finance and Operations team.

The role of Dose of Nature’s Development Manager is a permanent, high-level role which will continue to evolve as the work of Dose of Nature grows over the coming years. The post involves creating and implementing a fundraising strategy, supporting the Chief Executive with financial planning, and providing clear long-term direction to income generation.
The Development Manager will work directly with the Chief Executive to devise a long-term development strategy, identify and secure funding partners, and produce relevant and compelling funding proposals. Currently the main sources of funding are from trust and foundation grants and local council health care grants. Going forward the Development Manager will grow the funding stream from trusts and foundations and look to solidify the donations from locals. As the charity develops there will also be opportunities of securing funding from the corporate sector, helping to secure Dose of Nature’s future.
The role requires a focused and detail-oriented mindset, entrepreneurial flair, business development experience, excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, good time management and the ability to juggle several complicated tasks at once. It provides a fantastic opportunity for someone with a “can-do” attitude, someone who is passionate about supporting the aims of Dose of Nature and also who wants the freedom to make this role their own.
As with any small charity we hope to find someone who is multi-faceted in terms of their fundraising skill set, and within this, without being a communications specialist, we anticipate that the Development Manager will have experience of charity communications (although this is not the main focus of the role). Ideally the Development Manager will be able to help with creating a communications strategy, support communication tools such as newsletters and social media, and identify any opportunities that may help Dose of Nature grow.
Dose of Nature has an annual turnover of approximately £400,000, of which 75% is currently raised from trust and foundation grants along with donations from individuals. The Development Manager will be responsible for maintaining this income and also securing significant new funding during 2024-25. With a good network of local support, the Development Manager will have the advantage of having a database of supporters to work with and there is the potential to create an individual appeal or giving scheme. Currently the Chief Executive makes all funding applications to trusts and foundations and these relationships will be passed on to the Development Manager who will be expected to nurture these and secure grants from new sources.

Terms and Conditions
- Location: This role can be based at the MAF UK Offices in Folkstone, Kent or optionally could be in the Oxford, Cambridge arc as we seek to launch a new hub in the Milton Keynes area, maximising our engagement with a thriving local aerospace and charity sector region. Up to two days a week in our Folkstone Office might be initially required.We welcome hybrid working in line with our flexible working policy, the needs of the business, the requirements of the role and your location. This will be discussed at interview.
- Working Hours: This is a full time role (at least 36 hours per week, with 1 hour for lunch daily unpaid) but requiring some flexibility on the successful candidate to work additional hours occasionally some of which could be outside the normal business hours. Hours should be agreed with line manager.
- Travel: Flexibility will be required for working additional hours and travel to meet business needs (inlcuding overseas travel) or for travel/meetings on weekends or evenings.
- Annual Leave: Annual leave entitlement of 22 days per year and 8 paid public holidays per year.

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus.
Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up a fourth clinic in Gateshead and a fifth in Redbridge. Each clinic is a local CIO which runs in partnership with Growing Hope and the local church. We have worked with over 700 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings since we launched. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 500 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.
Growing Hope seeks a highly-motivated and experienced Director of Growth who is passionate about our mission. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth functions. This role will report to the CEO of the charity and will work closely as part of the Senior Leadership team. The Director of Growth will have oversight of Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth within the charity. This will involve line management of the Fundraising Manager and Executive Assistant in the team. The charity has a vision to champion accessibility UK wide and to set up twenty clinics in partnership with local churches by 2030, there’s a current pipeline in progress to achieve this. As the charity grows we want to ensure that we have strong financial strategy and growth plans which enable us to achieve our vision. As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. The role will be based in King’s Cross with occasional events outside of the office. We envisage the focus of the role to be split with a 40% focus on income generation, 20% on Clinic Growth and 20% on brand, marketing and PR, all aspects of the role will include leadership and management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow, but will include:
Leadership and Management:
- Working as part of the Senior Leadership team to strategically support the running of the charity.
- Providing line management for the Fundraising Manager, Executive Assistant and other potential members of the team as the charity grows.
- Leading and participating in prayer and worship with the team in line with Growing Hope’s Christian values.
- Ownership of income raising of £710,000 for the national charity with a view to growth each year. In addition to this an income of approximately £100,000 for each local clinic and ensuring that income targets are met across the national and local charities.
Fundraising Strategy & Finance:
- Lead the development and execution of long-term financial plans in close alignment with the charity’s strategic goals from a Fundraising perspective.
- Reporting monthly to the Growing Hope senior team and trustee board on income, forecasts and plans to hit income targets.
- Manging the fundraising, marketing and communications budget lines.
- Oversee the process of forecasting and planning income for analysis of the leadership team and Board of Trustees.
- Support fundraising strategy development and long term planning for growth.
- Explore and implement strategies for ensuring best use of charitable funds, and maintaining financial sustainability.
- Explore and implement innovative strategies to ensure that Growing Hope are raising funds as effectively as possible at both a national and a local level.
Marketing and Communication:
- Overseeing and developing Marketing and Communication strategy across the charity, including PR development, socials and internal and external communications.
- Oversight of projects and campaigns running across Growing Hope.
- Promoting the Growing Hope brand both internally and externally.
- Developing strategies to support staff with understanding and working to the Growing Hope values.
- Oversight of marketing and advertising on behalf of the charity.

ESSENTIAL

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

The Place exists to develop, nurture and celebrate dance ideas and experiences for all. People will flock to watch and enjoy dance in our theatre, on tour or online, study dance with some 250 of the most diverse and extraordinary dance artists at London Contemporary Dance School, or with other young people in our Centre for Advanced Training.
Our Development Team deliver transformational change in fundraising activities in order to support The Place to achieve it’s unprecedented vision for a 'world with more dance'. As we evolve our business model we have taken time to understand where the opportunities are in terms of sustainable future fundraising for The Place and, in particular, this role reflects our ambition to continue to grow individual giving. The Development Manager position is a key part of the team. Working with the Director of Development to meet the annual fundraising targets.
This is an open-ended permanent contract. This is a full-time position (equivalent to 40 hours per week). These hours are inclusive of a one-hour paid lunch break each day. Your hours of work will be agreed with the line manager.
Some of this post holder's key responsibilities will be to:
- Identify a pipeline of prospects to support the organisations artistic and education activities.
- Lead the development and delivery of creative and compelling cases for support from individuals as well as tailored cultivation plans.

As Grants & Development Officer you will work closely with the Management Team and be responsible for the successful grants and fundraising activity for core and project-based work, as well as developing new income generation opportunities.
Grants, Fundraising and Other Income Generation:
· Undertake regular prospect research to identify potential funding streams and prioritise opportunities based around local, community, and organisational need.
· Work with the Management Team, to identify, apply for and secure funding through appropriate and successful grant and tender applications.
· Maintain and strengthen relationships with current and future sponsors and supporters, including funding organisations and partners.
· Work with the Board and Management Team to help diversify our income sources to enable the organisation to continue its growth and demonstrate sustainability.
· Scope alternative / additional sources of funding, such as corporate sponsorship and membership opportunities.
· Research and develop new income generation opportunities, such as the setting up of a profit-making business(es) that donates its profit to the charity.
· Maintain and manage effective electronic records in support of all fundraising and grant application duties.
