The Finance and Operations Officer will provide general support to the Head of Finance and Operations across the following areas: 

Office Management

• Managing day-to-day relationship with landlord

• Ensuring office meets all health & safety requirements

• Managing purchases of stationery and office equipment 

• Booking meeting rooms

• Organising catering for internal meetings 

• Supporting with new office search and move to new premises

• Liaising with utility, cleaning and security providers in new premises if required

Human Resources

• Liaising with the external HR providers regarding employee documents

• Maintaining  employee personnel records ensuring that all annual leave and sick leave is recorded correctly

• Assisting in the recruitment of new posts

• Onboarding and welcoming new employees, including ensuring newcomers have the necessary IT and office equipment and access to the required IT systems 

• Coordinate annual staff surveys and collate responses

Operations

• Assisting the CEO and the wider team with administrative tasks

• Liaising with our external IT providers to ensuring all IT equipment is functioning and replaced when required

• Organising away days and other large meetings 

• Reviewing/renewing supplier contracts annually (including insurance provider)

Governance

• Organising Trustee meetings 

• Attending and taking notes at specific meetings (e.g. Trustee, Advisory Board, team away days)

• Updating the Charity Commission for changes in Trustees and submission of annual returns 

• Ensuring all policy documents are up to date and reviewed within the correct time frame 

Finance

• Processing invoices and expenses and coordinating twice monthly payment runs

• Reconciliation of the monthly corporate card bills

• Keeping the fixed asset register up-to-date

• Bank account administration 

• Collation of information for the auditors

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following skills and experiences: 

Essential

• Reliable, trustworthy and discreet

• Excellent organisational skills

• Confident user of Microsoft or Google packages, in particular excel spreadsheets or google sheets, Word or google docs

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Good numeracy skills 

Desirable

• Previous experience as personal assistant or office manager

• Previous bookkeeping experience including use of accounting software

Terms and Conditions

• Location: Money and Mental Health’s central London office for at least 2 days per week with option for home working the rest of the time. The office is wheelchair accessible.

• Hours: 3 to 4 days (22.5 to 30 hours) a week. The charity has a flexible working policy with core hours of 10am - 3pm and remaining contracted hours distributed throughout the week flexibly. We are open to discussing other flexible arrangements, such as accommodating school runs.

Benefits

• Holidays: 28 days p.a. (including 3 days of annual leave between Christmas and New Year when the office is closed) plus bank holidays, adjusted for the part-time nature of this post and therefore calculated on a pro rata basis.

A fantastic locum opportunity for support workers who have front line experience supporting rough sleepers. You will be working with guests in Crisis at Christmas hotel accommodation to establish move-ons and next steps after the project closes.

Whilst it is not possible to find an immediate housing solution for everyone in the hotels, we aim to give advice and next steps to every guest who stays with us. The Crisis at Christmas project benefits from huge support from the GLA and local authorities, drug & alcohol services and SIAS immigration lawyers from each of the 5 subregions. There is a huge opportunity at Christmas to engage clients who do not usually connect with services, and this is reflected in the offers of support they receive.

You will join the Development team at an exciting time for the School.  Under new leadership and with pupil numbers at an all-time high, fundraising continues to play a crucial role in securing the future of musical education and helping to develop the next generation of classical musicians.  Our strategy is focused on reaching out to new donors, as well as continuing to engage our loyal body of current supporters, including several engaged grant-making trusts and foundations.

You will build on an existing portfolio of organisations that donate between four and six-figures.  Your ability to develop significant, multi-year relationships with new trusts and foundations will be critical to your success.  The School has also previously secured a grant from the DCMS Culture Recovery Fund, managed by the Arts Council, opening the door to possible future funding from statutory sources, which would also fall under your responsibility.  This is a key role in making The Yehudi Menuhin School’s strategic priorities a reality on the ground.  You will need to be proactive, enterprising and systematic in approaching funders, and be able to engage and manage internal stakeholders.

The Immigration Adviser at LAH will provide advice and assistance on basic visa and immigration matters, including handling straightforward cases, often referred to as "initial advice" or "entry-level advice." You will assist LAH service users with applications within the immigration rules including visitor visas, Spouse and dependent visas, straightforward EU Settlement Scheme applications, extensions of leave and Settlement and British citizenship applications, offering advice on non-complex immigration rules and regulations, and explaining to LAH service users the relevant procedures, helping them to complete application forms and gather necessary supporting documents.

Job description
Main purpose of role
We are looking for a professional with at least 5 years’ experience in membership management, stakeholder engagement and events to lead our outreach and engagement activities for the Parkinson’s community across Europe.

Key tasks

• Strategic membership activities including:
  • Management of the Parkinson’s Europe Membership Steering Group
  • Leading Parkinson’s Europe membership recruitment and diversification
  • Reviewing and expanding Parkinson’s Europe membership benefits
  • Leading the development, delivery and analysis of the biannual Parkinson’s Europe members survey
  • Supporting the Parkinson’s Europe Member Liaison Lead with membership communications
• Outreach and engagement activities including:
  • Partnership support activities with relevant NGOs and institutions – for example, European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA), The European Patients’ Academy on Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI), and the European Patients’ Forum (EPF)
  • Engagement with other associations related to Parkinson’s that do not currently fit in our formal membership
  • Supporting the second phase development of Parkinson’s Europe’s newly launched Engagement Network
• Development of a new knowledge building programme for Parkinson’s Europe Member Organisations (which is a key feature of our new strategy for 2025 and beyond). This will involve:
  • Identification of members’ needs and priorities
  • Planning and delivering a structured programme of webinars, workshops and resources to support the identified needs and priorities. This will include:
    • Identifying and building relationships with speakers and facilitators with the help of the Parkinson’s Europe team
    • Identifying existing resources to help deliver the programme
    • Leading the development of new resources and tools for members
• Event management
  • Lead the development and delivery of a biannual Parkinson’s European Forum
  • Plan and lead the twice-yearly members meeting
  • Support the Director General and Board Secretary at the AGM as required
• Supervision of the Member Liaison Lead

Person specification

• Interest in the issues that impact people affected by Parkinson’s
• Membership management experience
• Project management experience as well as line management experience
• Experience of organising and running events
• An excellent communicator, and able to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from different countries including patient groups, patients, health professionals, caregivers and volunteers
• Team player and self motivated, and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• Excellent communications and IT skills with strong attention to detail
• Excellent command of the English language and ideally an additional European language

As the Supporter Engagement Officer, you’ll create opportunities for our amazing supporters to connect with and drive our work through various means of individual giving. You'll create engaging communucations, ensuring that our donors feel valued and understand the impact they're having on babies and their families, and you'll develop key appeals and individual giving activity to drive growth in these income streams.

You will:

1. Manage the development of individual giving income streams, including legacy giving, regular giving, one-off gifts, in memory giving and new products
2. Co-ordinate key engagement activity, such as the annual supporter Thankathon and Impact Report
3. Oversee administration and stewardship of individual giving income
4. Manage the promotion, sale and distribution of Lullaby Trust merchandise

This role can be offered as a hybrid role (with approximately one day per week in our London office) or fully remote, with occasional visits to the office for meetings or staff days as necessary; the two salary ranges above reflect this. The 21 hours could be worked across 3-5 days per week.

The Philanthropy Manager is a key member of the Philanthropy & Partner Engagement Department within War Child’s award-winning Fundraising team. Working closely with the Philanthropy Lead (line manager) and Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will manage a portfolio of major donors at 5- and 6-figure level to support a team target of c£1.4M.

Results oriented, you will have strong interpersonal and management skills together with a flexible and proactive approach. This is a great opportunity for a motivated relationship fundraiser with a passion for international development to join a successful and ambitious team.

As Philanthropy Manager, you will: 

• Identify and qualify a pipeline for up to 6-figure gifts for both unrestricted and restricted giving
• Lead and be supported on building an excellent stewardship programme, supporting relationship managers across the team to deliver sector leading supporter journeys
• Develop and implement strong cultivation and solicitation plans for existing donors to generate significant income from the portfolio. This will include personal meetings, attending networking events, writing proposals/reports and making presentations
• Take an active role where relevant, on the planning and delivery of a diverse portfolio of philanthropy events, including events that are hosted by Ambassadors

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Experienced in a similar fundraising role, with a knowledge of major donor fundraising, ideally within an international development or humantarian NGO
• Ability to input into fundraising strategies with a track record of securing 4-5 figure gifts and delivering against targets
• Experienced in stewardship strategies for major donors or the development of supporter journeys in order to retain donors
• A relationship focussed approach with strong networking skills at senior levels internally and externally
