Charisma is working in partnership with Guide Dogs to appoint their new Director of Guide Dog Service. Guide Dogs, the world’s largest assistance dog organisation, offer a wide range of services to support people living with a vision impairment. Their expert staff, dedicated volunteers and life-changing dogs help people with sight loss to live actively, independently, and well.
This senior leadership role helps people with sight loss to live the life they choose through the direction, delivery and development of the guide dog service. The postholder will cultivate a high-performance culture, and will be accountable for strategic oversight of breeding, puppy raising, dog training, creating/supporting partnerships, rehoming, and dog health to ensure the provision of a high-quality service that meets the needs of service users, and brings strategic goals to fruition.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Substantial track record of leadership at senior management level (or equivalent) in an organisation of comparable size and complexity.
- Experience of long-term service or operations planning to meet strategic objectives.
- Evidence of successful financial management.

About the role:
This role is home based, working 6 hours a day between 12-30 hours per week. Days and hours to be discussed, if successful.
There will be an initial induction period that will run for 3 consecutive days 9am-5pm in person at the National Contact Centre. After successfully completing your induction, you will move to your fixed rota, an example of an 18 hour rota is below:
Week 1 of rolling rota: Monday 14:00 to 20:00, Tuesday 16:00 to 22:00 & Thursday 08:00 to 14:00
Week 2 of rolling rota: Monday 08:00 to 14:00, Wednesday 08:00 to 14:00 & Sunday 17:00 to 23:00

As a Live Chat Support Worker you will be: -
- Able to respond to victims of and those affected by crime by providing emotional support, information and referral on to Victim Support services and other agencies
- Providing immediate emotional support, practical advice and trauma first aid referrals to victims of and those affected by major incidents and terrorism.
- Responsible for recording live chat conversations with victims of crime accurately and professionally, including recording all safeguarding actions taken.
- Responsible for taking disclosures and responding appropriately by either escalating the safeguarding concern to the 'Designated Safeguarding Officer' or to respond immediately to life threatening situations.
You will need:
- Experience of working in challenging and changing environments with the emphasis on excellence in service delivery.
- Experience of organising and prioritising a complex workload.
- The ability to deal sensitively with challenging and emotionally charged situations, demonstrate empathy and control own emotions.
- The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form and have competency in digital programmes (such as Microsoft)

This role can be based at any one of our centres; Harcombe House in Chudleigh, Devon, Jubilee House in Penrith, Cumbria or Marine Court in Littlehampton, East Sussex.
About the role
As a Triage and Support Officer within this team, you will be responsible for triaging incoming website or email enquiries, gathering key information, and assessing a service user for their eligibility and identify any immediate risks.
Through our triage process, you will assess cases based on key criteria to ensure those who have urgent needs are prioritised, and all cases are supported effectively alongside our Assessment Practitioners. You will offer initial advice, information and signposting, and make referrals where appropriate, to support service users to access the appropriate support available at Fire Fighters Charity.
This role requires clear and accurate documentation and communication skills to be used throughout the triage process. You will be working collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless transition into the relevant services.
This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
About you
Previous experience of working on a health and wellbeing helpline or support line, is essential. You will need experience of dealing directly with services users, providing them with advice, support and information.
You will also need to be familiar with triage processes or similar methodologies for assessing urgency and complexity of cases.
You will take a compassionate approach to supporting service users, demonstrating empathy and respect in all interactions, and you will need the ability to work independently and maintain accurate and confidential records.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Grants Associate will play a key role in supporting More in Common’s fundraising and grants management efforts across Europe. This fixed-term role (filling in for one of our colleagues who is going on parental leave) will focus on identifying new funding opportunities, developing relationships with funders, designing and managing multi-country grants, and providing fundraising and grants support to More in Common’s national teams.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Leading the development of multi-country proposals, including project design, team coordination, proposal writing, funder liaison, and providing fundraising support to country teams as needed
- Researching new funding opportunities, from a variety of sources, including foundations and public funds and staying abreast of developments in the philanthropic sector
- Working with More in Common’s Co-founders, Country Directors, and Head of Development to maintain and strengthen funder relationships
- Supporting priority multi-country projects, including project management, consortium or team collaboration, and facilitating learning
- Leading on reporting for strategic multi-country projects, working closely with country teams to gather information and tell the story of More in Common’s work

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
We look for great people before we look for specific qualifications and experience. However, the following will be an asset for this role:
- 2+ years of professional experience working with grants – e.g., grant making, grant management, as part of a development team, or other similar work. Specific roles matter less than demonstrated familiarity with the grant application process and grant requirements.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English
- French language fluency a plus; German, Portuguese, Polish or Spanish also beneficial
- Strong attention to detail

THE ROLE
• This role is a key role in the South West which will work alongside our Site Managers for the Woodland Trust South West estate. The role will be responsible for implementing and supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of the harvesting and forestry operations focusing on the Rainforest work on Dartmoor but will include some harvesting and infrastructure projects across the South West region.
• Actively plan, specify, tender, procure and supervise the implementation of contacts on the estate to the highest professional standard, ensuring full compliance with our FSC certification and following the Woodland Trusts Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• You will conduct qualitative standards, mapping, timber mensuration, tree inspections, tree safety management and other data gathering to support the delivery of operations throughout the estates.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, local communities, partners and volunteers to discuss plans and projects to allow the opportunity for them to share their views.
• You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to streamline procurement of services and increase efficiency through packaging works into multi-site and multi-year contracts.
• Project manage a range of projects and programmes ensuring they are completed to a timely manner and to a budget. As well as initiate, develop and project manage new innovative projects within and across the woodlands in your care, working with external partner and a cross-departmental team of foresters, people engagement specialists, communications specialists and funders.
• This role is known internally as “Contracts Manager” as shown in the Job Description.
• This role is based in Devon and will require the successful candidate to travel around the South West region.
THE CANDIDATE
• Qualified to HND/degree level in forestry, land management or other related field.
• Experience in managing forestry and land on sites of high conservation importance with experience in writing and reviewing harvesting plans.
• Experience in carrying out inspections, managing tree safety and dealing with tree pests and diseases, such as Ash Dieback, and dealing with issues appropriately as they arise.
• Understanding of planning consents, felling licenses, access agreements, EPS, EIA’s and other species consents.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbally, being able to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders, local communities, corporate organisations, partners and volunteers to gains opinions on projects.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, contracts and contractors and deliver projects on time and to a budget. You’ll have a positive approach and be able to prioritise, manage your own time and meet targets to tight deadlines.
• Understanding of FSC certification, UKWAS, CDM regulations and practical issues faced when managing woodland.
• This role does require regular travel around the South West region. A full driving licence is required. A company car is provided with this role.

Job Purpose
· To manage the delivery of Young Marketeers in Plymouth in four primary schools
Background to School Food Matters
School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.
Young Marketeers
This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!
Key Tasks include:
· Assist with recruitment of four schools to take part in Young Marketeers
· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project

The role of Communications and Marketing Coordinator sits within the Communications Team at Kids Matter. You would be working independently, with some travel around London and the UK, as well as occasional travel outside the UK. Supported by the London Director as well as the YLI UK Operations Team.
