This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Our aim is to support people who have recently been sleeping rough, or who may be experiencing long term homelessness and work with them to develop the skills, networks and confidence to live independently in the community.

In this role you will jointly manage the safe day to day running of the project with other members of the team and provide basic support and advice to clients. You will be the first point of contact at Reception for clients and visitors and have the opportunity to maintain a welcoming and supportive environment within the project. You will coordinate Health and Safety checks and administrative duties while working alongside the team to provide a person centred support to residents and clients.

About you

This role is ideal for people looking to develop a career in the sector; a number of current Managers started their career as Duty Workers. In addition you will have:

• Some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or clients or customers in a busy service environment and good communication skills.
• Personal experience of homelessness and/or an understanding of and empathy with the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people.

We’re looking for someone who is a strong leader and who plays an active and strategic role in the public fundraising leadership team and wider income generation planning activities.

You will:

• Have excellent sector knowledge of legacy and in memory giving that align to charitable goals and represent the brand.
• Thrive on developing relationships with internal teams, supporters and external agencies with excellent interpersonal skills when speaking to members of the public and colleagues about Gifts in Wills.
• Have end to end experience planning and delivering legacy and in memory activities that deliver against budgeted key performance indicators and have a strong working knowledge of fundraising compliance.
• Have a proven track record of successfully planning and delivering legacy and in memory giving programmes.
• Love talking to our amazing supporters about Scope’s work and have an excellent eye for stellar legacy and in memory giver stewardship.
• Understand the importance of an engaging case for support that motivates and encourages supporters to leave a gift in their will or in memory of a loved one and know how to embed a culture of legacy giving.
