About the role

This position involves supporting the Finance department by providing financial assistance to the Head of Finance in maintaining the organisation’s financial records and internal controls.

You will utilise your finance skills to ensure that transactions are accurately and promptly recorded, and you’ll assist in preparing high-quality month-end reports. You will also collaborate closely with the Finance Officer and wider teams to contribute to the organisation’s financial reporting and planning.

Key responsibilities

 Prepare monthly management accounts and internal reports for departmental managers and participate in regular review meetings; conduct variance analysis against budget and forecasts and provide commentary for senior management.

• Prepare, check, and submit end-of-month financial data to external accountants.
•  Respond to internal and external finance queries in a timely and professional manner.

As our Applications Specialist, you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting and maintaining our core business applications, ensuring systems are secure, up to date and delivering value. You’ll work across application patching, software deployment, licensing and compliance, with a strong focus on collaboration across teams and suppliers.

We’re looking for someone with experience in supporting enterprise applications, experienced with Microsoft Intune, who is highly organised and confident engaging with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Who we are looking for 

We care about building lasting relationships with our 21,000 active supporters and our database is critical in helping us to do that. For the right person, this is an opportunity to support our charity in using data to achieve our mission – to discover better treatments, expand access, and work towards a future free from type 1 diabetes. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to take responsibility for the delivery of several key functions within the Supporter Care and Operations team. You will be responsible for the importing of data into the database, making sure that our supporters and beneficiaries receive an excellent experience by inputting high quality data and ensuring that our database is accurate at all times. 

You’ll have knowledge of a relational database, excellent attention to detail and be skilled and comfortable in building good working relationships. 

The role also includes providing excellent service and delivery of supporter care and thanking supporters promptly and appropriately. 

Experience required 

• Database support experience (charity database preferred but not essential) 

• Experience of formatting and importing data to a database from external sources to agreed timescales 

• Experience of exporting, de-duping and formatting data from a large dataset 

• Experience of performing complex queries to identify records that meet criteria
