The new Head of Impact Partnerships (International) role will be responsible for overseeing the expansion of our grantmaking, our research, convening and campaigning work from the UK to our growth regions in the US (Miami, Austin, Las Vegas), Brazil and Italy.  The Head of Impact Partnerships (International) will identify, support and convene our charity partners to deliver a series of high quality, impactful projects that deliver on our mission. In the US, Brazil and Italy, our strategic goals are to support young people from underrepresented backgrounds into STEM careers and to mobilise the global network of motorsport employers to adopt inclusive recruitment and retention strategies.

The Policy and Public Affairs (PAPA) team is part of the Strategy and Knowledge Directorate at the NSPCC. The Directorate exists to help shape the world around us – and what the NSPCC does – so that it reflects what we have learned and can help keep children safe from abuse. The PAPA team develops and holds the NSPCC’s positions on key public policy issues and harnesses these to influence policy makers and external stakeholders across the UK. The PAPA team’s strategic focus is divided into five ‘workstreams’: child protection and children’s social care; early years; child sexual abuse; online safety; supporting young victims and witnesses.

We are now seeking a Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer to play a leading role in the online safety workstream to ensure legislative and policy frameworks in England and the UK are fit for purpose in preventing online abuse and harm to children.

You will join the team at a crucial moment for children in the UK and help us make the case for strong and ambitious regulation and legislation to ensure every child is safe online.

The Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer will lead the development of new policy positions and delivery of public affairs strategies to achieve regulatory, policy and legal change which tackles abuse and harm to children online. This will involve evidence-based policy development, being responsible for thematic policy areas, and playing a key role in forming and delivering public affairs and influencing strategies.

You’ll be able to demonstrate that you can hit the ground running and deliver high impact policy outputs and public affairs initiatives to ensure the NSPCC delivers real change in the best interests of children and continues to be seen as a credible and authoritative voice on online harms.

As an effective communicator you’ll have excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with a proven record of building in-depth knowledge of complex subject matter and developing a wide range of relationships to successfully influence policy decision making. Most of all, you will be passionate about preventing abuse and have a good understanding of challenges facing children and families in England.

Job purpose

The Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer will be responsible for undertaking public affairs and policy work to achieve the NSPCC’s strategic goals, using their skills and experience to strengthen the NSPCC’s impact on public policy, and in doing so make a significant contribution to keeping children safe online.

Main duties and responsibilities

· Develop and implement high impact public affairs and parliamentary strategies to support the delivery of our objectives to keep children safe online.

· Scope and deliver high quality, evidence-based policy outputs including briefings, position statements, and responses to consultations, developing innovative solutions to complex problems.

· Maintain a network of key contacts across parliament, the civil service, industry and civil society, using this network to amplify the NSPCC’s voice and maximise impact.

· Develop and maintain a high level of expertise on key policy areas, with lead responsibility for specified thematic areas.

· Analyse a wide range of primary and secondary sources of evidence (such as policy documents, academic literature and survey data) to develop innovative and evidence-based policy solutions to complex problems.

· Proactively identify threats and opportunities to our work programme, enabling the NSPCC to predict and react to changes in the external environment.

· Lead the delivery of NSPCC public affairs events, such as parliamentary receptions and roundtables (working with colleagues from across the organisation).

· Prepare high-quality briefings, summaries, and papers for internal and external audiences.

· Use strong project management skills to plan the delivery of policy development and aligned public affairs work, planning both your and colleagues’ time effectively.

· Represent the NSPCC on relevant internal and external advisory groups, meetings, and stakeholder events.

· Act as media spokesperson for the NSPCC on relevant subject areas, including live and pre-recorded broadcasts and interviews as well as background discussions with journalists on issues relating to policy expertise.

Person specification

1. Strong public affairs and influencing skills, including excellent knowledge of parliamentary processes, sound political judgement, and proven ability to influence and build support amongst a variety of stakeholders – including Parliamentarians, civil servants, and regulators.

2. Excellent policy development skills, with demonstrable experience forming credible, evidence-based positions and producing policy outputs on complex and highly nuanced subject matter.

3. Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clearly, concisely, and persuasively in a variety of formats for a range of audiences and very good oral presentation skills.

4. Strong analytical skills with proven ability to collate data from various sources, analyse findings and present them clearly and accurately to make a clear and compelling case for policy and legislative change.

5. Strong interpersonal skills to build and influence external networks and deal effectively and persuasively with internal and external stakeholders.

We have an exciting opportunity here at Barnardo's for experienced, enthusiastic and assertive Family Support Workers to join a brand-new team who will deliver the In Reach Hospital Emergency Department Family Support Programme.

The role is full time , 37 hours per week, permanent fixed term funded until March 2025 and will be based at the North Middlesex University Hospital, The entrance to the A&E department is in Bridport Road, Edmonton, London, N18 1QX.

Starting Salary Range - £28,565 - £30,607

Successful candidates will work in partnership with the clinical team to facilitate discharge of children aged 0-12 years from the Emergency Department where the clinical presentation is not acute and can be managed at home by local services.  

“This role requires workers to have experience of holistic ways of working with families and young people. Including assessment, support, signposting and making referrals to appropriate services where needed. The successful applicant will be able to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative and manage the pressures of working in both a busy emergency department and the community”

Some but not all of the key responsibilities are:

• Initial face-to face conversation or triage call to identify presenting issues and the level of intervention required.
• Delivering support flexibly and tailored to the needs of the family unit including telephone, virtual and face-to-face support and home visits where necessary. Contact with families could be a one-off or over weekly sessions based on level of need targeted. 
• Signposting to partner agencies, based on needs identified.
• Supporting families to navigate their way through referral pathways and enable them to access universal & targeted services.
• Where required advocating on behalf of families, supporting parents and carers to communicate with professional/Services.

More about the Programme

The In Reach Hospital Emergency Department Family Support Programme model offers a robust way of supporting often vulnerable families to uncover and address unmet need. Through identifying the underlying factors causing the clinical presentation and attendance, and addressing holistic needs of the family unit, we hope activity to unscheduled, primary and emergency care is dramatically and sustainably reduced.

The model is based on Family Support Workers based within Children's Emergency Departments, offering holistic, family-oriented support in a flexible manner either in-person, telephone- based and home visits to be able to address the underlying causes of repeated / avoidable ED attendances.

*Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to March 2025 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement.

** Please note the hours for this role will be required over a 5-day week and may be done in longer day shifts or with set times i.e. 8am to 4pm (to suit Emergency Department and community/family needs). Background

The European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) is one of the world’s pre-eminent symphony orchestras. An orchestra of dynamism, youthful energy, and passion shaped afresh each year with highly talented musicians from all 27 EU Member States. Recognised across the world for the excellence of its music-making, and for its success in nurturing the careers of generations of young musicians, the EUYO is always at the forefront, anticipating and reacting to the changing world around it, equipping its members for careers in that world and forging change within the classical music and cultural sectors.

For the past half-decade, the statutory public funding won by the EUYO was sufficient to finance its activities. Now, with a new base in Austria, an expanded programme, preparations for its 50th anniversary, and with the challenges of current general global uncertainty, the EUYO wishes to extend its revenue base by reigniting its previously strong tradition in private funding and corporate relationships, beginning with the recruitment of a Head of Development and Philanthropy. The Head of Development and Philanthropy will have responsibility for fundraising from corporates, individuals and trusts and foundations. The responsibility for the EUYO’s statutory public funding from EU, EU member state and local and regional public institutions will continue to be held by the Executive & Artistic Director and the Head of Executive & Finance. 

In order to assist this process, the last year 18 months have been used by the Orchestra to create and put in place new development processes and initial donors, including utilising a skilled volunteer Board level fundraising committee, setting up a cross border tax incentive scheme, creating a new bespoke CRM integrated with the Orchestra’s database, creating a new website support area, initiating new patrons and individuals programmes and the base strategy for a new alumni programme, and recruiting new initial corporate donors. Now, with all of these processes and achievements in place, the EUYO seeks a dynamic entrepreneurial fundraiser to help deliver the Orchestra’s exciting future programme, and over time, to grow a fundraising team as income generation builds.

Purpose of role

we are now seeking an exceptional Head of Development and Philanthropy to join that team. The

successful applicant will start at an exciting and pivotal moment.

Reporting to the Executive and Artistic Director, this role will suit a dynamic, ambitious, collegiate and entrepreneurial individual. Working in close collaboration with colleagues, you will be responsible for shaping the nature of the EUYO’s fundraising. You will help us to effectively cultivate, solicit and steward the EUYO’s current donors and sponsors and identify and bring on board new donors and sponsors, working with a wide and diverse variety of stakeholders and audiences.

Primary responsibilities

Key responsibilities

• Continued delivery of the organisation’s fundraising strategy, alongside the opportunity to also develop, rethink and remould it, all in consultation with the Executive and Artistic Director and with the support of our Fundraising Committee, Board, Advisory Council and key stakeholders across the EU.
• Build on EUYO’s compelling case for support and identify specific projects which align with the EUYO’s strategic plan, and which demonstrate the difference that philanthropy will make in delivering on the mission.
• Work with the Executive and Artistic Director and the Head of Communications and Advocacy to ensure together a cohesive integrated public facing language for the organisation in its communications, balancing the needs of different audiences
• Sustain a range of giving programmes: membership, appeals and major giving opportunities which appeal to donors and can be delivered with available resources.
• Ensure systems for renewal of current supporters and developing a pipeline of future donors, which includes a range of corporates, individuals, and trusts and foundations.
• Work with the Fundraising Committee to develop annual appeals and create a strategic plan for the 50th Anniversary Appeal.
• Work with the finance team to analyse the effectiveness of different fundraising initiatives, manage budgets and support financial reporting.
• Co-ordinate monitoring, evaluation and reporting for all non-funded projects, with EUYO colleagues.
• Regularly circulate information about the EUYO engagements and initiatives to Directors, corporate supporters, and donors.
• Maintain positive working relationship with all internal and external stakeholders.

Governance and finance

• Keep up to date with changes in fundraising regulation and ensure implementation where required.
• Work with the Head of Executive and Finance to set and manage expenditure and report on ROI.  
• Manage quarterly Fundraising Committee meetings in conjunction with the Committee Chair.
• Work with the Fundraising Committee to research new potential committee members.
• Regularly review the Fundraising Policy and associated policies.
• Ensure appropriate fundraising due diligence is completed when appropriate.
• Ensure the EUYO is operating best practice in its fundraising, keeping up to date with any changes in compliance, legislation, and fundraising methodologies.
• Keep up to date on tax matters relating to charitable giving, ensuring the EUYO is maximising income from tax concessions.
• Work with the Communications Team to source suitable donation platforms and software and maintain the EUYO’s fundraising database.
• Work with the Communications Team to manage the fundraising complaints register.

Individual giving

• Build on and develop the current major donor strategy to secure long term support.
• Manage the EUYO’s membership and patron’s programmes with the support of the Communications Team.
• Manage existing donor membership schemes and increase membership year-on-year.
• Research and cultivate a pool of prospective individual donors in conjunction with the Executive and Artistic Director, Trustees and Directors and maintain close relationships with existing donors.
• Build on and develop an annual appeal for individual donors.
• Devise new ways of attracting donors using the EUYO’s website and social media channels, beneficiaries and alumni.

Corporate giving

• Develop a healthy prospect list of companies, both nationally and internationally.
• Develop corporate sponsorship and partnership proposals.
• Work with the Executive and Artistic Director, Fundraising Committee, Board and Advisory Council to cultivate and steward corporate partners.
• Explore the potential of corporate membership and, if implemented, administer and service the Corporate Membership Scheme, maintaining close relationships with the members’ nominated contacts, circulating information, and ensuring that members enjoy the full extent of the benefits.
• Ensure all corporate partners and sponsors receive appropriate reports as required and in a timely manner.

Trusts and foundations

• Develop a pipeline of trusts and foundation prospects, working with the Executive and Artistic Director and the Head of Executive and Finance to develop appropriate resource for this new pipeline of prospects where necessary.
• Research and apply for funding from trusts and foundations.
• Work with the EUYO colleagues to measure impact and outputs from grant funding.
• Monitor delivery progress and ensure reporting according to grant funding requirements.
• Maintain relationships with trusts and foundations who are already giving to the EUYO, keeping them informed of the EUYO’s activities and of the results and benefits generated by their donation.

Profile

• 5-10 years’ experience in fundraising within the arts and cultural sector.
• Experience in implementing a fundraising strategy.

• Experience in producing persuasive fundraising case for support and other fundraising marketing material.
• Prior experience in tax-effective giving and fundraising regulation across the European Union.
• Proven track record in building relationships and engaging with key stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrable knowledge of creating solicitation and stewardship plans.
• Experience in researching and developing new prospects, uncover untapped markets and sources of funding.
• Experience of working on annual appeal fundraising campaigns.
• Experience in managing budgets.

Skills

Overview of the role

The new role of Senior Fundraising Officer offers a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious fundraiser to join our successful Development Team and play a key role in helping us grow the reach and impact of our coaching programmes for young people.

We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, corporate donors or high-net worth individuals. Our ideal candidate will be an excellent writer with experience in drafting grant applications and reports. They will also be interested in advancing their fundraising career in a collaborative team, with coaching and personal development at its heart.

As Senior Fundraising Officer, you will work flexibly across all our income streams, securing grants and stewarding relationships with trusts and foundations, corporate partners, statutory agencies, and high-net worth individuals. You will bring excellent research and writing skills in relation to the highest standard of application and report writing, as well as ensuring outstanding stewardship of our established portfolio of funders.

You will develop strong relationships internally to facilitate a collaborative approach to fundraising, working closely with our team of Business Partnership Managers, who coordinate 'Ready for Work' activities with our corporate partners and their foundations, as well as developing funding applications and reports alongside our delivery and impact teams and our young people.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with healthy pressure within a supportive team culture and will be able to maintain a high level of productivity, pace and resilience in what is a challenging funding environment. Xenia is a grassroots women’s organisation on a mission to create more inclusive, equal and welcoming communities. We deliver weekly workshops in London and Sheffield which support women from all backgrounds, ages, faiths, cultures and immigration statuses to share, connect and learn together. 

Participants are at the heart of the Xenia community. Migrant, refugee, asylum seeking, and British women come together as active equals at our workshops where we use the arts, heritage and power of conversation to connect, learn from each other and take part in local civic life. Together we create a community that supports practising spoken English, reduces social isolation, connects different cultures, and gives underrepresented women access to civic and democratic opportunities. 

As an organisation Xenia is non-hierarchical and participatory, meaning decisions are made collectively and are proactively informed by participant involvement. The organisation is run by an Organising Team, made up of a small number of staff (currently 5) and volunteers and the trustee board. We aim to be true to our values that everyone has something to teach and everyone has something to learn. We do not have managers and instead operate in a flatter structure in which everyone contributes to running the organisation.

Job Description for Fundraising and Development Organiser:

Key responsibilities

• Fundraising

  • Securing circa £130k per year from a range of sources. This includes submitting applications to trusts, foundations. It may also include maintaining major donor relationships, and establishing new relationships and leading on public fundraising campaigns. 

  • Developing other sources of income generation as agreed with the Finance & Fundraising sub-group

  • Work with the team to develop Communications and Fundraising Strategies, with support from Organising Team members and Trustees

• Grant management

  • Liaison with funders and donors

  • In collaboration with Delivery Organisers: coordination & submission of grant reporting, monitoring grant deadlines and submission requirements

  • In collaboration with Operations Organiser: putting together grant budgets and monitoring grant allocations

Strategic partnerships and external relations

• Developing professional strategic relationships with the wider sector

• Writing blogs, speaking at conferences, contributing to sector discussions

• Being a spokesperson for Xenia at events

Communications

We are seeking an experienced fundraiser who is enthusiastic about helping us to achieve our ambition to scale by growing our income and supporters. 

This is a new role, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape our strategy across all funding streams.  As a small charity, we are looking for someone that will bring extensive knowledge about fundraising and managing the operational aspects of the role, e.g. CRM management and compliance, to help us increase income and cultivate supporters.

About the role

The Programme Manager will work in the Centre for Ageing Better’s Homes team.

Currently, millions of older people are living in homes that are unsafe – cold, damp, mouldy or with other types of hazards. The Homes team run a series of innovation, research, peer-support and influencing projects, that all seek to ensure that no one lives in a home that endangers their health, wellbeing or financial security. We work across local and national government and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.

The postholder would be responsible for collaborating with colleagues in the design, commissioning and delivery of a number of projects. The Programme Manager will use their creativity and experience to design work that has a clear route to impact, ensuring that everything we do has a traceable link back to the people we are trying to support.

The role will also require that effective programme management processes are followed to ensure effective, timely and impactful projects (e.g. milestone planning, budget management, risk, stakeholder engagement and delivery).

About you

You will be committed to trying to tackle the housing crisis, particularly for older people at risk of poverty, ill-health and facing discrimination. Knowledge of the current housing landscape and/or ageing issues would be an advantage but is not essential.

It is important that you can demonstrate excellent project management skills, designing and delivering projects that have a clear route to impact. Working collaboratively with others and experience writing and communicating complex ideas in an accessible way are essential.

You are likely to be overseeing projects that stimulate change at the local level through supporting service redesign processes, innovation practices and evaluation. Therefore, we are particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience working with organisations to adopt new practices or undertake service redesign, and/or who have commissioned or participated in evaluations.

Lead Music Therapist

Coram Parenting and Creative Therapy Service

Contract: Permanent, 28-35 hours days per week, 4-5 days per week

Location: Coram campus, London

Coram Parenting and Creative Therapy Service offers art, music and drama therapy, therapeutic parenting, clinical psychology and family therapy to children and families at our dedicated creative therapies centre and in schools.  We work primarily with adoptive and connected carer families, and children who have low level mental health difficulties.  We are a trauma-informed service and have specialist expertise in neuro-diversity and children with special education needs. The well-established team has a strong track record in therapeutic interventions, including music therapy, art therapy and narrative therapy based multi-family groups for younger children who are adopted or with a Special Guardianship Order.  We have a purpose built therapy building and have recently built a music studio for our adolescent work.  We work within very diverse communities and we consciously challenge ourselves and our practice, seeking at all times to be inclusive and anti-racist. About the role

We are seeking an experienced HCPC qualified Music Therapist to provide leadership, supervision and management of music therapists and other creative therapists in the service.  You will carry out therapeutic multi-disciplinary assessments and music therapy interventions with adopted and Special Guardianship Order families.  This work involves trauma informed approaches, family work and life story work.  The team is led by a Clinical Psychologist and provides creative, relational, and evidence based approaches, collaborating with wider networks and reaching schools and communities to inform child centred and trauma informed practice. The post holder will receive supervision by a highly qualified Music therapist, and be line managed by a Clinical Psychologist.   The post offers a unique opportunity to work alongside skilled creative and family therapists. We seek to empower children and families using strengths based narratives, as well as accepting vulnerability and seeking opportunity for connection, strengthening resilience and support. 

The successful candidate will be experienced at working with managing and supervising therapists, developmental trauma, and child and family work and operates with initiative and responsiveness in a dynamic professional environment.   A background in CAMHS and/or a social care services would be desirable, with a good understanding of safeguarding planning and managing highly emotive situations. Experience of running multi-family groups would be an advantage. This role requires a supportive professional, a team player, who enjoys working in a diverse, respectful and challenging team.
