We are seeking a full-time Primary Science Mentor to join our team of experts. Through your knowledge of and passion for primary science education, you will inspire transformational change in schools.

You'll be home based and able to support schools in one of the following regions: East Midlands, North East England, North West England or South Wales Valleys.

About the Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT)

PSTT is a registered charity with a clear vision – we want to see excellent teaching of science in every primary classroom in the UK. We believe it is vital that children are engaged and inspired by science from an early age. We want to draw on their natural curiosity to help them explore, understand and ask questions about the world around them.

We’ve built a Primary Science Teacher College of over 200 outstanding teachers; each helping to shape and influence science teaching across the UK. We produce great resources that improve how science is taught and planned. We organise engaging professional learning events for teachers, and work with partner organisations to further enhance how science is taught. Our 2023-28 strategy is building on these strengths to reach more teachers across a more diverse range of schools.

We’re dedicating our most intensive efforts to areas of the UK requiring most development in primary science. Our Priority Areas initiative is being piloted in 30 schools, and in September 2025 we plan to launch this programme in a further 30 schools. Our Regional Mentors have worked with more than 3,000 schools across England, with exceptionally positive feedback.

Job summary

There are two parts to the Primary Science Mentor role. The majority of the role will focus on strengthening primary science teaching and leadership by leading our second Priority Areas initiative. Through their knowledge of and passion for primary science education, the successful candidate will inspire transformational change in schools taking part in this project. They will build close working relationships with participating schools and create a vibrant and exciting learning community based on mutual support and the sharing of expertise.

The remaining hours in the role will be as a Regional Mentor: joining PSTT’s growing team of primary science experts who provide bespoke support directly to individual schools, multi-academy trusts and other school groupings and organisations. This includes developing and delivering training in a variety of contexts, including online; working individually with Science Leaders; being a leading voice, expert and advocate for primary science (both regionally and nationally); and creating partnerships with other organisations that support science within the region.

A crucial part of the role is to ensure collection of appropriate data for both Priority Areas and Regional Mentor activities, so that we can evaluate our work against intended outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.​
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.​
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective. ​
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.​

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by The Mount, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community.
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.

Site management and set-up

• Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening.​
• Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.​.
• Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

Frazzled is a small mental health and wellbeing charity founded by Ruby Wax OBE, that provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where people who are feeling frazzled and overwhelmed by the stresses of modern life can meet on a regular basis to talk and share their personal stories. 

We run our free meetings online every single day of the year for anyone who needs them, and anyone can book and be included to talk, share, listen and to feel heard.

As part of our exciting plans for growth, we are seeking a Fundraising Lead to drive the organisation’s fundraising to fulfil our mission and play a key role in supporting the next phase of Frazzled’s growth and development. 

You will be responsible for developing and delivering an ambitious fundraising strategy with a range of fundraising activities focusing primarily on trusts and foundations but also individual donors, corporate partners and fundraising campaigns.

This is an exciting, creative and flexible opportunity for the right person. The ideal candidate is someone with a demonstrable successful track record in fundraising, alongside the skills of a talented and persuasive communicator and relationship builder. They will be creative, solution focussed, willing to get stuck in and have good humour.

MAIN TASKS

Fundraising

• Lead on developing and delivering an annual fundraising strategy to support our ambitious plans for growth, securing a minimum of £250k per year from Trusts and Foundations, individual donors, fundraising events and campaigns, and corporate partnerships. 
• Research and generate a pipeline of funding applications, including multi-year grant opportunities from Trusts and Foundations
• Lead on writing compelling applications and conversations with funders, talking persuasively and informatively about Frazzled’s work and impact
• Work with the CEO and trustees to develop new relationships with individual donors and strengthen partnerships with existing supporters
• Work with the CEO and Head of Training and Programmes to develop new opportunities for corporate sponsorship and partnerships
• Lead on organising fundraising events such as dinners with major funders and initiate and develop other opportunities for fundraising.
• Lead on Frazzled’s annual Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign and identify any other fundraising campaign opportunities throughout the year, with support from the Project Support and Administration Officer
• Prepare regular reports and updates for our funders and trustees, engaging them with our work and the impact of their support
• Ensure that Frazzled’s fundraising work is GDPR compliant and meets best practice standards.

Other:

• Work with and support the Project Support and Administrative Officer in relevant fundraising tasks, delegating where appropriate.
• Participation in other projects/initiatives as required as a core member of the management team
• A willingness to engage fully with our programme to ensure the post holder can speak confidently about delivery

Person Specification:

• Proven experience of successfully developing and implementing a fundraising strategy
• A demonstrable track record in writing successful funding applications and securing funds, including multi-year grants, from grant-making organisations

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Worker who will support the Diocesan Safeguarding Team in the delivery of case work, cold case reviews and management of casework recording.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to work independently to review the files and evaluate the content. Experience of working in a safeguarding environment will be an advantage.

This role focusses on raising funds for Bowel Research UKs medical research projects and work that focuses on patient and public involvement. Funds raised will be a mix of restricted project funding and unrestricted funds that can support the organisations core operations.

You will need to work closely with colleagues in Research and Patient & Public Involvement to ensure you have a strong understanding of current funding needs and research successes. You will take the lead on seeking out new prospects and nurturing existing relationships to significantly grow income. You will achieve this by researching sources of funding, devising individually tailored applications, maintaining excellent communications with existing and potential donor trusts and foundations, delivering an agreed income target as well as growing funding from these sources.

The role will include researching relevant opportunities, identifying the most appropriate projects, writing and submitting applications and ensuring excellent donor management, development and reporting. Trusts and Foundations income is a cornerstone of Bowel Research UKs charitable income each year and is responsible for around a third of fundraised income. The organisation has assessed the trusts' function recently, the outcome of which shows that there is scope to significantly grow this area of activity. Full support will be given to the Trust Fundraising Manager to enable this growth to happen.

You will be a motivated self-starter able to write, budget and communicate effectively. You will develop relationships with ease and feel able to positively influence colleagues at all levels of an organisation. The position requires someone with a positive attitude who is determined and resilient.

Responsibilities

• Collaborative Strategy Execution: Works closely with the UK Managing Director, incorporating programmatic priorities for developing key funding partnerships, to align and execute the trusts and foundations fundraising strategy.
• Strategic Growth & Income Diversification: Supports the development of and executes a growth strategy to increase trust and foundation income, leveraging both existing and new opportunities, including institutional fundraising and government funding where relevant.
• Prospecting & Pipeline Development: Proactively identifies, researches, and cultivates new trust and foundation prospects to expand the current portfolio and drive significant new revenue growth in alignment with fundraising targets.
• Relationship Management & Stewardship: Establishes, nurtures, and manages strong relationships with trust and foundation donors, ensuring tailored engagement, timely reporting, and strategic alignment with donor priorities to maximize long-term support.

How are staff supported to work remotely?

Purpose of role:

To work in partnership with the Head of Training and Qualifications and other colleagues to ensure effective delivery, monitoring and Internal Quality Assurance of Bild BTEC qualifications including Certificates and Diplomas.

Role Summary:

The Qualifications Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of Qualifications & Diplomas throughout BILD and the RRN and to assist with the vision of becoming the qualification provider of choice for Learning Disability and/ or Autism Professionals and Providers.

The Qualifications Coordinator will lead on Internal Quality Assurance and other processes to ensure that the requirements of awarding bodies/assessment centres are fully met.

This is a key new role within the Internal Services directorate, offering a brilliant opportunity for an experienced audit professional to shape and deliver a strategic approach to risk, assurance and fraud prevention across the organisation.

As Internal Audit & Counter Fraud Manager, you’ll work directly with the Head of Internal Audit & Counter Fraud, and be responsible for managing a robust programme of internal audits, producing actionable insights, and ensuring a culture of strong internal control. You will also lead on counter-fraud strategy, oversee investigations, and provide trusted advice to stakeholders across all levels, including the Board.

The successful candidate will bring significant experience in internal audit, risk or assurance in large, complex environments — ideally with exposure to both financial and operational audits. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently while keeping the wider organisation’s goals in view.

When a local service was withdrawn, parents came together to raise funds themselves to keep the vital provision going for their children. Stick ‘n’ Step now provides support to over 100 children and their families every week, and offers an incredible range of sessions enabling each child to reach their potential and tackle their personal goals.

The Role

The Regional Fundraiser will be responsible for growing income by working proactively across the region. The main duties will include:

• Nurturing relationships with community groups, schools, local business and third parties.
• Recruiting, motivating and supporting volunteers.  
• Working collaboratively to meet individual targets, as well as team targets and objectives.
• Contributing to the fundraising strategy to achieve long term growth.

The Person

Ideally we are looking for someone with experience in a professional fundraising role. However, Stick ‘n’ Step are flexible and will consider applicants with the relevant transferable skills. Most importantly you should be empathetic and enthusiastic about raising vital funds to support children with disabilities.

You must have:

• Proven experience in meeting and exceeding financial and non-financial targets.
• The ability to inspire people through public speaking and networking.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
