- Lead engagement with the Welsh Government and MSs

- Support engagement with the UK Parliament

- Monitor parliamentary activity daily and conducting online research

About the Advocacy team:

You will be working as part of the Advocacy & Government Relations team in the Advocacy & Influence Directorate. The team is made up of 8 members who work across the whole of the UK speaking up for cats. Our campaigns change laws to better protect the health and welfare of cats.

What we’re looking for in our Advocacy and Government Relations Officer for Wales:

- Experience of advocacy, public affairs or influencing work (which may include campaigns), ideally in Wales

- Lives within a commutable distance of Cardiff or willing to relocate to the area

- Experience of policy work and research

- Experience of dealing with high profile/ VIP individuals e.g. Ministers, MSs, MPs, MSPs, MLAs, Government Officials, Local Councillors and officers, corporate executives; professional organisations

- Proven ability to multi-task and work independently on own initiative, accurately and under pressure

- Experience of effective use of social media and the internet in an advocacy/campaign context

- A confident communicator with good written and oral skills; and great people skills

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable

The Role

The Senior Practical Support Officer role is key to the delivery of NCVO’s support for small charities. You will be a key part of a small team, with a focus on managing and responding to enquiries that come in via phone and email to our Small Charity Helpdesk. We receive 400 – 500 enquiries a month about setting up and running a charity, with a particular focus on volunteering and governance.

Alongside the helpdesk you will also work with colleagues across NCVO on the production, and curation of content for our website and with internal and external stakeholders to produce sector leading practical webinars.

You will have a particular focus on volunteering, working with multiple stakeholders on a range of cross-organisational initiatives to ensure we develop and share best practice on involving volunteers.

Your good working knowledge of the voluntary sector, understanding of the specific needs of small charities and sharp focus on delivering excellent customer service will help us to effectively respond to the needs of the sector.

We’re looking for an experienced social media professional who has the expertise to lead the delivery of the RNLI’s social media strategy and approaches across both paid and organic, advising and supporting a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation in order to help save lives at sea.

We are a 24/7 emergency service. You will be required to occasionally be part of the social media rota system which includes shifts between 9am-8pm (Monday to Friday) and some weekend working.

About you

To be considered for the Senior Social Media Manager role, you will have substantial experience leading on organic and paid content and the strategic use of social media within a large organisation, as well as experience of line management and stakeholder management.

Our Head of Children, Young People and Families leads the work of our Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) service and the Building Young Brixton (BYB) Partnership, and is a key part of the Senior Leadership team at High Trees, helping us achieve our ambitions across the board.

You will be based at Tulse Hill Adventure Playground, and as a strong and inspiring manager you will lead a team of youth and play practitioners to deliver a range of dynamic, exciting, and meaningful services, ensuring the children who need them most are supported to play, develop, and thrive. You will bring enthusiasm and passion to ensure an exceptional service for the children and young people we work with and continue to inspire your team, and the wider Building Young Brixton team, to grow and expand our reach.

In order to achieve this you will have an excellent understanding of the landscape in which charities deliver their services and the statutory and funding frameworks within which we operate.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the day to day running of the first Night Shelter in the London Borough of Sutton since 2020.

You will lead the project managing an assistant and also overseeing venue leaders and a team of volunteers.

You will be first point of contact for guests and be main point of referral for external partners.

Our vision is to see people move on into more settled accommodation so you will coordinate the involvement of external partners and signpost accordingly.

As a Christian organisation faith is a key driver in all we do. The coordinator will have pastoral responsibility for venue leaders and volunteer and the shelter assistant. The coordinator will lead by example in prayer and Christian conduct.

We are accountable and responsible for gathering, analysing, contributing, and mobilising evidence and insight to strengthen the case for dementia across the UK - bringing this to bear to our people in Alzheimer’s Society and the dementia system locally and nationally.
We are evidence and data-driven, factual, and solution-focused.  Our strategic evidence base will ensure that Society’s decisions and interpretation of dementia and the system are based on the highest quality of dementia evidence and will:

- Demonstrate the scale of dementia in the UK.
- Demonstrate the impact of dementia on the system and those affected by the disease.
- Underpin the response of Alzheimer’s Society and the wider system to the big challenges dementia poses.

As our Strategic Evidence Assistant, you will support the Strategic Evidence team in gathering, analysing, contributing, and mobilising evidence, data, and insight to help build and curate a strategic evidence base that is built on the most recent and best available dementia evidence. You will also be part of an even larger Evidence, Policy and Influencing function, which is laser-focused on ending the devastation of dementia through changing policy. Integration and teamwork are everything in this role – with colleagues internally and with the system externally.
You will:

- Contribute to the delivery and monitoring of evidence projects that help to build our strategic evidence base, including reviewing and gathering different types of evidence to help us understand the scale and impact of dementia across the UK.
 
- Be pivotal in making strategic evidence for everyone’s business – to our people and the external dementia system. You will be solution-focused, supporting and monitoring processes and activities to mobilise and deploy our strategic evidence.
 
- Use your understanding of our strategic evidence base to support the preparation of briefings, reports, and other creative assets.
  - Support integrated working across the Evidence, Policy and Influencing department, working alongside Policy, and Influencing assistants, with a particular focus on facilitating events, monitoring, internal and external communications and database management.

We have a new opening for a Data Officer to join Animals Asia, working within their Data, Technology and Insight Team and reporting to the CRM and Data Manager.

About the role

The Supporter CRM Manager is integral to the successful use of supporter data across the organisation. We’re looking for someone to play a lead role in embedding best practice ways of working in data management. This is a one-year contract.

About you

To succeed, you’ll need to be experienced in data quality and implementing operational procedures to maintain high standards of data quality and have worked as a help desk technician or a similar customer support role. You’ll also need to be skilled in engaging a diverse database user community, helping them to use and get the most out of the system and working with them to identify system improvements. You should be analytical, solution orientated and able to communicate technical information to a non-technical client team audience, you have a good understanding of relevant legislation and regulations relating to supporter data too (e.g., GDPR, PECR and the Fundraising Code of Practice). You’re also great at diagnosing basic technical issues likely to affect users of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and have had some exposure to the Microsoft Power Platform suite, in particular Dynamics and Power Automate/Flow.

About the team

This role sits within the Business Enablement team within Shelter’s Technology & Data (T&D) Department, which is made up of 30+ people based across the country with bases in London, Sheffield, and Edinburgh. The T&D Department is accountable for developing and leading Shelter’s technology and data strategic priorities, providing a secure infrastructure, management of data and insight to underpin strategic outcomes, delivery of technology change projects, data governance and the provision of support for a range of software, systems, and platform tools.
