The Pepper Foundation is a local charity funding children’s hospice care at home, specialised play and family days for children living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. 

The Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser will be joining Pepper at an exciting time as we launch our new three-year fundraising strategy. Backed by committed investment and with full Board approval, we are delighted to be growing the charity to deliver sustainable income that directly supports local children and families with hospice care in the comfort of their own homes.

Working closely with the Head of Trusts & Foundations, you will play a pivotal role in increasing income from trusts and foundations by developing and managing a strong pipeline of funders, securing new grants, and building long-term relationships that lead to increased and multi-year support. You will research and prepare compelling applications to both new and existing funders, alongside producing timely, engaging reports that clearly demonstrate impact.

This role requires a highly organised and motivated individual with a passion for writing, strong attention to detail, and the ability to deliver exceptional cultivation, stewardship and relationship management of trusts and foundations aligned with our mission.

Your work will directly support hospice at home care, specialist play services, and meaningful family days out for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions – making a tangible difference to families during the most difficult of times.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week working from home – applicants must live within Hertfordshire or Buckinghamshire (or surrounding counties)

Salary: £19,800 per annum for 22.5 hours per week (£33,000 FTE per annum)

Key requirements:

• Work with the Head of Trusts & Foundations to agreed income targets and growth.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of small and medium trusts and foundations (giving up to £10,000).
• Produce high-quality, tailored applications to prospective funders aligned with agreed criteria.
• Prepare meaningful update reports, demonstrating the impact of a funder’s support, whilst ensuring all reporting requirements and deadlines are met.
• Deliver excellent relationship management and stewardship through regular reporting and tailored communications.
• Conduct prospect research to identify and prioritise new trust funding opportunities aligned with The Pepper Foundation’s work.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications on the Donorfy CRM database whilst keeping abreast of GDPR.
• Stay up to date with current trends in trust fundraising.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice, and internal Safeguarding Policies.
• Represent The Pepper Foundation at events as required.

About Bond and the role 

Bond is the UK network for organisations working in international development. We unite and support a diverse network of over 400 civil society organisations to help eradicate global poverty, inequality and injustice. BAWG is the Bond Afghan Working Group which represents approx. 30 charitable organisations based in the UK and Ireland, with a focus on Afghanistan. BAWG’s members are involved in the delivery of humanitarian & development aid, through colleagues, teams and local providers throughout Afghanistan.

BAWG’s focus is advocacy and comms with key stakeholders in the UK, who are primarily MPs, parliamentarians and select media. Members of BAWG meet online once a fortnight; the group has a Steering Committee, which is accountable to its members and has recently embarked on a new strategic direction. 

We are now looking for a Coordinator who will ensure both the smooth day-to-day running of BAWG and also play a pivotal role in the next steps in delivering our strategy. The role, funded from membership fees and donations, is BAWG’s only salaried post, and will ensure the board meets its commitments to members, and reports effectively into Bond. For the right candidate, it offers a real opportunity to play an active and important role in BAWG’s development. 

Main purpose of the job 

This is a new role at an important time; government funding is under extreme pressure and the geo-political backdrop is increasingly tumultuous, while Afghanistan continues to be one of world’s most fragile and challenging contexts. BAWG’s focus and objectives require careful coordination, so we are in search of a skilful professional who will be equally comfortable to perform admin duties, but also embrace the possibilities of a passionate network of individuals and organisations.

• We need someone who will be able to establish and maintain appropriate administrative routines, contribute to long-term sustainability of the group and take responsibility for overseeing membership, fundraising and coordination of communication with key stakeholders. 

• The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of the context and some demonstrable passion for the key issues facing organisations working in Afghanistan. 

• A key aspect of the role will be to maintain relationships with key government departments and contacts, so experience in similar role is desirable. The key skills and competencies include Stakeholder management, organisational and influencing.

A Day in the Life 

A day in the life of the adviser is likely to be very varied. Built around a fortnightly meeting with the group, the adviser will act as a focus for sharing intelligence and information coming out of the group, and ensuring that all members are well informed. At the same time, the adviser might equally be working with members of Bond’s media team, looking at opportunities to bring focus and attention on issues relating to Afghanistan through opinion pieces commissioned from key thinkers. Or it might be an event in Parliament, building consensus and support with MPs, looking at opportunities to bring key issues to light. And, of course, you will be part of Bond’s wider membership team, and exploring ways of working together, looking at how we attract new members into the group will be part of the role. It’s an ideal role for someone who likes to dive into different areas of activity at the same time, but also to bring their own ideas about networking and engagement to the wider team. 

Main responsibilities 

• Coordinate, chair and report on an agreed set of meetings including

• The fortnightly BAWG group (currently 27 members) Managing the agenda, agreeing minutes and action points where relevant with BAWG Board, always ensuring confidentiality is maintained 

• Managing and coordination of working groups, and meetings with wider group of stakeholders 

• Develop and manage good working relationships with BOND, maintaining BAWG’s presence on and contribution to the BOND platform and liaising with contacts at BOND to ensure a good working relationship. 

• Maintain records of all group members and establish effective approach to the sharing of documents and flow of information 

• Work with the BAWG Board and wider group of members to develop current membership and explore ways of augmenting BAWG’s reserves including fundraising, membership drive and event planning 

• Playing an active role in defining and shaping the scope of BAWG with professional administration 

• Overseeing and supporting the design and implementation of BAWG’s strategic annual plan 

• Supporting the group to maintain relationships with key government departments, including the Humanitarian Team at FCDO. 

• Supporting the group to maintain key relationships with other sector working groups, including those run by Bond, and others outside the Bond network 

• Supporting and coordinating fundraising opportunities that support key group activities. 

• Overseeing relevant funding calls; where feasible, leading on opportunities from donors and/or potential new members to support BAWG’s work.

Person specification 

Essential 

• Experienced at autonomous working, setting own priorities, managing own time and able to establish own accountabilities.

You will have experience supporting women and children affected by violence against women and girls (VAWG), including undertaking risk assessment, safety planning and managing high‑risk cases. You will be confident working with people experiencing severe and multiple disadvantage and skilled in effective multi‑agency partnership working. You will bring a strong understanding of domestic abuse, including the practical, emotional and financial impacts, alongside knowledge of housing, welfare, safeguarding for adults and children, and relevant policy. About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an operations professional who shares EJF’s commitment to environmental justice and is ready to take on real responsibility across a fast-growing global non-profit organisation.

As Operations Officer, you will play a hands-on role in keeping EJF's international operations running smoothly across 16 countries on four continents, with a particular focus on our five European offices.

Your remit will be broad. From ensuring offices function efficiently and IT systems operate safely, to providing HR support to line managers and coordinating across teams in multiple time zones, no two days will look the same. Over time, you will develop a working knowledge of the full operational landscape of an international NGO, building skills and experience across functions that few comparable roles can offer.

You will bring at least three years of experience in an operations, coordination, or administrative role, ideally in an international or multi-site environment. You will also have strong organisational skills, sound judgement, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Operations, Systems & IT Support: This includes user onboarding; troubleshooting technical issues with our hardware or software (calling in external support when needed); managing access and settings; and supporting digital security procedures.

• HR & People: This includes implementing recruitment and induction processes; maintaining staff records and ensuring timely staff reports and appraisals; supporting effective transactional HR services across European offices; and answering ad hoc staff queries.

• Office management: The role will ensure that offices in the UK, Belgium, France, Germany and Spain run efficiently and provide staff with excellent places to work and collaborate.

• General Administration & Organisational Support: This will include managing shared inboxes and calendars; supporting significant procurements and associated financial processes; maintaining institutional registrations and log-ins with relevant entities; implementing systems and processes across the team as required; organising all-staff and management team meetings; and providing ad hoc support for events and other administrative tasks.

Essential skills and experience

• Demonstrable commitment to EJF's vision, mission and values and a determination to change the world for the better.

• At least three years’ experience in an operations, coordination, or administrative role, ideally within an international or multi-site environment.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to juggle competing priorities and deliver consistently to deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the confidence to liaise with colleagues, partners and suppliers across diverse cultures and time zones.

• Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information, including HR and personnel matters.

• A proactive, hands-on, problem-solving mindset, with strong attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of tasks from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

1. Finance and Organisational Integrity:

• Work with the finance team to provide time-bound, clear tracking of financial income and expenditure against agreed budgets; insightful financial projections to inform strategic decisions; and recommendations on ethical banking and investment opportunities and changing needs.

• Ensure operational systems work effectively when they interface with finance, including ensuring value for money when undertaking procurements.

• Work closely with the finance team to ensure strong financial controls and systems are in place across the global offices, robust against fraud and error.

2. Human Resources:

• Supporting and enhancing EJF’s HR systems to ensure they are fit for purpose, fair and appropriate across all jurisdictions.

• Coordinating and supporting Managers with effective recruitment processes globally.

• Ensuring managers have the systems and tools they need to induct, manage, and retain staff, including guidance on management, issue escalation, monitoring performance and reviews.

3. IT and Artificial Intelligence:

• Ensuring that the IT, software systems and internal processes that the EJF team depend on are effective, secure and offer value for money.

• Contributing to EJF’s approach to tech and innovation, particularly the effective, ethical use of AI.

4. Fundraising Support and Donor Reporting:

• Support fundraising, including coordinating complex applications and ensuring proposal budgets and other operational information are accurate and consistent.

• Supporting decision-making relating to future fundraising priorities and new income streams.

• Ensuring operational developments are accurately reflected in donor reporting.

5. Safeguarding, Risk and Security:

• Overseeing the implementation of EJF’s safeguarding, cybersecurity and whistleblowing policies and monitoring, ensuring consistency across countries.

• Working with relevant teams, regularly review safety and security protocols in EJF’s global teams, including digital systems and data security.

6. Leadership and Coordination:

• Leading the roll-out and periodic review of improved operational processes and systems across the organisation, ensuring buy-in across teams.

• Providing clear, detailed updates on operational developments to the COO and, where appropriate, to the Senior Management Team and Directors.

Essential skills and experience

As Community Manager at StandOut you will lead a passionate and dynamic team of community coaches, all working tirelessly to support our participants as they leave the prison gates and begin life in the community. From managing and supporting community coaches as they work with participants, to working with programmes leadership to set the strategy and direction of the community team, the role is varied, stretching and incredibly rewarding. Artswork is looking for a Data Protection & Impact Manager to lead Artswork’s approach to data so we operate safely and legally, and so that data informs every area of our work, shapes our planning, and enables us to demonstrate the impact of our programmes. This role works closely with the Evaluation & Impact Manager, and focuses specifically on data protection, data analysis and data reporting e.g. to funders. 

We are looking for someone to lead on data analysis and data protection within Artswork, embedding a data-led approach to our work. Working closely with the (part-time) Evaluation & Impact Manager, you will not only provide expertise in data generation across the organisation but also insightful analysis of the data to feed into the organisation’s strategic decision-making. You’ll be skilled in using tools that enable us to aggregate, manipulate and visualise data. You’ll be able to generate reports at different levels, from overviews to granular detail, and you’ll be willing and able to do accurate, capable data entry when needed (for example onto funders’ reporting platforms). You’ll liaise with other teams around their data requirements, particularly the Co-CEOs, Fundraising and Sales & Marketing. You’ll also lead on Data Protection for the organisation, training team members, generating ​‘how to’ guides for colleagues and ensuring that our data protection policies and procedures are updated and compliant with current legislation. 

Main Responsibilities:

Strategy 

• Embed a data-led approach across Artswork, ensuring data is used to inform organisational planning, prioritisation and decision-making. 
• Collaborate with the Evaluation & Impact Manager to align data generation, evaluation activity and reporting cycles, ensuring coherence across programmes. 
• Develop, maintain and continuously improve organisational data systems, tools and processes so that they are fit for purpose, efficient and scalable.

• Contribute data and insight to funder reporting, including accurate entry onto funders’ platforms and the production of supporting evidence. 
• Generate reports at different levels (headline dashboards through to detailed breakdowns) to support operational planning and strategic decisions. 
• Work with Fundraising and Sales & Marketing to align impact evidence with funding priorities and communications needs, providing statistics, summaries and insights. 

Data Protection compliance 

• Lead on Data Protection for the organisation, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies and procedures. 
• Maintain, implement and regularly review data protection policies, procedures and guidance, ensuring they are practical and compliant. 
• Train and onboard staff on data protection requirements, creating accessible ‘how to’ guidance and providing ongoing support to colleagues.

We are looking for a leader who will lead, inspire and challenge the Policy and Health Strategy teams to push for significant improvements in services for people with Parkinson’s across the UK. You’ll work closely with people affected by Parkinson’s, health care professionals and others to influence decision makers across Whitehall, Westminster and local health systems. 

As an experienced health, research and public policy leader, you will lead our policy, campaigning and NHS improvement professionals, both within their teams and across the devolved nations teams to build Parkinson’s UK’s reputation as a trusted, expert and determined partner and advocate for people affected by Parkinson’s.

You’ll oversee an annual budget of around £4 million, and a team of 45 people.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and inspire the policy and health strategy teams, developing our staff to their full potential.

• Carve out new areas of influence over decision makers, nationally and locally, to improve services for people with Parkinson’s.

• Create an environment in which the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network flourishes, driving up standards of care for people with Parkinson’s. 

• Position Parkinson’s UK as sector leading with key decision makers in health and research, and embed the charity as a key partner in service improvement. 

• Build Parkinson’s UK’s reputation as a trusted source of insight and analysis around health and social care services, benefits and employment

The communications team leads strategic positioning across complex and rapidly evolving landscapes—proactively elevating the networks achievements while responding decisively to misinformation and coordinated attacks to open society values worldwide.  

Role Purpose

The Communications Officer, Europe serves as a senior strategic leader of external communications engagement for Open Society’s priorities across Europe, with a mandate that extends globally as needed.

Key responsibilities

Through integrated media engagement, digital strategy, social media platforms, publications, executive communications and internal communications, the department partners with  dozens of Open Society Foundations and programs to drive coherence, clarity, and influence across the global network.

Reporting to Associate Director of Communications, Europe and working in close partnership with Program and Advocacy leadership, this role will:  

• Develop and execute high-impact, regionally grounded  communications strategies aligned with institutional priorities.

• Shape compelling organizational narratives and positioning on issues central to Open Society’s mission;

• Lead proactive risk assessment and reputational strategy, anticipating communications and media risks across the region and develops and executes mitigation strategies; serves as the lead during crisis situations, ensuring values-aligned response management.

• Shape and drive strategic communications opportunities aligned with institutional priorities—leveraging both real-time news cycles and long-term advocacy opportunities to advance Open Society values, influence public discourse and shape policy relevant narratives.

• Strategically position key Open Society leadership, experts and thought-leaders across top-tier domestic, regional and international media, cultivating relationships with influential journalist and editorial boards to expand reach, credibility and thought-leadership impact.

• Author and oversee high-impact written communications, including Op-Eds, policy commentaries, thought-leadership pieces, and other press materials—ensuring clarity, narratives coherence and alignment.

• Design and lead strategic media engagements, including press briefings, editorial meetings, high level media convenings and background discussions that deepen understanding of Open Society work and priorities.

• Oversee integrated content strategy and production across digital and print platforms, ensuring strategic coherence, audience targeting and performance impact; manages and coordinates external creative and PR partners to deliver high quality outputs.

• Co-design and delivers communications trainings for program staff, leadership, and partners to strengthen message discipling, media readiness and narrative alignment across the network.

• Contribute to global communications leadership initiatives, partnering with communications colleagues across regions to drive cross-portfolio collaboration, institutional consistency and shared strategic objectives across the highly-matrixed global environment.

This is a fully remote position operating within a highly distributed, global team. The role requires exceptional self-direction, disciplined time management, and the ability to independently prioritize and execute against strategic objectives without day-to-day supervision.

Given the global scope of the Communications function, this role requires significant flexibility in working hours to ensure effective collaboration across multiple time zones. Regular availability during late afternoons and evenings will be necessary to align with colleagues and leadership in Africa, the United States, and the Middle East, including participation in cross-regional meetings scheduled during New York morning hours.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Educated to a degree-level (or equivalent) relevant to Communications

• Evidence of continued professional development in media strategy, crisis communications, geopolitical analysis, or digital strategy.

Experience

Essential:

• Substantial relevant communications experience driving strategic communications in complex political and international environments, including journalism OR experience as a communications professional in the not-for-profit or private sector

• Established and active network of high-level media, editorial, and digital influencers across regional and international levels

• Experience managing crisis communications and high-risk reputational environments.

• Experience leading integrated communications strategies across media, digital, and stakeholder engagement platforms.

• Proven track record advising senior leadership on reputational risk, media engagement, and public positioning

Desirable:

• In-depth media knowledge of open society issues

• Established relationships with journalists, editors, producers and creative partners

• Proven skills in the development of communications strategies in regional and/or international contexts
