We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to take responsibility for the day-to-day work of our innovative Hearing Voices Projects. To be successful in this role, you need to have an in-depth understanding of the Hearing Voices Movement and the role of peer support groups within this. You will ideally have experience of supervising or mentoring volunteers and some project management experience.

With the confidence and organisational skills necessary to take the lead on busy and diverse projects, you will be required to engage with a wide range of stakeholders (from the adult mental health, prison, forensic and youth sectors). As such, this role is best suited to someone who is flexible enough to modify their approach to suit the situation.

We are looking for someone with strong facilitation skills who is able to deliver and design training that communicates the values of the Hearing Voices Network clearly and accessibly.

Among other tasks, you will be required to:

• Oversee the current Hearing Voices Projects to ensure they are consistent and embody the Mind in Camden and Hearing Voices Movement ethos.
• Be part of some of the frontline work, including facilitating groups.

As Strategic Lead for Young People, you will lead our work to better support young people's mental health, with a focus on trauma. You will manage the Young People's mental health team to drive development and delivery of our initiatives and programmes focused on young people, including our Youth Voice Network. You will work across the organisation and with local Minds and external partners to understand challenges and barriers to young people's mental health and identify opportunities for Mind to address these, e.g. through partnerships and innovation, collaborating with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to develop and mobilise solutions.

You will do this through lived experience leadership, coproduction and engagement with relevant audiences. You will provide oversight and challenge to delivery teams across the Federation to ensure that we maximise our impact for young people.

Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

-Continuous development of Mind's strategic plans for supporting Young People with a focus on trauma. Ensure the plans maximise Mind's impact and innovation across the Mind federation and enable us to reach our strategic ambitions.

-Work with colleagues across the Mental Health Equity team to deliver the support offer to the network and assess for good practice, focussed around using the Advancing Mental Health Equalities strategy as a starting point

-Management of the young people's mental health team

-Lead on the co-ordination & co-design of flagship CYP delivery at both a local and national level, working in partnership with Federation Innovation colleagues, fundraising teams and others across the Federation to develop new programmes and services and leverage funding

-Ensure that young people's lived experience informs & guides Mind's work at both a local and national level so that young people with lived experience are actively involved in the planning, development and delivery of Mind's strategic plans

-Work with colleagues across the organisation to build capacity around effective partnerships in relation to CYP, with a focus on complex partnerships.

-Ensure the widespread sharing and scaling of learning and effective models of support across the Mind Federation, contributing to continuous improvement.

- You will support the fundraising and programmes team with running events and resident panels.

- You will be responsible for ensuring that the building is safe, well maintained and accessible to all staff, tenants and visitors, including sourcing and managing contractors.

- You will support the finance and fundraising teams with data entry and reporting, purchasing and reconciliations.

- You will also have the opportunity to delve into special initiatives, such as supporting our  strategic objectives around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), the use of AI and environmental action.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about the voluntary sector, particularly learning about trusts and foundations and grant making, as well as developing skills in a variety of admin functions, such as databases, finance, premises and health and safety.

You will also have the opportunity to meet the organisations we fund and work with as well as actively contribute towards our pledge of meeting the ACF’s Funder Commitment on Climate Change and our DEI Strategic workplan (available on request). This will allow you to develop your skills at the Foundation, ranging from project planning, communication, finance, and customer service. You will also have an opportunity to work with our Fundraising and Communications team to help engage a range of supporters. Training will be provided for all your duties.

The Nuffield Foundation is recruiting an Executive Coordinator to work closely with and support our Chief Executive, Leadership Team, Trustees and other members of our governance committees.  

The Nuffield Foundation’s purpose is to advance social well-being and across all our activities we aim to open up opportunities and to improve lives for individuals, families and communities within a just and inclusive society. Our work addresses the inequalities, disadvantage, discrimination and vulnerabilities people face in education, justice and welfare, and considers the social and ethical implications of science and digital technologies.

The Executive Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Foundation’s CEO and its Leadership Team. It also liaises with the Foundation’s Trustees and other Board and Committee members to ensure the effective operations of the organisation. 

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with a broad range of colleagues and use tact and diplomacy when required. They will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills (including the ability to correspond on behalf of the CEO, draft short papers and take minutes of meetings).

It is also essential for someone to have highly developed organisation and administrative skills, with the ability to use systems and processes to effectively prioritise, project manage and ensure the effective operations of the Foundation's leadership and governance teams.
