Winston's Wish is seeking a Part-time Bereavement Counsellor to cover maternity leave for a period of approximately 9 months from February 2025. The role is remote, with occasional travel to team meetings at locations around the UK (no more than 4 per year).

Role Purpose

• To provide psychosocial assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people and/or their significant adults (as appropriate) who are experiencing acute and/or complex levels of psychological distress as a result of a bereavement.
• To work with children and young people and/or their significant adults (as appropriate) using a range of counselling methods, approaches and techniques, functioning at level 3 of the NICE psychological framework.
• To provide crisis interventions when appropriate.
• To be responsible for implementing a range of therapeutic interventions for individuals, families and groups, drawing upon different models, including one-to-one work, family work, group work and activities.
• To provide psychosocial education to children and young people and/or their significant adults (as appropriate) about grief, bereavement, coping skills and trauma as needed.
• Service provided digitally with opportunities for in-person work as deemed necessary by the service.

Overview of the Projects Manager – South Asia role and the team

Overview of the Facilities Management role and the team

We are searching for a qualified Facilities Manager to work alongside maintenance, domestic services, and grounds staff to ensure our buildings and grounds are well maintained, compliant, clean, and safe. The Facilities Manager oversees all aspects of building functions and in responsible for the safety and functionality of all facilities. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with service contractors, planning maintenance and regulatory compliance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff. The Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) works with affected communities to pursue innovative legal actions across borders to challenge states and other powerful actors involved in human rights violations and systemic injustice. About the Role 

GLAN has a small yet powerful fundraising team.  Our Development Lead excels in relationship fundraising, having forged multi-year funding partnerships with aligned Trusts & Foundations and major donors. Who is The Charlie Waller Trust?
The Charlie Waller Trust was created by the Waller family in 1997 in response to the loss of their son and brother Charlie who died by suicide. We have since become one of the UK’s most respected mental health charities for children and young people. Our overarching mission is to educate those with responsibility for children and young people - parents and carers, teachers, college and university staff, and employers - about children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

The Youth Ambassador Role: We are seeking UK-based Youth Ambassadors (16-25 year olds) to join our Youth Involvement Team. We wish to appoint people that can bring diverse experiences in education, work or community in order to help create and shape the work that we do. The Youth Ambassadors role is about prioritising youth representation, identity and community across our charitable activity and beyond. How much time am I expected to commit?
We expect those joining the Youth Ambassador group to join on a freelance basis for one year from February 2025 to January 2026. 
Hours are subject to change each month but on average we would plan for you to work for CWT for up to 14 hours (2 days) per month. The majority of the working hours offered can be arranged as flexibly as possible around your other commitments

Will I be paid?Ambassadors will be remunerated for their time at a delivery and desk rate of £15 per hour for work both online and in person. 

Desk work includes training preparation, resource coproduction or review, attending meetings and involvement in focus groups. Delivery work includes training delivery, public speaking at an event about the work of the Trust or hosting or being interviewed on the ambassador podcast. 

Any expenses incurred in the role will be covered in line with the Charlie Waller Trust’s expenses policy (public transport or mileage at 45p mile). Payment will be made via bank transfer following the completion of an invoice or hours claim form. The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Energy Adviser, to work on either a full or part time basis. Job share applications are also welcome. This role provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help the charity build its profile amongst regional stakeholders whilst delivering projects that seek to bring an end to fuel poverty and to the misery of cold homes that is experienced by over 6.5 million households in the UK.

NEA’s Energy Advisers are empathetic, polite and have good listening skills but are also knowledgeable, assertive, and confident. Their main role is to provide one to one advice to clients referred through the charity’s Warm and Safe Homes helpline and to deliver energy advice presentations to groups.  They also get involved in a range of tasks to support these activities.  Energy Advisers sit within the Communities Directorate and are part of a dynamic and caring team of professionals who go the extra mile to support their clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances.

What you will need to succeed

Working within our Communities Directorate you will have demonstrable experience of delivering Energy Advice and helping others.  Therefore, it is vital that you have empathy, confidence and knowledge of the issues facing vulnerable low-income households.

You will have knowledge and understanding of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.

You will also have knowledge of assistance available for energy efficiency improvements to low-income households.

You will be an excellent communicator, with proven experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders – with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

The successful candidate will operate within Yorkshire and the Humber, East Midlands or Eastern region of England. Home working and office-based locations are available depending on your proximity to a NEA office. Preferences will be discussed with candidates at interview. Hybrid working is subject to necessary H&S and GDPR checks. Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK. 

 We are offering:

• £28,163 – £33,205 (FTE) – Scale 5-6, Points 12-22 (plus £3,300 London Weighting if applicable). New appointments are usually made at the starting point of the scale.
• 11½% non-contributory pension.
• 25 days annual leave plus 3 additional days in between Christmas New Year Period when our offices close; plus, all public holidays per annum for full time staff, pro-rata for part time staff.

Stargardt's Connected is a unique award-winning charity supporting those with the rare sight loss condition Stargardt's Disease. Our mission is raising awareness, giving support and seeking a cure.  Founded in 2017, to address the lack of support and awareness around the condition, today the charity reaches well over a 1000 people and is rapidly growing.  

The following are the range of duties you will be asked to contribute to and would be undertaken dependent on priorities and capacity.

● Manage the Charity’s email inboxes, responding to communications from the Stargardt’s Community, volunteers, external partners, and third parties. Triage messages, escalate to the CEO when necessary, and develop responses with appropriate signposting to information and support.

● Represent the Charity at various in-person events alongside the CEO, including Stargardt’s Connected events (e.g. annual conference, summer picnic) and external events (e.g., Sight Village, fundraising events, other sight loss charity events).

● Assist the CEO in developing content for presentations, articles, and resources for the Charity.

● Co-ordinate the development and dissemination of the Stargardt’s Connected e-newsletter via Mailchimp, collaborating with the CEO to gather and create content.

● Co-ordinate the Charity’s social media channels (X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn), ensuring timely posting of news and updates, building a following, and responding to comments and direct messages, escalating to the CEO as needed.

● Oversee the Charity’s Zoom account, including setting up and helping to run online meetings for Community events, Trustee meetings, and ad-hoc meetings with external partners.

● Support the organisation and coordination of logistics for Charity activities, including liaising with vendors, organising travel and accommodation for conferences, managing event registrations, handling donations, and coordinating the sign-off and submission of policies and reports.

● Take ownership of the Charity’s Google Drive, establishing systems and processes to manage files in compliance with data protection, audit policies, and best practices.

● Attend and minute meetings with external partners and the Board of Trustees as requested.

● Any other similar reasonable duties as required

Regional Fundraiser (part time) – Northern Scotland 
Ideal locations include near Inverness, Aberdeen or Dundee to allow travel across the North of Scotland. 

22.5 hours per week
Actual Salary: £23,170.80 (38,618 FTE)

The Role
Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community. You’ll join a nation-wide team of inspiring and innovative fundraisers, working collaboratively to secure the much-needed income for the Charity. 

Helping to coordinate events, support fundraising initiatives and implement new ideas, you’ll support your people, stations, and offices to raise awareness of the Charity and achieve and exceed income targets, as well as working with local businesses and people to maximise our fundraising potential.

By generating the income we need to realise our ambitions, you will help us to be there for even more members of the fire and rescue community.

About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative fundraiser to join our team, full of ideas and a positive attitude. You’ll need excellent business and project planning skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and adapt your communication style to your audience.

You’ll be responsible for maximising the potential fundraising income from every initiative you support, so you must be able to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders and build strong networks.

You’ll also be able to support and inspire our volunteers, ensuring that these vital links between our Charity and the fire and rescue services are happy and fulfilled in their roles.

Reporting to the Regional Fundraising Manager, you’ll be an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.

Overview of the Projects Administrator  - East, Central and Southern Africa role and the team

The team receives and processes project applications, monitors and evaluates ongoing and completed projects, maintains a database of project partners and applications, among other functions. The Projects Administrator will support the Projects Manager in identifying, evaluating and overseeing projects in East, Central and Southern Africa that align with Barnabas Aid’s missions and objectives. The ideal candidate will have some background in project management, strong organisational skills, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of suffering Christians through effective grant management

We are looking for a permanent full-time Outreach Officer to contribute their personality, energy, drive, skills and experience to add value to our Blesma Outreach team within the Independence and Wellbeing department at Blesma, The Limbless Veterans.

The role is home-based being a varied one, focusing primarily on delivering an engaging blended programme of activities that enhances social inclusion, improves the wellbeing of our members and overcomes the negative impact of disability.   The role requires a person who is a self starter, friendly, compassionate, confident who enjoys taking the initiative being creative and has a strong commitment to the veterans’ community.  

The role also involves representing Blesma and raising the charity’s profile within the local community across the Midlands. 

The Independence and Wellbeing team works collaboratively across the Association to ensure Blesma’s programmes and services can help our serving Service personnel, veterans and their families thrive and lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Blesma is unique as a membership Association as well as a charity.  Our members are at the heart of all our work, therefore, the impact of the Outreach Officer is highly visible and appreciated in the experiences of our inspirational limbless veterans.
