We have over 2,000 volunteers that engage with us and refer to these individuals as ‘Contributors’. The Contributor Officer will be our Volunteer Lead and will work alongside the Head of HR on the engagement, management and retention of volunteers across the organisation. As this is a new role, there is huge scope to think innovatively and apply your expertise to ensure our processes and ways of working deliver real value to the members giving up their time to work with us.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with our contributors, ensuring they feel valued and empowered to contribute their expertise. What you’ll do:
- Develop and update an appropriate and consistent recruitment and selection process for Contributor positions, ensuring it provides flexibility to cater to the differing level of roles across the organisation.
- Work with the Marketing and Digital team to build and maintain a dedicated Contributor section of the website, designed to engage our key audiences and provide easy access to engaging information and content.
- Monitor application rates for key Contributor positions, developing our approach to ensure that the opportunities reach a wide range of members.
- Actively lead the RCR’s approach to engaging with Contributors.
- Conduct regular business partnering meetings with RCR staff who have management responsibility for key Contributors, advising on how to manage, support and engage the group.
- Actively input into the development of the RCR’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and other relevant systems to ensure there is a single point of truth for all Contributor related data and that important information is recorded in an easy to access way.

The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) is looking for an Examiner Engagement and Support Coordinator to ensure our examiners feel empowered, valued, and supported in their critical contributions to our exams.
The RCR is a professional membership body for Doctors who work in cancer care and medical imaging. Our examiners are clinical oncologists, clinical radiologists and other specialists, who work voluntarily as contributors developing exam questions, delivering assessments to candidates and shaping the future of FRCR exams. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that the clinical expertise needed to run the RCR’s exams is available via both UK and global examiners.
The postholder will have strong people skills with the ability to build good relationships, excellent communication and organisational skills will be key to your success. The post holder will be the first point of contact for potential new, and existing, examiners and will work closely with exam chairs and across all exam boards and committees, ensuring that examiners have the tools they need to deliver as an examiner alongside their clinical commitments, including alleviating any pain points. Examiner recruitment and coordinating induction and training - plus the set-up of meetings, events and panels - will form part of the workload.
As our Examiner Engagement and Support Coordinator you will deliver real value to those doctors who give up their valuable time to work with us.
What you’ll do:
- Write and update engaging examiner recruitment materials such as terms of reference, job descriptions, scoring criteria and advertising communication.
- Actively promote examiner recruitment to UK and global audiences, including drafting text and ensuring that promotional recruitment materials are relevant and engaging.
- Build and develop mechanisms to communicate with examiners, ensuring they feel included in the work of both the exams team and the wider college.
- Support examiners with travel and accommodation bookings where necessary, in collaboration with the RCR’s appointed travel agent and the RCR’s Facilities function.
- Support committees by managing the logistical support for meetings and preparing quality agendas.
What you’ll need:
- Experience in providing administrative support and managing administrative processes, systems and procedures.
- Experience in financial administration, including the compiling of financial spreadsheets and monitoring budgets.
- Experience of committee procedures and processes, including preparing agendas and recording accurate actions.
- Experience using and maintaining a database or equivalent to store and retrieve information so that information is kept up to date and available
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have a successful track record of meeting income targets. You will have good knowledge of budgeting and financial control and an interest in researching and preparing imaginative funding packages. You will have previous experience in researching potential Trust and Foundations to approach as well directly applying for funds and writing proposals. Experience of planning, analysis and understanding monitoring and evaluation is also essential for this role. You will be well organised, self-motivated and comfortable using Microsoft packages and be familiar with the use of databases and spreadsheets. Experience with databases such as Donorfy would be a bonus however it is not essential for the role. Your approach to work will be collegiate and you will work well within a team environment as well as taking your own initiative. Our Programme Officer role is vital to the smooth running of our Systems Improvement team’s projects. You will be a key part of our delivery which focuses on supporting multi-agency local area partnerships to improve their SEND systems & processes. In particular, we see a key element of this role as supporting our work which supports local areas to improve inclusion in all of their educational settings.
Programme Officers are given discrete elements of projects to lead and deliver with engagement from other team members and an identified project lead. One day you might be co-facilitating a focus group with parent carers to understand the current strengths and challenges of co-production in a specific local area; and the next, analysing a local area’s data to shape the next steps of a project improving outcomes for children with special educational needs and disability.
This role will support the delivery of and take responsibility for identified elements of NCB and Council For Disabled Children’s (CDC) multi-agency SEND Systems Improvement contracts, which aim to improve practice and in turn influence policy. You will work with a variety of stakeholders including the Department for Education, Parent Carer Representative bodies and Integrated Care Systems from across England alongside local authorities working collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

You will be a Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead who is passionate about supporting MAC-UK’s objective of working collaboratively with young people, innovating services and systems and their approach to mental health, to address health and social inequalities. We are very excited to be part of a pilot service, new in England working as part of a consortium of four organisations, alongside Lambeth Council. This will be a residential support service for young people aged 16-24 years at risk of serious youth violence, who are already caught up in the criminal justice system and at high risk of remaining part of the system. You will be working across three London properties alongside a large multi-agency staff team made up of experts by experience/profession in psychology and therapy; youth work; offending; education, training, and employment (ETE) and housing. The service will work creatively and holistically to enable young people to exit environments involving youth violence, identify and reach their goals and aspirations, move on successfully to appropriate independent living, and importantly to sustain this life. Wherever possible staff and young people will co-produce what this service looks like and what activities the young people engage in.
