Job Purpose

Provide a fully person-centred Support Worker/Case Management service, including assessment, recovery planning, co-ordination, and review, for veterans and their families. The Support Worker/Case Manager will also specifically provide welfare support, guidance, and advice where this is required as part of a recovery plan.

Working collaboratively as part of our wider Recovery Services Directorate, you will identify need, create support pathways (internal and external), and co-ordinate structured support plans where beneficiaries have multi-dimensional or more intensive needs.

The requirement for collaborative practice extends to supporting, as required, hybrid and blended models of service provision including the design and delivery of group programmes, promoting engagement opportunities and community activation. The provision of accessible services is achieved through utilising opportunities for physical, remote, and digital delivery methods.

Solihull Integrated Addiction Service (SIAS) is a partnership between four organisations jointly responsible for the delivery of the drug, alcohol and gambling services, in the Borough of Solihull. We offer services for adults who use or are affected by substance use and gambling.

Your challenge? As a Complex Needs Practitioner, you will be working with clients within various locations to support clients in addressing their substance needs using a person-centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

We are looking for an energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Grandmentors

Grandmentors is a national volunteering programme where older volunteers (aged 50+) use their lifetime of skills and experience to support and mentor vulnerable young adults leaving the care system. These young adults often need a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – ultimately giving them the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives.

Volunteers meet with a young adult regularly to boost their confidence and work towards goals, which are unique to each person.

Role Purpose

We are recruiting two part-time Project Coordinators to effectively deliver all aspects of our Grandmentors project in Wiltshire, ensuring it achieves its aims, objectives, outcomes, and targets. The postholders will work alongside teams within Wiltshire Council and with local volunteers to ensure that we improve the lives of care experienced young people (aged 16-25) through the unique power of inter-generational mentoring.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Effectively manage the service to ensure it meets agreed targets and millstones.
• Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and local authority staff.
• Ensure volunteers are recruited, appropriately trained, and supported in their role; this will involve processing volunteer expenses, DBS checks and maintaining databases.
• Ensure regular communication between project staff and volunteers is maintained and that regular supervision for volunteers is provided.
• Work with your line manager to ensure project expenditure is in line with the budget.
• Maintain accurate records on all aspects of the project and submit data onto a secure system.

Supporter Relationship Management

• To make outbound telephone calls and emails as required to new supporters, follow up queries, verify details or thank donors, acting as an ambassador for Supporter Services and Practical Action at all times.

Income Processing / Database Management

• To deal with incoming and outgoing post, all donations made online via the Practical Action website and other charitable giving platforms, ensuring all donations are handled accurately and in line with agreed procedures.
• To process cash donations effectively and accurately onto our database. 
• To produce and send out letters of acknowledgement to supporters, personalising these communications appropriately.
• To set up Direct Debits/Standing Orders, handle upgrades and other changes to committed gifts, issuing appropriate communications to supporters.
• To accurately process and commit Direct Debit claims.
• To manage Gift Aid on supporter records. This will include setting up new declarations, ending and cancelling declarations and sending out notifications to supporters.
• To deal with new supporters’ welcome communications.
• To liaise with supporters regarding cancellation of donations.
• To update supporter information on the database such as personal details, communication preferences, and other indications of interest or activities to ensure that all our donor information is up to date.
• To undertake manual data entry where required, and to work to avoid the need for duplication of data entry, and ensure automation where possible.
• To pull information required, download and process third party donations ensuring that they are compliant with GDPR.

Compliance

• To keep abreast of all legislation relating to charitable giving such as PCI DSS, Institute of Fundraising guidelines and best practice, Data Protection and Gift Aid Regulations.
• To ensure data is managed to appropriate standards of data protection and security.
• To be aware of and consistently using organisational policies and procedures

Team Working

• To undertake and participate on projects as directed by the Supporter Experience Manager.

We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Foundations Officer preferably from the North of England to join the fundraising team at the Batten Disease Family Association (BDFA). Home based with occasional travel to Yorkshire 

The BDFA is the only patient organisation in the UK for families affected by Batten disease, a rare and terminal neurodegenerative condition that affects children and young adults. The BDFA offers informed guidance and support to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively raising awareness, and promoting research into the management of Batten disease to improve patient care pathways and ultimately find a cure.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation, which has grown to offer additional support services for families affected by Batten disease and to implementing a long-term strategy to develop its advocacy, education and research capabilities. We’re looking for an individual who has the experience and skills to manage and nurture relationships with our existing funders from charitable trusts, foundations and other grant-making bodies, ensuring they feel inspired by our work and the patients and families we support.

The role will incorporate managing a sizeable portfolio of Trusts and Foundations through excellent stewardship, and to build on this strong foundation, developing and submitting winning funding proposals to create a high-quality pipeline of new funding opportunities. The successful candidate will work as part of the Fundraising team, under the guidance of our Chief Executive Officer to continue our strategy to diversify income through this key funding stream.

The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

- Experience and a proven track record of successful Trusts and Foundations income generation.

- Demonstratable experience in researching potential Trust funders, submitting compelling proposals, securing funding and project managing successful bids through to completion of the grant award.

- A background in report writing and demonstrating grant impact whilst being able to build relationships with funders and individual/major donors.

- Experience of providing excellent supporter care and building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with funders.

- Experience of targeting large grant-making bodies and securing 5-6 figure grants

- Expert knowledge of fundraising landscape, particularly Trusts & Foundations.

This job requires a motivated individual who has a passion for all those within our Batten community and a strong desire to support the development and financial growth of the BDFA. The role is full time (35 hours per week) and is home based with occasional travel to Yorkshire (where the CEO is based) and around the UK to meet donors and support fundraising events.

Role Summary

The workforce officer is essential to develop the skills within organisations to both provide accessible physical activity options to the community and create safe, welcoming, and sustainable environments.

This role will increase capacity, enhance capabilities and equip clubs and community organisations to enable them to be equitable and resilient. It is not about delivering training! It will develop pathways that change the face of our local workforce; all sections of the community should feel they are visible across the physical activity and sport sector from volunteers to session leaders to trustees and directors.

This is not a desk-based role, you will be out and about visiting clubs, organisations, and people to hear their stories and help them create change locally.

Responsibilities

Strategic development and implementation

• Develop and oversee an effective PR communications strategy, including business/trade press and public affairs (EU and UN advocacy), based on ProVeg’s strategic principles, impact areas and global interventions.

• Be accountable for the development, delivery, and evaluation of the organisation’s PR activities.

• Create relations with key media outlets to increase visibility and dissemination opportunities

• Develop media relations and build relationships with PR contacts to continuously grow our impact.

• Secure media opportunities for the Senior Leadership and Executive Team and the Global CEO.

• Oversee and ensure the management of positive relationships with the media and relevant change agents, and external colleagues.

• Develop and update, as needed, clear guidance (e.g., core messaging and brand narrative) for the communications team to ensure public communications are aligned with ProVeg’s organisational strategy and communications approach.

• Liaise with the Global CEO and the Senior Leadership Team on strategic communication alignment and/or adjustments, and coordinate and ensure synergies in terms of quality control, key messages, templates, strategies, etc.

• Model excellence in (remote) team management by motivating, coaching, giving, and receiving feedback, supporting and developing teams and skills, and driving innovation and creativity.

• Advise and work with colleagues across the organisation, to ensure we maximise opportunities to raise awareness, influence, and deepen engagement with our audiences in order to support a variety of objectives.

Budget and resource management and evaluation

• Manage a dedicated budget for effective reporting and forecasting.

• Produce timely and regular management information for leadership that effectively explains performance set against OKRs, KPIs and the broader strategic plan. 

Qualifications

Required:

• An excellent understanding of the plant-based and alternative protein sector and knowledge of food systems change.

• A successful track record (5+ years) in journalism (print or broadcast), marketing, or public affairs, developing and delivering strategic objectives across a range of communications channels.

• Strong track record in PR (including broadcast), marketing and/or organisational branding.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, English to native level (or C1).

• Excellent networking skills and experience in building productive relationships with key media stakeholders and influencers.

• Strong project management skills.

• Ability to juggle a varied workload, delegate effectively and contribute as a team player.

• Strong team management skills and a commitment to motivating and empowering a team remotely in order to achieve their goals.
