Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Commercial Manager to oversee the sales and profit performance of a collection of retail shops. Role Responsibilities 

Sales and Profit

• Support Shop Managers to maximise each shop’s sales and profit potential.

• Oversee the delivery of Gift Aid targets throughout the area, driving Gift Aid signups and conversion rates, and ensuring shops are actively promoting the scheme.

• Conduct data analysis to review the commercial layout of each shop including department and category mix. 

• Understand and implement commercial actions to deliver against strategic KPIs.

Stock Management

• Ensure compliance with efficient and commercially successful stock processing systems (such as pricing, quality standards, consumer safety, stock density, sizing, and culling stock).

• Ensure that all legal and internal regulations regarding donated stock are adhered to.

• Collaborate with warehouse team to ensure effective stock movement.

• Work closely with the warehouse and stock partnerships teams to ensure sufficient levels of warehouse, rotation and corporate donated stock.

• Work closely with the ecommerce team to ensure key products generate maximum income via the best channel, delivering P&L sales targets.

• To monitor stock management and fast-tracking on to shop floor.

Customer Service

• Lead and inspire the team to place a positive customer experience at the heart of our approach to attract new and loyal supporters and repeat donors.

• Ensure all processes detailed within the customer experience manual are delivered.

• Ensure that feedback, including complaints are escalated to the Head of Retail Income, within the agreed timeframes.

• Be accountable for the integration of each shop into the local community in collaboration with the shop teams.

Team Management

• Ensure that shops have correct level of cover throughout the year, ensuring cover when and where necessary for annual leave, sickness or vacancies.

• Coordinate and facilitate meetings with shop managers for the purpose of training, communication and planning. 

• Role model and promote effective team communication, celebrating success and sharing best practice. 

• Foster a creative environment where team members seek to maximise income in new and innovative ways through multiple channels including their shops and community events.

• Provide line management, leadership, development opportunities and performance management to the Shop Management team.

• Support with the annual appraisal and probation processes for all reports.

Volunteer Team

The Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD) is a partnership of the world's biggest public research funding agencies. The Associate Members have come together to promote research collaboration and to fund research programmes to address the prevention or treatment of chronic non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and mental health issues. GACD specifically focuses on research which will provide essential evidence on the most effective ways to prevent or manage disease in poorly resourced settings in low- and middle-income countries and to improve health equity in underserved indigenous populations.

About the Consultancy:

Muslim Aid UK (MA) is seeking a procure a consultant to plan and facilitate an organisational Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) self-assessment process. This consultant will review its performance/deliverables against the CHS and then develop an improvement plan for MA to work on over the coming 12 months. The overall aim is to help MA to deliver improved accountability and increased effectiveness for the people affected by humanitarian crisis.

About the Role:

The consultant will:

1. Support the MA team to complete a comprehensive validated CHS self-assessment.
2. Provide an outline of the areas of compliance/ non-compliance with the standards.
3. Develop an organizational improvement plan.
4. Provide insight into organisational readiness to move towards an independent verification/certification process.

Deliverables

• Draft and share a short assignment inception report.
• Conduct a desk review of Muslim Aid documents for the documentation survey.
• Formulate a summary report and improvement plan with a set of key recommendations including timeline, to allow compliance with CHS, with the objective of achieving CHS verification.
• Present the main self-assessment findings during an internal validation webinar involving all MAUK HQ, Country Offices and implementing partners.
• Submit final report incorporating the outcomes of the self-assessment, including an improvement plan, should be delivered at the end of the consultancy assignment. This should be written in alignment with the MAUK standards including a two/three-page executive summary.

About You:

The successful consultant will need to have:

1. A relevant degree in economics, international development, disaster management or humanitarian aid or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
2. Significant experience with humanitarian work, including experience with project implementation and management, as well as knowledge of current humanitarian issues, trends, standards, specifically the Core Humanitarian Standards; Sphere Standards.
3. Previous significant experience of organizational development, preferably within humanitarian organisations.
4. Experience with CHS assessment/verification process.
5. Good written, interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Capacity to work independently and implement assignments remotely.
7. Fluent in written and spoken English; knowledge of other working languages Arabic, Urdu and Bengali would be an asset.

Job Information

As Data Programme Manager, you’ll use your project and programme management skills to successfully deliver projects which improve Hospice UK’s data capabilities. You don’t need to have technical data skills, but you’ll need to be able to guide technical colleagues and third-party IT and data providers.

Your main project will produce a new Member Data Portal, enabling over 200 member hospices to submit data and view insights and analysis that informs their service offer, whilst also providing a national view of hospice care that Hospice UK will use to support member hospices with national campaigning and fundraising.

Alongside this, you will lead data projects that improve our internal performance management. This will involve working with colleagues to gather requirements and develop reporting that supports effective decision making, developing new policies and procedures, and providing training.

Excellent stakeholder management skills will be key to your success. Working with representatives from our member hospices will be vital to the success of the Member Data Portal project. Internally, you’ll collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including the ICT and Data team who will provide technical expertise, and senior managers who will be customers for many of the projects. You’ll also work with external suppliers of technical products and services, including carrying out procurements where needed.

You’ll have great project management skills, which means you’ll be organised, structured and a pragmatic problem solver. Ideally, you’ll have experience of delivering technology, digital or data projects.

About the role

The Senior Communications Strategist will contribute to the delivery of projects on issues like access to justice, achieving health equity, and securing decent and affordable homes for everyone working with partners such as Impact on Urban Health, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Shelter, and the Law Society. 

The successful applicant will be committed to our mission to create better public conversations to achieve social progress - and inspired by using framing research to achieve real world social change. 

They will have at least five years’ experience in communications and have excellent written and presentation skills. They will be well organised, proactive and keen to take on a broad range of tasks. 

This is a new role joining a small, dynamic organisation.The role is permanent and full time (open to requests to work 3+ days a week). The postholder will be expected to work in-person with the team 2 days a week at our central London office, with the option to work remotely on other days. The full time salary for this role is £52,000 per annum plus benefits.

The Senior Communications Strategist’s key responsibilities are to apply framing research to communications practice, support project delivery, and support our external communications.

We are looking for a Community Fundraiser who is an excellent communicator and an energetic self-starter. You are comfortable with working independently, but ready to utilise the support of colleagues across the Fund. Above all, you naturally build rapport to quickly establish relationships and develop innovative partnerships. No one day will be the same and as part of the regional team, you will be the local face and voice of the Fund on the ground. You will quickly build your understanding of the key influencers in your community, and you will ensure they understand what we do so they will want to be associated with the charity. You will be responsible for raising income through existing networks of supporters, volunteers and building new relationships within the RAF, community groups and local business.

The role is primarily community based in East Anglia and requires travel around the region (Cambridgeshire, London Kent, Essex & Suffolk)  and occasional overnight stays. Some evening and weekend work is also required during the busier months at planned events when required. The candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the regions. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need a full UK driver’s license; to be Basic DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Carbon and Natural Capital Surveyor to focus on identifying, progressing and managing natural capital opportunities across the UK, and deliver carbon projects that meet the Trust’s contractual commitments. 

The Role: 
•    Lead and manage natural capital opportunities, with a primary focus on carbon markets, supporting the Trust’s environmental ambitions.
•    Work closely with land managers to identify and progress carbon opportunities, collaborating with the woodland outreach team.
•    Conduct due diligence on property transactions, ensuring integrity and compliance.
•    Help to develop and maintain strategic partnerships to enhance natural capital opportunities and   secure external support.
•    Support the delivery of the planTREES 2024-27 work programme and other key initiatives related to carbon and woodland enhancement.
•    Oversee budgets, approvals, and internal reporting to ensure projects align with strategic goals.
•    Build strong relationships with landowners, agencies, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to drive land-based carbon solutions.

The Candidate: 
•    You are a qualified Chartered Surveyor (preferably rural practice) with expertise in UK land use policies and natural capital opportunities.
•    You have strong project leadership skills, managing complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives on time and within budget.
•    You are passionate about environmental impact, with proven experience in team leadership and development.
•    You are an excellent communicator and influencer, capable of engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
•    Commercially aware, you are able to balance costs and benefits while delivering strategic goals.
•    Results-driven, proactive in identifying opportunities to advance the Trust’s tree planting and carbon objectives.
•    You will have a UK Driving Licence and the ability to travel frequently across the UK with overnight stays

About the Role

The Membership and Fundraising Assistant helps support the successful operation of the Horniman’s individual giving schemes, primarily focussed on the popular Membership scheme. This includes administration, communications and supporting campaigns and exclusive events.

Key Responsibilities   

The role will support generating vital income to the Horniman Museum and Gardens through efficient database management, financial processing, the delivery of appealing events and benefits, and promotional communications.

About You

You will have good administrative experience and understanding of relational databases and will be a confident IT user (including Outlook and Excel skills). You’ll be able to organise your tasks efficiently and work to an exceptional level of accuracy.
