In order to achieve our vision we need a highly capable Director of Finance to build and improve on our high-performing finance function and to drive forward operational excellence.

Reporting directly into the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our financial strategy, long-term financial planning, and developing commercial strategies to maximise income and operating contribution. You will also have responsibility of cash management, risk management and governance. You will be the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) for the organisation and will lead on Property and Procurement.

This is a varied and exciting role which will provide you with the opportunity of leading a well-established team of professionals, reporting on the financial performance of the organisation together with providing analysis, advice and support to facilitate decision making to deliver sound financial management.

You will be a qualified accountant, and will need to demonstrate:

· Proven experience in a leadership role;

· Understanding and experience of strategic risk management, finance audit and internal controls

About the role

Sightsavers’ work in the field of education is driven by the principle of inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. We are looking for a Global Technical Lead – Inclusive Education to provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education to guide the development and delivery of specific initiatives and programmes.

As the Global Technical Lead for Inclusive Education, you will support Sightsavers to promote inclusive education for children, youth, and adults with disabilities in education systems in West Africa, East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA), and South Asia. Working across multiple countries, you will ensure that disability inclusion is at the centre of conceptualisation, design and implementation of Sightsavers’ projects.

Strong communication skills in English and French are essential for this role, as is the availability to travel 12-16 weeks a year, nationally and internationally.

Principal accountabilities will include:

• To provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education at the programmatic level
• To strengthen the global programme portfolio in inclusive education through leading strategic and technical inputs in proposal development for funding opportunities.
• To pioneer new strategic initiatives and innovative approaches in inclusive education to improve and enhance the quality of Sightsavers’ work, especially in cross-cutting priority areas like climate action, gender equity and the use of data and evidence.

This is an ideal opportunity to build on your existing expertise in leading and developing programmes in inclusive education in lower income countries. We are looking for a skilled communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships across different departments and work collaboratively as a member of our cross-functional teams.  To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A Postgraduate qualification (minimum Master’s) or equivalent experience in a relevant field, e.g. education, special needs education; disability, international development
• Business to fluent French language skills
• A proven record of leading, developing and implementing programmes in inclusive education in lower income countries.
• Experience of working with national governments and international institutions such as Global Partnership for Education, UN agencies, bilateral agencies as well as non-state actors to contribute to education system transformation.
• Knowledge of current developments, issues and best practice in inclusive education to effectively address the barriers to education for children with disabilities

About the role

As Public Affairs Officer you will provide the secretariat for the APPG for Ending Homelessness, a well-established cross-party group, with broad interest and engagement from across the sector and who have successfully influenced Government on a range of issues relating to homelessness. The Public Affairs Officer will work with the APPG co-chairs and officers to agree a strategic programme of work and to deliver events, meetings and inquiries in adherence with parliamentary procedures. You will work with the wider Policy and Campaigns team to establish the APPG position on key homelessness and housing announcements, as well as managing the APPG communications via the website, mailing list and social media. Previous APPG activities have included inquiries into the previous Government’s commitment to end rough sleeping, homelessness amongst Ukrainian refugees and homelessness upon leaving public services.

You will also shape and help deliver Crisis’ public affairs activity, including in support of our national campaigns to secure the policy changes to end homelessness, and to increase awareness of Crisis more broadly. This includes shaping regular engagement with MPs and politicians to inspire them to work with Crisis, position us as experts, as well as delivering Parliamentary events and supporting our programme of activity at political party conferences.

The role sits within the campaigns team in the Policy and Social Change directorate, but you’ll collaborate with a wide range of teams across the organisation to identify public affairs opportunities and ensure people with lived experience are at the heart of our political influencing activity, including with Crisis frontline services.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have strong knowledge of parliamentary and political procedures, including experience of working with APPGs or similar groups of politicians. We are looking to recruit an Event Administrator to support the organisation and delivery of FIGO events – including the biennial FIGO World Congress, online and regional events, webinars and internal FIGO events – through the provision of timely and accurate administrative and logistical support.

Due to internal promotion, we are looking for a Head of Trusts and Foundations to develop and maintain an outstanding portfolio of Trusts and Foundations focusing on large (six-figures+) multi-year commitments in the UK and US, and to lead the Trusts and Foundations team to reach ambitious fundraising targets and develop long-lasting relationships with funders.

The RSC Development Department works to achieve an income target of over £8 million annually of which more than £1.5 million comes from Trusts and Foundations. Our ambition is to be raising £10 million annually by 2026.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Development, key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

• Managing and leading a portfolio of large multi-year Trusts and Foundation approaches working with senior colleagues including the Senior Leadership Team.
• Creating high-quality, compelling, accurate written proposals and reports with clear robust budgets.
• Developing and implementing a Trusts and Foundations strategy to achieve financial targets through the development of existing relationships and growing a pipeline of new prospects.
• Managing and monitoring budgets and reporting on progress to target and identifying and mitigating risks.
• Leading the Trusts and Foundations team, supporting their success and ongoing development.

To be suitable for this role, you must have:

• Demonstrable experience of enabling and achieving income growth, securing and managing a portfolio of multi-year high-value relationships figures from Trusts and Foundations – meeting fundraising targets and building long-term relationships.
• Created and implemented successful strategies.
• Experience of line managing teams, including performance management and supporting development.
• The ability to write exceptional, accurate and compelling proposals and reports.
• Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to be a credible ambassador of the RSC.

This is a full-time, permanent position which can be based in either London or Stratford-upon-Avon, with regular travel between the two for events and meetings. Other travel may be required, including some international travel. The working week is Monday to Friday, 35 hours with occasional weekend and evening work will be required. Hybrid and flexible working options are available.

Following its successful relaunch, the Air Cadet Charity is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager capable of running the financial processes of this young and vibrant charity in order to help it achieve its aims of supporting and developing the young people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Air Cadet Charity, until now, has had to rely on donations with a limited range of activities but Trustees have decided to expand our activities, diversify our income generation and build a capable, respectful and highly successful staff team. Although the Charity had been around in a different guise for many years this is our first year with employed staff and so the successful applicant will need to be capable of starting from scratch, designing secure controls and being fastidious in their record keeping.

The role will focus on all aspects of financial management from book-keeping to preparing end of year accounts and everything in between as well as liaising with the auditors. Our policy is to spend all that we earn and to dip into our capital if required. Annual expenditure and income is around £900,000 each year and our aim is to increase this to around £1,500,000 by 2029. The successful applicant will have tried and tested book-keeping and financial control and management skills gained through qualification and or proven experience.

The role will work directly to the Charity Director, will suit someone who is able to work as the sole financial management expert – although there may be scope to increase our resources as our ambition grows – and not be afraid of hard work and added responsibility. It will be primarily working from home with regular contact with the Charity Director and the Trustees responsible for finance.

Specific knowledge of charitable finance controls, policies and procedures would be advantageous as would qualifications in book-keeping, accountancy or other related area. We’re looking for a proactive team player, able to work on their own initiative.

Key Focus areas

• Expert knowledge of charity finance management including the Statement of Recommended Practice.
• Establishing sound financial controls for this new charity.
• Preparation of quarterly management accounts.
• Establishing both policy and procedure enabling the Charity to achieve its purpose in a responsible and proactive manner without delay.
• Strong understanding of financial management principles but most importantly doing the right thing at all times.

Salary £35-£40k pro rata, working from home mostly, with occasional travel required, 26 days leave (excluding bank holidays).
