This fully-remote EU-time zone role would be ideally suited to someone from a B2B marketing communications background; at the intersection of travel, sustainability and tech, Travalyst has a strong focus on the industry audience. We are a small but mighty team and this role requires somebody who is equally comfortable managing and creating content for our owned channels as well as preparing our executive leaders for speaking opportunities and events.
The main focus of the Marketing & Communications Lead will be to proactively support the development and implementation of marketing communication strategies that build awareness, trust and credibility for the Travalyst brand.
Here are more specific examples of what the role entails:
Project management
- Work with Head of Department to plan and execute the marcomms for tentpole moments e.g. product launches, impact reports, our annual convening, international events such as COP etc.
Content
- Manage the rollout of our content strategy which will be focused on reach, engagement, SEO and brand trust. The content you’ll get to work on will be broad, examples include: thought leadership, trends, interviews, product insights and updates, infographics, webinars, policy papers etc.
- Proactively generate storytelling ideas and create content in-house whilst also outsourcing to (and managing) copywriters, designers, photographers and videographers.
Owned platforms
- Lead our LinkedIn strategy and manage our platform presence by ensuring a steady drumbeat of content. Optimise for KPIs including; reach, engagement, followers, web traffic.
- Manage our blog, researching and creating engaging content in our brand voice whilst optimising articles for SEO.
- Collaborate closely with the Brand and Digital Lead to maximise cross pollination opportunities across website, newsletter, blog, social media.
PR
- Lead the creation of comms assets (press releases, Q&As, media interview briefs, toolkits etc.)
- Develop strong relationships with key media to secure high quality coverage, own the media list, manage press office, monitor media activity / coverage.
Other
- Manage the marketing and editorial calendar
- Awards - entries and usage
- Events - presentation materials, support stand management
- Oversee budget for content creation and promotion
- Analytics - use analytics tools to track and improve performance, prepare quarterly activity reports
What skills we're looking for
- Excellent writing skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to distill complex information and communicate it in an accessible way.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle tasks and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, sustainability or relevant field.
- At least seven years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong content marketing and media relations expertise.
- Tools: Strong understanding of LinkedIn Analytics. Working knowledge of CMS, Email Marketing and Media Monitoring platforms (we use Wordpress, MailChimp and SignalAI). We use GSuite so knowledge of this would be helpful too.
- Bonus skills: Using video editing and visual design software to create rich content.
- Sustainability knowledge would be a distinct advantage.

Role

The energy Science Engagement Fellow has a key role in managing, developing and promoting the RMetS Energy SIG and its deliverables to build the Society’s engagement with the energy sector.
This exciting role enables the successful applicant to engage with non-academic stakeholders to build multidisciplinary partnerships, develop engagement skills and experiences, enhance their profile with stakeholders and leading academics, and grow their research impact.
The position will work closely with the Science Engagement Committee, Science Engagement Manager and the other part-time Science Engagement Fellow on sector engagement initiatives, as well as other activities that are part of the RMetS’ Science Engagement Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise and guidance to the Society on the UK energy sector in relation to weather and climate. Identify the sector’s needs and how best RMetS can provide support now and in the future.

Partnerships Executive (Interim)
The Partnerships Executive plays a key role in developing CST’s commercial relationships. Their primary responsibility is to secure conference exhibition sales to meet budget targets and manage all aspects of the exhibitor experience from prospecting to on-the-day support, to post-event communications. They also manage listings in the Directory of Services and work closely with the Partnerships Manager to support the prospecting process.
Reporting to: Partnerships Manager
Key responsibilities
1. Ensure that exhibition sales targets are met for each CST conference.
2. Maintain the CRM for commercial organisations, including creating and managing prospect groups and executing effective exhibition sales campaigns.
3. Create and maintain relevant webforms.
4. Provide excellent end-to-end support for exhibitors, including in person at larger conferences to ensure that all exhibitors’ needs are met on the day.
5. Gather feedback from exhibitors on the quality of their experience and report on what worked well and areas for improvement following each event.
6. Maintain and update marketing collateral to support CST’s commercial activities such as brochures, floorplans, briefings and manuals.
7. Cross-promote the Directory of Services to exhibitors along with other opportunities to work with CST where relevant.

- Identify and research potential trust supporters, liaising with the Senior Trust Officer and Trust Manager on new funding opportunities.

Our wellbeing programme includes multiple interest groups: music, books, hobbies etc as well as coffee and catch ups, quizzes, mindfulness, and other group activities. Everyone is encouraged to get involved in working groups and staff networks, all of which contribute to us getting to know each other. We have strong values and promote behaviours that underpin all we do.
How we recruit

Re-engage uses the Hireful platform which helps remove unconscious bias for a forward-thinking, fair, and objective alternative to traditional hiring. Instead of using your CV alone, we'll be asking you to answer questions to test essential skills needed for the role. The responses are then anonymised and reviewed in a random order by members of our team. This enables us to make data-driven assessments focused on someone's ability, rather than their background.
The Hireful platform also asks some demographic questions before you start your application. We never see these responses with your application. We only see summary statistics to help us check if our candidate pool is balanced and if everyone has an equal chance to get hired irrespective of their background. If you prefer, you can easily opt out of answering these questions.
