Role Overview:
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Certification Schemes, providing secretariat support to various boards, assisting with audits, managing financial and data processes, and supporting the registration team with administrative tasks.

Operations
On-site at Glass Door Night shelter venues in the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham or Wandsworth
20 October 2024 to late April 2025
Shifts from 6:45pm or 9:45pm to 7.15am (plus additional time if allocated driver). Hours and days of work will vary according to the needs of the service.
We are looking to recruit exceptional individuals with an open, collaborative style and a practical, can-do approach to provide a vital nightly service for our guests as Overnight Project Workers.
We value diversity and welcome all, in particular those with life experience and lived experience.
While experience of working within the homelessness sector or with similarly vulnerable people would be desirable, an understanding of the needs of people experiencing homelessness and working in a compassionate and flexible manner is more important and essential.
Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota that will include weekends and public holidays. Due to the vulnerable group you will be working with, you will be asked to undergo an enhanced DBS check as part of our safeguarding measures prior to appointment.
Please note:
Some of our Overnight Project Workers are required to have a driving licence and be able to drive a manual vehicle.
However, this post also is still suitable for those that want a non-driving role.
On each shift, one of the two Overnight Project Workers will be an allocated driver and is expected to drive the van back to its local base in Fulham or Wandsworth, depending on the shelter circuit. The allocated driver for the shift will receive an additional hour of pay for this task.
What you will do as part of our team
The Overnight Project Worker is responsible for the following:
Job spec
- Maintaining a friendly, supportive environment and cultivating positive relationships with guests, colleagues, and volunteers.
- Following best practice procedures for the security and safety of the guests and volunteers.
- Diffusing difficult or dangerous situations and summon assistance when necessary. Training will be provided. Writing regular shift reports using the In-Form client relationship platform.
- Carrying out regular checks around the shelter, checking conditions of all areas.
- Ensuring that the van is loaded correctly with shelter provisions and that no Glass Door belongings are left on site.
- Adhering to Glass Door’s operational and health & safety policies in all aspects of your work. Maintaining clear lines of communication with your colleagues including the Night Shelter Manager, Caseworkers, and the Operations Manager.
- Ensuring cleaning protocols are followed and implemented.
- Undertaking any other duties to aid the good running of the project, as required by the Shelter Manager or Operations Manager.
- Accurately reporting observations, interactions, concerns and actions with guests to their caseworker using written reports.
- Setting up and help serve a simple breakfast for guests in the morning
- Ensuring all guests are woken from 6am onwards and leave the building by 7am
- Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays.
On occasions you will also be expected to attend training, team meetings and other activities as required. The allocated driver is expected to drive the van back to its allocated base at the end of the shift to which an additional hour of pay applies for this task.

About the role:
We work within a coordinated partnership response to violence against women and girls as part of the Angelou Partnership. Within the partnership ADVANCE provides independent domestic abuse advocacy and support for women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.
The IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process specialising in working with clients at high risk. They will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice and civil remedies and related matters, support women to attend court where necessary, and coordinate the provision of multi-agency support. Part of the role will to be to establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with services providing services to clients and partner agencies within the Angelou Partnership. As a Core IDVA will work across the boroughs mentioned above, under the guidance of the team leaders and project manager.
To be successful as the Core IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:
To be successful as a Core IDVA, you’ll need to have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse sector. As an experienced domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, you will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic abuse, of supporting women involved in mental health services, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

Galop, the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, is seeking a Senior Trans+ Independent Victim Advocate to provide an effective and professional service to LGBT+ people facing violence and abuse.
Galop works directly with thousands of LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and so-called conversion therapies. We are a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, and the needs of our community are at the centre of what we do.
We run a national support helpline for LGBT+ victims and survivors of: domestic abuse; hate crime; rape and sexual abuse; and so-called “conversion therapy”. We provide advocacy services, both in London and nationally, for LGBT+ victims who need longer-term support. We are person-centred, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed – meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them, and then supporting them through their journey.
We use what we learn through working on the frontlines with clients to work on national and local policy change, to improve outcomes for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence. We build evidence through key pieces of research, like our upcoming report into LGBT+ experiences of sexual violence. We push for legislative change, improved statutory guidance for victims, and better understanding of the needs of LGBT+ people around the country.
Galop is looking for an experienced practitioner to provide effective support to Trans and Non-Binary victims and survivors of abuse and violence in the UK. You will work within the advocacy team to deliver advice, support, and advocacy to Trans and Non-Binary victims and survivors, specifically domestic abuse and sexual violence. You will act as a specialist lead within the advocacy team on to ensure that the specific needs of trans and non-binary survivors are met, including providing support, advice and expertise to your colleagues and externally.
You will have an in depth understanding of the spectrum of violence and abuse that LGBT+ people are subjected to, including the causes, impact and barriers to accessing services. You will use your expertise to represent Galop with key stakeholders, advocating for the needs of the community.
You will have expertise in delivering needs-led specialist support services. You will need to be solutions-focussed and enjoy working collaboratively across a diverse and committed team. You’ll need to have good resilience and self-care and be prepared to work in an environment where abuse and violence are regularly talked about. You’ll need to understand the impact of trauma and how that affects our team.

We are looking for an individual who will thrive in a fast-paced, rewarding role helping to change the lives of young people by taking up a fixed-term role as a part-time Project Worker in our IntoUniversity centre in North Islington. You will work closely with our existing team, supporting the delivery and organisation of the IntoUniversity programme in the centre.

Main duties of the role
