The Role

These awards equip young people with the skills and behaviours they need to become leaders through the power of music. The Music Leader Level 1 programme has just been launched, signing up over 25 schools as centres set to engage 3,000 young people, with a pipeline of 150 more. Age UK Islington is developing a new befriending service in the coming months. As part of this development, we have an exciting opportunity for a part-time role as a Befriending Coordinator.

This will involve supporting all aspects of service development, partnership building, volunteer recruitment, training and management and matching volunteers to clients for home visits, telephone befriending and/or activity-based befriending. About the Role

Camden Kaleidoscope, located in London, is an innovative, specialist-supported accommodation service focusing on mental health and complex needs. As a Service Manager you will lead a dedicated team to provide trauma-informed mental health support to young people between ages 16-24, an understanding and/or experience of trauma-informed practice would be advantageous. The young people we work with have become homeless for a number of reasons – isolation or mental ill health, abusive relationships, substance misuse, involvement in gangs/county lines - their issues are complex so you will need to be able to build strong, trusting relationships so that our customers feel safe and supported. 

We have a part time opportunity for a Caseworker - Young People, at our Ofsted registered scheme in St Albans which provides temporary housing for young people who are experiencing homelessness. 

A bit about the role:

As a part time Caseworker - Young People, you will be working with a team of highly motivated, compassionate, and dedicated colleagues supporting a caseload of young customers with complex needs. You’ll need to meet each customer weekly to help them with their goals and discuss their progress. And, when someone’s ready to move on, we'll rely on you to help them access the housing register or look for suitable rented accommodation.

What we’re looking for:

You may have worked with vulnerable young people in a paid or voluntary capacity, maybe as a Youth Worker or in an education setting providing pastoral care. You’re a great relationship builder, who can create trust so that our young people feel comfortable sharing their issues with you, you listen but in a non-judgemental way and you are able to spot signs for concern and act on them.

You’ll also need to be able to work on your own, sometimes dealing with challenging situations and diffusing them to avoid escalation. Is this you?

The Eve Appeal is the UK’s leading charity working on prevention of the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal.

The Salvation Army is seeking the right person to provide specialist expertise in the development and delivery of a national children’s discipleship strategy – with a focus on resourcing, equipping and inspiring children (ages 5-11) in local corps, centres and the wider community.

The Children’s Specialist (Discipleship) will work as part of the Children & Youth Department team (CY) that is seeking fullness of life for all with Jesus by raising leaders and young people who are disciples of Jesus in our tradition of social change and justice.

The successful candidate for this full-time position is expected to be an experienced children’s practitioner with an in-depth understanding around childhood development, emotional health and wellbeing, children’s discipleship, spirituality, transition stages, and of culture’s influence on how faith is formed and nurtured. You will have current experience of working with children in a professional capacity e.g., within a church, national charity, education and or social work sectors, and in creating innovative, relevant, and engaging discipleship and outreach resources for children in local corps, centres and the wider community. In addition, excellent collaborative, organisational and project management skills; ability to multi-task, creative writing and thinking, initiative and attention to detail are required. Experience of The Salvation Army is desirable but not essential.
