The Role:

The Managing Director sets the vision and strategy for HSW. They lead on income generation and profile raising; working with local stakeholders, building partnerships, and growing funding relationships to achieve that.  Working closely with the Board of Trustees, the MD will set annual objectives alongside long term goals - whilst providing vision and leadership to the team. The role will ensure operational excellence, providing direction & coaching when needed, to deliver innovation, sustainability & compliance. 

The Person:

Reports to: 

• Chair, Board of Trustees 

Key Responsibilities:

•  Set the overall strategy, vision and annual objectives for the organisation, alongside the Board of Trustees.
• Be accountable for the overall performance of the organisation and leadership of the team, including guidance and coaching for direct reports.
• Develop and deliver a robust and sustainable funding strategy 
• Develop and deliver the long-term grant funding strategy, leading the bidding process for the organisation. Actively research and build relationships with grant funders to maximise opportunities and success. Write & submit grant applications, working with relevant members of the Team and Trustees. Give strategic direction to the Operations Manager, as required, on progress reporting  to grant funders.
• Develop and drive the community fundraising strategy for the charity working with relevant members of the team and Trustee committee members. Build local partnerships with businesses, schools and churches to increase regular giving. 
• Actively champion and contribute to fundraising events - and generate ideas for new activity. 
• Manage key strategic partnerships, relationships and donors on an ongoing basis to ensure income, volunteer and referral pipelines are maintained to optimise the organisation’s impact. 
• Working with the Operations lead, ensure the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation. 
• Provide regular performance and progress reports to the board as requested  and ensure the charity is compliant with all HSUK policies and procedures. 
• Set and manage the annual operational budget, and ensure the effective management of all HSW resources, IT provision and operational contracts. 

Additional responsibilities: 

• Develop and advocate for the profile of the organisation within the borough and represent it to relevant bodies, including HSUK and HSL, taking an active role in working groups.  Act as an ambassador and embodiment of the organisation’s values. 
• Deliver the annual impact report alongside the Communications Manager. 
• Ensure the completion of all Operational HSUK Quality Assurance assessments.
• Be accountable for safeguarding in the operational team, working closely with the Safeguarding lead, who is responsible for delivery.
• Act as the Data Protection officer for the organisation. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Management experience of small/medium teams in the voluntary sector. 
• Proven track record of success in charity fundraising and grant application processes. 
• Experience of strategy conceptualisation and delivery- including leading others or working collaboratively to develop strategic & operational plans. 
• Successful experience of stakeholder, network or partnership working.
• Understanding of current legislation and regulatory frameworks for babies, children and families.
• Operational coordination and project management experience.
• Financial understanding & experience of managing budgets >£100,000 (TBC)
• Highly IT literate with a confident understanding of Google applications, and Charity Log, or other database management systems. 
• The ability to manage and address governance, financial, IT and personnel matters swiftly and confidently with little need for supervision. 
• Ability to produce accurate and timely reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of the local area and beneficiaries. 
• A commitment to and understanding of safeguarding, equal opportunities and data protection. 

In this role you will be responsible for managing the Trust's Unit Base Operation and will take ownership of the marketing and letting of spaces both in the buildings/structures and other suitable outdoor locations across the Trust’s 23 acres of land in North Kensington.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Unit Base Management:

Responsibility for driving improvements, developing, managing and implementing the Trust’s Unit Base operations, including:

• A promotional plan for the Trust’s offer is visible in the market place and to grow the service over time.
• A strong booking system supplying the right data for the Trust to manage the operation in a timely manner.
• Appropriate meeting and greeting, services, facilities and security provision are in place.
• Ensure all relevant information for smooth set up, use and strike, is available and passed to users of the service, including emergency or out of hours, contact information.
• Ensure a feedback mechanism is in place for users.
• Ensure a monitoring mechanism is in place for reporting upwards within the Trust.
• Ensure a risk assessment for the service is in place and kept regularly updated.

Commercial Lettings:

• Develop a marketing and lettings strategy in line with the Trust’s Asset Management Strategy.
• Proactively market all our spaces.
• Identify potential advertising locations on the estate and actively market and let such spaces, to generate new income.
• Liaise with stakeholders and tenants to support businesses and the local economy.
• Manage internal and external relationships, positively and pro-actively.
• Provide local economy support through engagement with our other tenants, community and external partners/providers.
• Establish and maintain systems for the selection of tenants and monitoring and evaluation.
• Undertake the review and selection of suitable tenants and the negotiation of terms.
• Review and approve lease/licence and other similar legal documentation.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Demonstrable experience in dealing with Landlord & Tenant matters, in a similar or equivalent role across complex property portfolios, in particular the retail sector.
• Involvement in commercial property transactions and tenancies in a commercial or community environment.
• Have good time management, organisational, communication and administrative skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Understanding of the local area and its social, cultural and political heritage would be highly desirable
• Experience in using property management software (or similar)
• Proficient at managing databases and programmes.

Personal Skills:

• A personable and collaborative approach, with proven experience of developing and maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, including tenants, community groups, Local Government and Board members.
• Good communication and negotiation skills, orally and in writing.
• Good people management and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
• The ability to be flexible and adaptable in response to changing priorities.

Qualifications:

• Commercial Property Management qualification ideal or related qualification/experience.

The post holder will be expected to have a flexible approach to working hours.  Owing to the demands of the role or events on the estate, the position may include working some evenings and weekends.

About the Service

This is an exciting and reasonably new project, ‘Flourish’ – Mental Health for Refugees in Hertfordshire, which is a highly flexible and responsive outreach service developed to meet the needs of refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine & other refugees in Hertfordshire. The aim of the service will be to support refugees in the community with multiple needs who have mental health support as a primary need.

The countywide holistic service also provides emotional wellbeing support for families who are hosting refugees.

The Flourish Team Leader plays a significant role in the co-ordination and running of the Flourish service. This role is key to the development and support of the team and the wider organisation.

Service Objectives

• To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.
• Support to build social networks and reduce isolation whilst settling into the Hertfordshire community this includes building a sustainable and empowering peer support network and building confidence and self-esteem.
• To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• To work in a trauma informed way including awareness of the 6 principles of trauma informed practice, putting the clients emotional and practical needs at the forefront of this work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Services Manager with effective running of the Flourish service.
• Mange a caseload of up to 3 clients
• Provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing.
• Line manage staff and where necessary volunteers.
• Maintain and enhance service delivery standards and effectiveness.
• Lead a team of Flourish Outreach Workers. Ensuring the team are using databases and outcome tools as required to report for the project.
• Promoting the service, increasing visibility and being responsive to changing needs.
• Provide practical and emotional support to encourage service users to develop their independence within their local community.
• Monitor outcomes and evaluate the service. Produce quarterly reports.
• Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of service users using the service is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and recovery orientated approach in all aspects of the roles and responsibilities.
• Oversee Flourish peer support groups in hotels and the community
• Overseeing and coordinating Flourish Together Events for Separated Migrant Children and Young People.
• Become level 3 trained in Safeguarding

Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the UK’s biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. For 11 years, it has been transforming the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition through volunteer led Dementia Friends Sessions and tailored resources for organisations. The programme supports individuals and organisations to understand more about dementia and inspires them to take meaningful action to bring help and hope to everyone affected by dementia.

This varied role is all about engaging volunteers, organisations and other internal and external stakeholders with this flagship programme. The role will work across a specified region to recruit, engage, train and support Dementia Friends Ambassadors (DFAs) volunteers. It will support development of new learning resources for programme routes and work with teams across Alzheimer’s Society to support them to use to all programme routes to build relationships and deliver impact.

Most importantly, this role will give you the opportunity to really make a difference for people affected by dementia by raising the awareness of small steps that everyone can take to make the world a better place for them. You will be inspiring behaviour change at all levels!

About you

We are looking for an empathetic and organised volunteer manager who loves to engage and inspire people. You will have experience of managing volunteers, developing resources and delivering training to a wide range of stakeholders both virtually and in person. You will be a confident influencer who is happy to work on multiple things at once.
The Dementia Friends Engagement Officer will work closely with teams across the Society to ensure that the Dementia Friends Programme is integrated into all of the work that Alzheimer’s Society does and is seen as a force for change.  You’ll be a great relationship builder, whose passion is delivering excellent stewardship and who’s skilled at supporting and influencing multiple stakeholders. You’ll have excellent project management and IT skills including using all Microsoft packages and experience of using databases to record and report on data.

You will be part of a geographically dispersed team of Dementia Friends Engagement Officers, which sits in the wider Dementia Friends team and supports colleagues across the organisation. You’ll be expected to work autonomously to deliver within your region, but you’ll also have the opportunity to work collaboratively within the team and across the organisation on key projects.

The role will be primarily home based but you will need to be able to travel across your region. There may be some occasions where you need to travel outside of your region.  As the role is home based, this role requires access to your own reliable internet connection and a minimum 10Mb/s broadband. The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. About the role

The Marketing Lead (Membership and Events) is responsible for leading on the marketing activities for the Association’s income generating products and services, including member recruitment, member retention and educational events.

Working with teams across the whole organisation, the post-holder will play a vital role in devising and delivering impactful and joined-up campaigns, while ensuring that our members are at the heart of everything that we do.

Key responsibilities include:

• Devising and delivering marketing plans for membership recruitment in line with the Association’s new member value proposition and growth targets
• Delivering the communications plans for subscription renewals
• Reviewing and improving the onboarding journey for new members
• Supporting the development of the Association’s website
• Devising and delivering a marketing strategy for educational events and conferences

About you

We are looking for an empathetic, organised and proactive Services Manager to join our team. This role will oversee the day-to-day delivery of Sebby’s Corner’s core support services, including Essentials Support Collections, our New Parent Baby Essentials Experience, and seasonal programmes like School Uniform Support and Christmas Support.

You will work closely with referral partners, families and our internal team to ensure that every interaction is positive, dignified, and effective. You’ll also take the lead on safeguarding and be responsible for signposting families to external support where appropriate.

About Sebby’s Corner

Sebby's Corner is based in Barnet, EN5 and our aim is to ensure that no child goes without the basic essentials they need to thrive. We supply items such as clothing, nappies, formula and baby equipment to local families living in poverty. Families in need get referred to us by social workers, health visitors, family support workers, midwives and other professionals from our 800-strong referral partner network.

We also offer school uniform support in the summer and a Birthday Club that ensures children have the chance to celebrate with gifts, balloons and a cake. At Christmas, we host a festive shop where families can choose presents for their children, giving children the chance to have a Christmas just like their peers.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

Service Delivery

• Guiding families during their New Parent Baby Essentials Experience appointment, helping them choose the items they need for their baby. Ensure clients feel supported and empowered when choosing items.
• Coordinate logistics, appointments, stock, and setup for our two seasonal services within a set timeline and budget - Christmas Support and School Uniform Support.
• Manage booking system across our services
• Ensure families and referral partners have a welcoming and respectful experience at the hub.
• Support complex referrals and work alongside the Referrals Coordinator to meet urgent or sensitive needs.
• Supporting our Referrals Co-ordinator with the Essentials Support service during busy periods to ensure families and referral partners who are collecting receive a positive and dignified experience and receive the items they requested.

Impact & Evaluation

• Gather and respond to feedback from families and volunteers to improve future service delivery.
• Provide reporting and statistics for impact reporting.

Referral Partner Engagement

• Act as a main point of contact for referral partners and schools.
• Onboarding new referral partners by providing clear information about service criteria, availability, and referral processes.
• Deliver briefings, training sessions, and guidance materials to improve referral quality and understanding.

Signposting & Partnerships

• Help families access additional support by providing signposting to trusted local services.
• Maintain a regularly updated resource list on the website and collaborate with partners to expand support options.
• Promote and lead on our Service Delivery partnerships such as educational workshops with Parent Learning Platform and antenatal classes with All About Babies and encourage family engagement.

Safeguarding

• Serve as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and first point of contact for all safeguarding concerns. Make onward safeguarding referrals via MASH where necessary.
• Ensure all staff and volunteers receive appropriate safeguarding training.
• Create a culture of safety and openness, where concerns are raised and addressed appropriately.

• Experience in service delivery or frontline support
• Strong organisational and proactive time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Confident managing sensitive information and safeguarding procedures

What we can offer

Salary and pension
The salary range for this role is £30,000 - £34,000 FTE per annum (gross), dependent on experience and pro-rated if you work part-time. If eligible to join the pension scheme, we will match your contributions by 5%.

Annual leave
You will be entitled to 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time roles). We usually close between Christmas and New Year without this time coming off your annual leave allowance.
