The vacancy
Could you be a part time Caseworker - Young People for vulnerable young people aged between 16 to 25 years? Could you give them the support and guidance they need to get back on their feet and live independently?
The young people we work with have become homeless for a number of reasons – isolation or mental ill health, abusive relationships, substance misuse, involvement in gangs/county lines - their issues are complex so you will need to be able to build strong, trusting relationships so that our customers feel safe and supported.
We have a part time opportunity for a Caseworker - Young People, at our Ofsted registered scheme in St Albans which provides temporary housing for young people who are experiencing homelessness.
A bit about the role:
As a part time Caseworker - Young People, you will be working with a team of highly motivated, compassionate, and dedicated colleagues supporting a caseload of young customers with complex needs. You’ll need to meet each customer weekly to help them with their goals and discuss their progress. And, when someone’s ready to move on, we'll rely on you to help them access the housing register or look for suitable rented accommodation.
What we’re looking for:
You may have worked with vulnerable young people in a paid or voluntary capacity, maybe as a Youth Worker or in an education setting providing pastoral care. You’re a great relationship builder, who can create trust so that our young people feel comfortable sharing their issues with you, you listen but in a non-judgemental way and you are able to spot signs for concern and act on them.
You’ll also need to be able to work on your own, sometimes dealing with challenging situations and diffusing them to avoid escalation. Is this you?

This role will require an Enhanced DBS check.
It is essential that you can work more than 20 hours per week because the contract is for 20-day hours plus one sleep in per week (which amounts to up to an extra income of up to £3,842.28 per year on top of your annual salary).
Shifts are across 7 days per week, so includes weekends and bank holidays.
Rotas will be issued four weeks in advance and will include working between the hours of 8AM to 11PM, no more than 7.5 hours each day.
Sleep ins will start from 11PM.

Job Vacancy – Regional Adviser

The right candidate will enjoy and excel at managing their own diary and workload and would have significant experience of working in an educational, health or social care environment. Our Regional Advisers are home-based workers who are compassionate and dedicated to responding to the needs of Freemasons and their dependents in their area, providing essential support. They are professional and accountable, working independently but collaborating with volunteers, colleagues, and local agencies to provide an exceptional service on behalf of the charity.
Their main purpose is to visit and contact members of the Masonic community to determine their needs and to help them to access support from the MCF and other relevant agencies. Support is provided through a combination of home visits, telephone calls, or video calling.
The role also provides guidance, support and recommendations to office based staff processing applications for our extensive range of grants to support those in need. They form close and effective working relationships with local volunteers, providing support and guidance to extend our reach.
Main responsibilities
- Responding to/visiting freemasons and their dependents to:
- provide support and advice; and
- determine relevant support from the MCF or other agencies to meet their needs
- Face-to-face visits, video conferencing and in-depth telephone calls are required to provide extensive and detailed support.
- Production of accurate and comprehensive reports detailing agreed plans and all relevant supporting documents

Engagement Lead Health Inequity
This is an exciting opportunity to work with those affected by stroke and those working in stroke, to focus on the health inequity that stroke survivors experience. The Role
The project has recently been through the research and design phase and is now ready to implement a number of tests to address health inequities experienced by Stroke survivors following their stroke. The project exploration and design has taken a collaborative approach with our NHS colleagues, the Engagement Lead will continue with this approach.

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated person with a passion for volunteering and training who can aide in helping to build and sustain a solid and quality framework for the volunteering and workforce training provision at Mind BLMK.
The successful candidate will aide in the creation and administration of cohesive processes and systems for workforce training and in ensuring that Mind BLMK increases its engagement of volunteers, which will include establishing community links and supporting the organisation’s vision and values.
Key Duties
- Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and mapping of Mind BLMK’s current workforce training offer, helping to identify gaps in provision (e.g. through staff appraisals, supervisions etc.), evaluate alternative solutions and making recommendations for effective and impactful training pathways as needed for all staff and volunteers.
- Continue the ongoing audit of existing staff and volunteer training records and maintain the framework for storing and reviewing staff and volunteer training records.
- Monitor and develop if necessary the monitoring system that shows staff and volunteers are completing the training required for their role and taking action when gaps are identified.
- Manage the staff training inbox and coordinate the administrative aspects of the training cycle, such as scheduling, booking, invoicing, and reporting.
- Promote and support the value of volunteering within Mind BLMK and with external organisations.
- Continue to review and monitor all existing volunteer roles on an ongoing basis to ensure an effective volunteer contribution in line with contractual obligations where appropriate is maintained across all departments.
- Aide managers with procedures for designing volunteer roles, managing enquiries, applications, interviews, references, DBS checks and provide a supportive oversight of each candidate’s volunteering cycle.
- Support the induction of volunteers ensuring they are positively onboarded into Mind BLMK and understand the culture, values, and code of conduct.
- Ensure processes are in place for all volunteers to receive training and regular one to one support by the appropriate person.
- Facilitate and manage meetings with volunteers and project staff as appropriate.
- Be responsible for ensuring the volunteer database and administrative tasks, including monitoring, and recording in relation to these duties is kept up to date.

Background
The European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) is one of the world’s pre-eminent symphony orchestras. An orchestra of dynamism, youthful energy, and passion shaped afresh each year with highly talented musicians from all 27 EU Member States. Recognised across the world for the excellence of its music-making, and for its success in nurturing the careers of generations of young musicians, the EUYO is always at the forefront, anticipating and reacting to the changing world around it, equipping its members for careers in that world and forging change within the classical music and cultural sectors.
For the past half-decade, the statutory public funding won by the EUYO was sufficient to finance its activities. Now, with a new base in Austria, an expanded programme, preparations for its 50th anniversary, and with the challenges of current general global uncertainty, the EUYO wishes to extend its revenue base by reigniting its previously strong tradition in private funding and corporate relationships, beginning with the recruitment of a Head of Development and Philanthropy. The Head of Development and Philanthropy will have responsibility for fundraising from corporates, individuals and trusts and foundations. The responsibility for the EUYO’s statutory public funding from EU, EU member state and local and regional public institutions will continue to be held by the Executive & Artistic Director and the Head of Executive & Finance.
In order to assist this process, the last year 18 months have been used by the Orchestra to create and put in place new development processes and initial donors, including utilising a skilled volunteer Board level fundraising committee, setting up a cross border tax incentive scheme, creating a new bespoke CRM integrated with the Orchestra’s database, creating a new website support area, initiating new patrons and individuals programmes and the base strategy for a new alumni programme, and recruiting new initial corporate donors. Now, with all of these processes and achievements in place, the EUYO seeks a dynamic entrepreneurial fundraiser to help deliver the Orchestra’s exciting future programme, and over time, to grow a fundraising team as income generation builds.
Purpose of role

we are now seeking an exceptional Head of Development and Philanthropy to join that team. The

Reporting to the Executive and Artistic Director, this role will suit a dynamic, ambitious, collegiate and entrepreneurial individual. Working in close collaboration with colleagues, you will be responsible for shaping the nature of the EUYO’s fundraising. Primary responsibilities
Key responsibilities
- Continued delivery of the organisation’s fundraising strategy, alongside the opportunity to also develop, rethink and remould it, all in consultation with the Executive and Artistic Director and with the support of our Fundraising Committee, Board, Advisory Council and key stakeholders across the EU.
- Build on EUYO’s compelling case for support and identify specific projects which align with the EUYO’s strategic plan, and which demonstrate the difference that philanthropy will make in delivering on the mission.
- Work with the Executive and Artistic Director and the Head of Communications and Advocacy to ensure together a cohesive integrated public facing language for the organisation in its communications, balancing the needs of different audiences
- Sustain a range of giving programmes: membership, appeals and major giving opportunities which appeal to donors and can be delivered with available resources.
- Ensure systems for renewal of current supporters and developing a pipeline of future donors, which includes a range of corporates, individuals, and trusts and foundations.
- Work with the Fundraising Committee to develop annual appeals and create a strategic plan for the 50th Anniversary Appeal.
- Work with the finance team to analyse the effectiveness of different fundraising initiatives, manage budgets and support financial reporting.
- Co-ordinate monitoring, evaluation and reporting for all non-funded projects, with EUYO colleagues.

Governance and finance
- Keep up to date with changes in fundraising regulation and ensure implementation where required.
- Work with the Head of Executive and Finance to set and manage expenditure and report on ROI.
- Manage quarterly Fundraising Committee meetings in conjunction with the Committee Chair.
- Work with the Fundraising Committee to research new potential committee members.
- Regularly review the Fundraising Policy and associated policies.

Individual giving
- Build on and develop the current major donor strategy to secure long term support.
- Manage the EUYO’s membership and patron’s programmes with the support of the Communications Team.
- Manage existing donor membership schemes and increase membership year-on-year.
- Research and cultivate a pool of prospective individual donors in conjunction with the Executive and Artistic Director, Trustees and Directors and maintain close relationships with existing donors.

Corporate giving
- Develop a healthy prospect list of companies, both nationally and internationally.

- Work with the Executive and Artistic Director, Fundraising Committee, Board and Advisory Council to cultivate and steward corporate partners.
- Explore the potential of corporate membership and, if implemented, administer and service the Corporate Membership Scheme, maintaining close relationships with the members’ nominated contacts, circulating information, and ensuring that members enjoy the full extent of the benefits.
- Ensure all corporate partners and sponsors receive appropriate reports as required and in a timely manner.
Trusts and foundations
- Develop a pipeline of trusts and foundation prospects, working with the Executive and Artistic Director and the Head of Executive and Finance to develop appropriate resource for this new pipeline of prospects where necessary.
- Research and apply for funding from trusts and foundations.
- Work with the EUYO colleagues to measure impact and outputs from grant funding.
- Monitor delivery progress and ensure reporting according to grant funding requirements.

Profile
