Role Purpose
The Senior Accountant will be part of the Khalsa Aid Management Team and will report to the CFO. You will provide financial leadership in all financial areas including production of monthly accounts; financial controls; general accounting; budgets; financial planning and analysis; policy management and adherence; compliance; risk; exchange rate management; key business and financial processes; cost management and auditing. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the organisation’s financial health, compliance and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Operational Management
- Preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics; including monthly Business Performance Report, KPI’s, and Management Accounts, Project Aid reporting as well as annual financial reports
- Oversee budgeting, and the implementation of budgets, setting goals.
- Present operational metrics to monitor progress on the efficient spending of KAI Charity Aid funds. Implement a programme of timely corrective actions where necessary thereby implementing best in class practices
- Ensure that financial records and systems are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and are compliant with Charity reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with organisation policies and procedures, a robust controls environment is in place and that approval processes are adhered to
- Manage cash flow and exchange risk including proactive working capital management and accurate cash forecasting
- Direct all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting including foreign operations
- Ensure Management Information Systems are appropriate for internal, external and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate business processes, recommend and implement improvements
Team Management
- Provide leadership to the Accounts Assistant by providing clear goals and objectives.
- Lead with a management style that creates a culture that fosters collaboration, encourages cooperation, promotes creativity, values willingness to assume prudent risk and responsibility, reflects a sense of urgency and ensures results driven work environment
- Engage other members of the Khalsa Aid Team to facilitate cross-department collaboration that ensures that all financial and related IT solutions positively support the business’s strategic plan execution, operational delivery, and data collection needs
Detailed tasks to be carried out:
- Day-to-Day Financial Operations:
- Monitor bills, invoicing, donations, and other transactions.
- Oversee the work of the Finance Assistant.
- Register invoices from suppliers and service providers for payment.
- Handle various donation platforms (e.g., JustGiving, Enthuse, Worldpay, Donorbox).
- Post and review month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Process purchase orders and bills.
- Answer supplier and donor queries.
- Monitor email inboxes and confirm donations.
- Banking and Reconciliation:
- Enter payments in the bank for authorization.
- Complete and check bank reconciliation for various accounts using XERO.
- Monitor restricted fund movements.
- Track and report fund utilization.
- Maintain petty cash and handle cash/cheques.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor cash flow and ensure liquidity for overseas operations.
- Inform Treasurers about fund requirements.
- Arrange cash for overseas travel.
- Payroll Duties:
- Process monthly payroll, including RTI submissions and pension feeds.
- Handle new starters, leavers, absences, and statutory leave/pay.
- File P11D-B for benefits in kind.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and department managers.
- Assist in writing and finalizing the Annual Trustee report.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Liaise with auditors and third-party contractors.
- Assist with annual reviews from charity commissions and banks.
- Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures.
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Support CFO in month-end and year-end processes
- Assist in forecasting and budget preparation.
- Conduct variance analysis and review balance sheet reconciliations.
- Implement audit recommendations.
- Stay informed about accounting software and technological advances.
- Insurance – ensure adequate cover for insurance.
Role Requirements

Qualifications/ Skills Required
- Recognised professional accounting qualification or enroute to qualification
- Educated to degree standard
- Work experience is essential – 2-3 years in a busy organisation, preferably a UK charity
- Knowledgeable of the regulatory and reporting requirements for a UK Charity
- Technically and managerially competent with impact awareness of specialist areas including accounting, controls and governance, audit, ethics and risk management
- IT literate – Microsoft, finance and management accounting systems, ERP systems
- Experience in XERO and Gift Aid will be an added advantage
- Additional languages such as Punjabi, Hindi or Urdu would be advantageous

Summary of the role:
As the Philanthropy Manager, you will oversee the development of existing high-net-worth (HNW) donors and cultivate new high-net-worth prospects. You will work closely with key Third Party supporters to establish our presence nationally. A key part of your role will be to strategise to identify new high-net-worth donors and create long-term relationships, ensuring that Muslim Aid becomes their charity of choice. - Develop a three-year high-net donor strategy with stakeholders that drives long-term sustainable revenue and year on year growth.

About you:
We are seeking someone who is comfortable and experienced working in a small company or charity, understanding that our capacity and resources are limited. A 'can do' attitude and a motivated approach are essential. While direct experience with homelessness may not be necessary, you should have a solid understanding of the common challenges faced by those who have been homeless. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to identify and promptly address risks or safeguarding concerns. Empathy, attentive listening, and strong verbal communication skills are also key requirements. Proficiency with IT and the ability to maintain up-to-date records in our database are necessary. Additionally, you should have the tools to maintain your well-being in what can be a challenging but rewarding role. You will need to demonstrate and build the resilience required to work with individuals who may struggle to engage with services like ours and think creatively to encourage engagement. While practical experience supporting vulnerable adults is highly desirable, we are also interested in hearing from you if you have transferable skills and a willingness to learn, even if you haven't worked in the homelessness sector before.

A leading Multi-Academy Trust comprised of 11 primary and secondary schools in the East Midlands is seeking a minimum of 2 Strategic Finance Business Partners for full-time, permanent roles.
With a salary of £54,939 per annum plus an excellent local government pension scheme, the roles will be largely onsite at the Trust’s Head Office in Kettering and onsite at the schools – either in Kettering, Corby or Wisbech.
The roles will involve producing management accounts and genuine strategic finance business partnering to a range of budget holders in schools – headteachers, senior leadership team members, catering and IT Managers etc. There may also be some budgeting and analysis at central Trust level in addition to working with the schools.
The role also involves costing and cost analysis, interpreting complex financial data, journal postings and assisting with year-end close.
Being a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) is an essential criteria for these roles. Prior experience within a Multi-Academy Trust or from within the Education sector would be advantageous. Experience working with facilities, catering or IT budgets and departments would also be of interest – but not essential.
The roles are responsible for enhancing strategic financial analysis and insight to enable the understanding, of financial reporting on Trust performance to key stakeholders, including the Trust Executive Team, Heads of Professions and school leadership teams. The roles will ensure the efficient and effective allocation of resource, integrating finance and curriculum planning, allocating and managing finance in line with ESFA and academy handbook financial requirements.
The positions report to the Head of Finance Business Partnering and do not line manage anyone.
Duties will include:
-Develop excellent working relationships with key stakeholders across the Trust, ensuring KPIS, professional strategic financial advice and guidance is provided and applied effectively
-Ensure monthly reporting is accurate, fit for purpose and facilitates effective decision making at school and Trust level in conjunction with the requirements of the CFO and best practice
-Provide analysis and insight, linking financial reports to School and Trust strategies
-Provide ongoing higher-level support and guidance on financial matters to relevant stakeholders
-Support and advise budget holders on the development and submission of business cases as and when required, maximising the link and priority of good financial stewardship and front-line education delivery
-To undertake project- based work for specific projects and programmes
-Provide quality information as required for external bodies for example to the ESFA or the external auditors
-To undertake any other duties, commensurate with the level of the post, as may be required from time to time.

Duties and responsibilities
- Lead the technical production of high-profile, technically complex events and assist in the hands-on delivery of events in line with the programme requirements for the venue.

- Brief and hand over of the relevant files to the freelancer team before events.

- Ensure that AV equipment is maintained, undertaking necessary repairs or utilising a maintenance company services.
- Prepare and maintain user guides and maintain an inventory of Society AV equipment.
- Carry out regular liaison with senior executives and high-profile clients regarding their event AV needs.
- Work with the Venue team to provide feedback on possible enhancements and improvements to the Society’s Events spaces.
- Meet regularly with Venue hire team colleagues to plan and fill all events requests for the week ahead including hybrid events, conferences, webinars, broadcasts, and streaming.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a part-time Operations Administrator to work within the Operations team for Centre 33. Centre 33 is a well-respected charity based in five Hubs in Cambridgeshire and is well known for our support for young people.
Purpose of your job
The Operations Administrator role will report to the Operations Manager and will assist with the smooth and healthy running of each Hub enabling staff to deliver their work effectively. The job holder must have excellent communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative, think ‘outside of the box’ and be able to effectively plan their own workload. They will be expected to work with the Facilities Officer and liaise closely with Hub administrators in other locations and will be key in the administration of areas such as Facilities, IT and Telephone Equipment provision, Consumables and Stationery ordering, Health and Safety and Hub Maintenance. There will also be an element of working closely with and supporting the Operations Manager to ensure the effective use of software systems, such as Microsoft Sharepoint and Teams as well as being involved in ad hoc projects.

The Finance Officer is part of the Organisational Support and Development (OSD) team at the Tax Justice Network, which is led by the Director of OSD, and the role reports to the Head of Finance and Reporting. The OSD team leads and delivers on a range of operational services from finance management, risk management, project management, event management, human resources, IT systems and other enabling functions. The team is also responsible for fundraising for the organisation. This includes respond to calls for proposals, track funding opportunities and engage with donors regularly.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake the day-to-day bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking payroll and general ledger maintenance
- Ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial records and keeping a clear audit trail of all financial records
- Manage the staff payroll process including pension, HMRC and other related processes
- Manage the periodic payment runs and ensure that all payments are paid on time

• Holding or working towards a CCAB, CIMA or overseas equivalent qualification

Evolve, a leading mental health counselling charity, is seeking a part-time administrator receptionist, to be the first point of contact for clients seeking our non-emergency professional mental health counselling services.
The postholder will manage phone calls and web enquiries through to successful conclusions via our Head of Counselling and their team of over fifty counsellors, creating and maintaining client records with Charitylog – a client records management system.
