Job purpose

· To support the team with the organisation and delivery of all food education programmes

Key tasks include:

· Providing project support to the Senior Partnerships and Programmes Officer and Development Manager in both the office and on-site to deliver SFM’s food education programmes, including gathering quotes and photos on projects

· Creating new and maintaining existing relationships with schools

This role involves providing a community engagement service and administrative support in association with the Senior Community Engagement Officer (SCEO) and residents. You will support the SCEO to develop and maintain resident engagement routes and assist in producing and disseminating key performance indicator information.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with local communities to achieve positive outcomes and a background in housing or administrative roles. They should excel in written and verbal communication, interpersonal relations, report writing, organisation, negotiation, IT and possess strong customer service skills.

Job Purpose

• Provide administrative support and service to the Senior Community Engagement Officer (SCEO) and residents in respect of consultation and community development.
• Support the SCEO to develop and maintain resident engagement routes including the Resident Voice database in addition to other meetings/events.
•  Assist the SCEO in producing and disseminating KPI information as necessary.
• Provide a responsive highly supportive and proactive administrative service as required to SCEO.
• Assist the SCEO to prepare and present reports, in a timely fashion, as required.

It is the RSPB’s belief that respectful stewardship of personal data is essential in retaining the trust of our supporters. You will provide specialist advice on Data Protection (UK GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018) and Fundraising laws and regulations across the UK, EU and internationally. This includes advice on systems and process changes to ensure RSPB operates in a compliant way. The DPO will provide advice in respect of the development of RSPB internal processes, policies and associated functional strategies, programmes and projects.

The Data Protection Officer will lead on investigations and complaints about data breaches and responsible for the management, administration and delivery of matters in relation to Data Subjects Rights, including Data Subject Access Requests, Right to be Forgotten requests. Individuals must have a legal qualification (law degree or other qualification) and/or experience in a relevant legal field (practitioner/solicitor/barrister in England & Wales or Northern Ireland).

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Practitioner qualification in Data Protection.
• English law degree/qualification as solicitor or barrister in England and Wales.
• Experience of working in connection to data protection and fundraising regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of Data Protection and fundraising.
• Able to communicate effectively and work as part of team.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proactive and flexible approach to working.
• IT literate, sound knowledge of MS Office and conversant with electronic communications including SharePoint.
• Ability to work to deadlines.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Able to review and interpret complex documents and assess relevance to RSPB.
• Able to independently research aspects of regulation and legislation.

The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
