Background The Ubele Initiative was established in 2014 as an African Diaspora led intergenerational social enterprise. Our mission is helping to build more sustainable black and racially minoritized communities across the UK. Ubele is unique in that it was built from bottom-up and is intentionally an intergenerational organisation. Over the past few years, we have designed and delivered a wide range of local, regional, national, and international initiatives which seek to create and build community wealth. We support black and racially minoritized community led organisations and groups with their community assets (physical space, organisations, and people). We use social action, community enterprise development, participatory learning & skills development, and next generation leadership initiatives.
About The Role As the Time to Shine (T2S) leader you will make a direct contribution to two key areas of work: our intergenerational leadership programmes and our approaches to capturing and recording our social impact measurements. In order to meet the criteria for the T2S programme we are seeking candidates who are unemployed or underemployed. This role is designed to be an entry level role and therefore we recognise that candidates may have limited work experience but can have a wealth of experience from other activities and we would love to hear about how those skills can transfer to this role. The T2S leader will be introduced to and have the opportunity to practice using innovative approaches to leadership development, processes and models which support Black women’s and young women’s growth and confidence building as community leaders. This experience will support your own personal development and professional understanding of some of the approaches that can be used to support leadership capability building in our sector. You will add much needed organisational capacity to both areas of work enabling us to further build our emerging body of intergenerational work for which we aim to create a model. You will also help us to bring our data to life and for our social impact outcomes to reach a much wider audience than in the past three years through, for example, being supported to develop skills in storytelling, case studies, videography, vlogs and via our social media platforms.
Main duties and responsibilities
Leadership Development
• Programme co-design and supporting implementation: Develop and implement leadership development programmes tailored to the needs of Black women. This involves co-creating curricula that address both personal and professional growth, ensuring they are inclusive, empowering, and effective.
• Mentorship Strategies: Contribute to the design and implementation of mentorship initiatives that foster intergenerational connections. These strategies should help promote the transfer of knowledge, skills, and experience between seasoned and emerging leaders, supporting holistic leadership development.
• Support the design and co-ordination of a national Women of Colour Leadership Summit – April 2025 • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify leadership development needs and opportunities. Social Impact Measurement
• Data Collection and Analysis: Contribute to refining and enhancing our data collection methodologies to ensure accurate measurement of programme effectiveness. Supporting the development of robust systems for capturing relevant data and analysing results.
• Learning and then implementing creative data collection methods and processes to enhance reach and engagement
• Impact Reporting: Contribute to creating and maintaining impact reports that communicate the outcomes and value of our programmes. Reports should be clear, compelling, and supported by data, highlighting the achievements and areas for improvement.
• Programme Evaluation: contribute to using data insights to inform programmatic adjustments and strategic decisions. Regularly evaluate programme performance and suggest improvements based on findings to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency. General
• To attend and participate in internal and external meetings including staff meetings and meetings with key stakeholders. • To attend relevant training to fulfil the requirements of the job.

Reporting: The T2S Leader will report directly to the Yvonne Field. Engagement will include regular meetings to review progress, set priorities, and address any challenges. Check-ins and periodic performance reviews will also be part of the role to ensure alignment with organisational goals and provide ongoing support.

Weekly hours 37.5 hours per week.

Holidays 20 days annual leave and 8 UK bank holidays for full time employees, pro-rated for part time.
Flexible Working Location We are open to applications from candidates across the UK that are willing to travel regularly. to our London office based in North London. We currently operate a 2 days per week office minimum for full time staff with Thursdays being the anchor day where all staff should attend the office.

ISEAL is offering an exciting opportunity for a part-time internship in its Policy & Engagement team to get insights in a sustainability focused policy setting and support the work on China. The internship provides valuable learning across a range of administrative, logistics, and research support.
ISEAL supports sustainability standards and similar market-based sustainability systems to improve their impacts on people and planet.
The ISEAL Policy and Engagement team focuses on understanding the latest policies from around the world to support governments and businesses to achieve greater sustainable development outcomes. The Policy and Engagement team's key goal is to support achievement of ISEAL’s strategic objectives around credibility and the role of voluntary sustainability standards and related systems by working with policy-makers and businesses and those that influence them. We also track and analyse emerging policy issues of relevance to ISEAL and its Community, build partnerships and engage in outreach to support ISEAL’s engagement goals of broadening the applicability of ISEAL’s credibility tools and supporting effective use of credible sustainability systems.
In China in recent years, policy makers and business leaders have been increasingly focusing on green and high-quality growth and China's role in developing and using sustainability standards and guidelines to support this development approach. Through technical expertise aligned to economic trends and policy priorities, ISEAL is keen to support Chinese standard setters, policy makers and other stakeholders as they grasp opportunities to use and manage credible sustainability standards to achieve important goals like greening trade and finance, and strengthening sustainable production and consumption.
The ideal intern candidate will bring existing skills in research, show good organisation ability and, ideally, have relevant language skills and a keen interest in policy and trade issues, especially pertaining to the Chinese context. We are looking for someone who is versatile, with good people and communication skills and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple tasks and activities to support.
Key learning areas we will offer:
As intern you will report into the Policy & Outreach Manager and play an active part in ISEAL´s activities involving China and Chinese stakeholders:
- Support quarterly China-focused ISEAL community member meetings, including preparation work for the meeting, logistics, setting up slides, taking notes and help address any follow up actions
- Participate in meetings with organisations as part of ongoing collaboration, including any logistics, note taking and support follow up actions
- Help identify relevant stakeholders and ways of supporting their sustainability goals
- Support on general administration of policy and engagement work
- Depending on Chinese language skills, help review translations of materials in simplified Chinese
- Join policy and engagement team meeting for exposure to wider policy work at ISEAL
Competencies required
- Good organisational and administrative skills, including ability to schedule meetings, set up virtual calls, take notes and keep information up to date
- Good time management and ability to organise multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently with good attention to detail
- Excellent written & spoken English, with proven ability to write clearly and concisely
- Comfortable communicating with international stakeholders in online and in person setting (e.g. webinars, workshops etc)
- Confidence in using the Microsoft Office suite, familiarity with virtual meeting tools (e.g. MS Teams, Zoom, etc)
- Academic or other background in policy, politics or sustainability
- Interest in social, environmental, and economic sustainability
- Ideally, mandarin speaker with native fluency and with ability to read simplified Chinese at advanced level
- If language proficiency in Mandarin / Chinese is at lower level, in-depth knowledge of Chinese political landscape may be sufficient

- Some understanding of, sustainability standards and certification, which may have been gained in academic, internship, employment or voluntary settings

About the Role
upReach is recruiting for our unique Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP). This is a great opportunity for anyone who is passionate about social mobility, and looking to gain exposure to various aspects of charity management whilst working with university students who are exploring their career options. About the FCLP
upReach’s Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP) is a graduate programme combining delivery work (supporting our Associates) with exposure to a range of aspects of charity management.
As a Programme Coordinator on the FCLP you will be delivering personalised employment-focused support to a cohort of approximately 80 Associates, helping transform their lives by equipping them with the necessary skills to secure a top graduate job. During a typical week, you should expect to be working across a range of projects including 1:1 undergraduate coaching, group workshops, webinars (we refer to them as Video Forums), partnership management (both with university partners or employer partners) and more!
In addition to this, the programme offers the opportunity to develop skills in key areas of charity management by participating in 3 rounds of six-month rotations. After your initial 18 months and the completion of 3 six-month rotations, you will have the opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship to further develop your leadership skills.
Throughout the programme, you will receive dedicated internal training developing your leadership skills building your confidence in the role.
Through our partnership with The Circle Line, you will be part of a supportive peer group, offered regular personal development training workshops online and in-person on their '12 Tools for Life'. You will also be able to choose your own practitioner to support you with 1:1 sessions throughout the programme to help you unlock more of your unique potential.
What will I be doing?
The FCLP is a fast-paced but rewarding role. Programme Coordinators spend 80% of their time (4 days per week) working directly with associates to enhance their career knowledge and skills and 20% (1 day per week) on a charity management rotation (or an apprenticeship after 18-months). No two days are the same, but your responsibilities may include:

About the role
The Senior Volunteer officer will work to involve the local community in enhancing and taking care of the park and will support all areas of the Trust’s work, including visitor experience, gardening and supporting the delivery of the Trust’s growing public programme of seasonal, community-focused activities and events. You will work as part of the project team that includes a new Senior Community Engagement Officer. The postholder will also create opportunities for paid sandwich placements, internships and work placements.
The role is offered on a two year fixed term contract with Crystal Palace Park Trust. Any extension after 31 December 2026 is subject to funding.
This role is funded by the Lottery Fund as part of the partnership project between Crystal Palace Park Trust and London Borough of Bromley.

The role provides administrative, logistics, and communications support as part of the team dealing with all aspects of membership and offers valuable exposure to a wide range of sustainability schemes. ISEAL supports sustainability standards and similar market-based sustainability systems to improve their impacts on people and planet. Its membership team is the key point of contact for aspiring new Community Members, subscribers and existing member organisations. The coordinator will be in contact with a diverse range of organisations working in sustainability, assisting in pitching and providing specialist services, as well as helping prospective Community Members to navigate the member application process. Additionally, the role will coordinate activities relating to members fulfilling the requirements of membership and will ensure accurate record keeping for services and member related processes.
To be considered for this role, you will be highly organised with great attention to detail and a committed approach to serving customers or stakeholders. You will enjoy working on a varied and changing set of tasks related to different areas of membership provision. Having gained a good level of work experience, you are familiar with process administration, customer service, stakeholder engagement and communications. You have an interest in learning more about member compliance processes and service provision. This role reports to two associate managers in the team, covering the different aspect of the role.
Key Responsibilities we will entrust you with:
Services and member prospecting
- Act as the first point of contact and respond to enquiries about ISEAL, services and membership
- Schedule and co-lead prospect calls, pitching relevant services from our portfolio, taking notes and supporting follow up actions
- Help member prospects understand the value of ISEAL membership and our services, and coordinate outreach to prospective members ahead of Community Member application windows
- Use and continually improve record-keeping systems, tracking customer relationships on Salesforce and support member/customer prospecting processes
- Coordinate the ISEAL Insight subscription, including proactively recruiting new customers and supporting existing relationships, tracking payments, and coordinating the delivery of the Insight programme of content
- Support delivery of ISEAL’s training courses, including coordinating promotions, registrations and event logistics
- Deliver administrative tasks to support ISEAL’s tailored services processes, including preparing service agreements on contract management system and managing payments
Membership applications and compliance programme
- Coordinate application process for aspiring Community Members, providing guidance throughout their application journey, addressing questions, supporting submission of materials, and managing completeness checks and comment periods.
- Liaise between prospects and compliance team to respond to questions regarding application process and requirements and maintain application log in Salesforce.
- Create and coordinate member compliance activities, including piloting process and external independent evaluation schedules
- With supervisor support, develop and maintain effective relationships with members, prospect members and evaluators in relation to the compliance programme and application process.
- Deliver administrative tasks to support the compliance programme and application process, including but not limited to scheduling calls, sourcing and maintaining evaluator records of competence and conflict of interest
- Maintain and track data across various platforms, updating tracking logs, and update web content on the ISEAL website.
- Coordinate information and produce reports and minutes in support of programme management, Membership Committee and strategic development of the compliance programme
- Contribute to systematic measurement and improvement of the compliance programme

- Assist in promoting best practice in use of IT, communications and knowledge management systems within projects, and support efforts to help bring about improvements

Experience, Knowledge and Attribute
- Experience working or interning in a support/administrative role, ideally in an international NGO, professional or membership organisation
- Some experience in a role focused on customer service/communications or user experience and genuine interest in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong organisational skills, with some experience with supporting administration, meeting coordination, logistics, contracts, proof-reading, communications, etc.
- Good time management and ability to organise multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently with precision and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written & spoken English, with proven ability to write clearly and concisely
- Confidence in communications with colleagues, customers and external partners, displaying professionalism and right level of tact and awareness of others
- Comfortable communicating with stakeholders in online and in person setting (e.g. webinars, workshops etc)
