We have an exciting new opportunity for a People Partner to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. We are flexible with regards to the location of this role, but you may need to travel to various locations across England, Wales, and Scotland as and when needed.
What you will be doing:
• Partner with respective Directorates and build strong, trusted relationships with managers to help improve people experience and to embed the Mencap culture
• Be the first point of contact in their Directorate for support, advice and challenge on people management, including Belonging, engagement and change
• Empower managers by signposting to relevant sources of information or teams
• Work with teams to understand any people management knowledge gaps and offer coaching and guidance as needed to deliver solutions and impact
• Advise and deliver People initiatives across the full range of the people experience, with support from the Strategic People Leads and other members of the People Leadership team. People initiatives will cover; organisational wide workforce planning (including volunteering), talent management, succession planning and the delivery of Belonging, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships across the People Directorate
• Be aligned with key people projects; rolling out activity in respective Directorates and providing feedback throughout development to ensure projects land with impact
• Use data and insight to drive improvements in people performance and experience
• Have an excellent understanding of people policy for colleagues and volunteers; applying this knowledge to advice
It is not essential to have previous experience within the Charity or Social Care sector. We are open to consider any background, but you must have experience of working in a People operational and/or advisory role. We will consider a broad range of People disciplines.
You must also have:
• Proven track record of building strong relationships and being successful in influencing stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational skills; with the ability to manage competing, and at times complex demands
• Data literate, with ability to interpret and share reports and KPIs
• Evidence of ensuring improving our people experience is at the heart of everything you do

Grants Manager-Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal

Salary: £40, 560 per annum.
Contract status: Full time to December 2025, with the potential to extend
The Ukraine Humanitarian appeal raised £439 million and helped an estimated 6.9 million people in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. The Grants Manager is integral in working closely with DEC colleagues and members to build and sustain, a solid understanding of the evolving humanitarian context. The Grants Manager will maintain strong oversight of the DEC funded programme including the reporting cycle, adaptive programming and facilitate strong and relevant engagement with DEC member charities and local partners and external briefings over the duration of the response.
Key responsibilities:
Communication and Collaboration
- Key programmes point of contact regarding the DEC funded programme, responding to enquiries from member charity programmes and other related staff, facilitating timely and accurate communication.
- Maintain strong understanding of response context.
- Manage and provide timely, response briefings to internal and external audiences, key stakeholders including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office [FCDO] and, other key stakeholders.
Analysis and Reporting
- Review, evaluate, and advise on member charity plans and reports for consistency, trends analysis and coherence of data across submitted documentation.
- Contribute to the review and analysis of plans and reports submitted by member charities in response to DEC appeals.
- Share timely and relevant information and analysis from plans and reports with DEC member charities and local partners.
- Manage external reporting requirements including preparation of stakeholder reports and infographics.
Management and Leadership
- Coordinate the team’s surge capacity to deliver points above, which may involve managing and inducting a team of external consultants and training them in the use of our knowledge management system [Box].
- Coordinate with the Programme Quality, Accountability & Learning team to ensure monitoring, learning and accountability initiatives are timely and appropriate to the response.
- Support with real-time reviews, community perception studies and other related MEAL activities.
If you have recently worked in any of DEC’s 15 member charities, and have demonstratable humanitarian experience of Ukraine, with the competence to prepare timely/accurate reports and deliver credible presentations to diverse audiences, then you will be perfect to join an incredible team and organisation.
We cannot predict the need for a future appeal, but should one occur during the contract for this role, the successful applicant may be asked to stay on for an extended period.

Overall Purpose
- To provide support and care to young people who are newly arrived in the country, providing the foundations for them to rebuild their strength, dignity and grow their hope for their futures.
- To partner with social workers and representatives from other agencies, for the benefit of the young people.
Duties & Responsibilities
- To be a key worker for a number of young people who are in the care of Baca, providing high quality holistic and therapeutic support for their transition to adulthood.

Baca is looking for a Support Worker who can join the support team and provide support, care and be a role model for young people who are newly arrived refugees and victims of trafficking aged 16 to 18. They will be motivated and passionate about the work that Baca does and the young people in our care.
The successful applicant will have the ability to ensure the support we give to the young people is of the highest quality and goes beyond the statutory standards set. They will be very approachable, reliable and a strong team worker. Someone who is supportive, approachable, responsible, reliable, personable and willing to be flexible. They will be a great people person who can develop key external relationships. They will also be a very organised and proactive individual. The successful applicant will need access to transport as the role requires visiting the young people in their homes and attending different appointments/meetings across the midlands. We are accountable and responsible for gathering, analysing, contributing, and mobilising evidence and insight to strengthen the case for dementia across the UK - bringing this to bear to our people in Alzheimer’s Society and the dementia system locally and nationally.
We are evidence and data-driven, factual, and solution-focused. Our strategic evidence base will ensure that Society’s decisions and interpretation of dementia and the system are based on the highest quality of dementia evidence and will:
• Demonstrate the scale of dementia in the UK
• Demonstrate the impact of dementia on the system and those affected by the disease
• Underpin the response of Alzheimer’s Society and the wider system to the big challenges dementia poses
As our Strategic Evidence Manager, you will have the responsibility of delivering the development and curation of our strategic evidence base and will play a significant role in our mission to make dementia the priority it needs to be.
You will lead a team of two Strategic Evidence Officers and work alongside a Health Economics Lead and a Dementia Data and Intelligence Lead. You’ll also be part of an even larger Evidence, Policy & Influencing (EP&I) function, which is laser-focused on ending the devastation of dementia through changing policy and an integral part of the EP&I Management Team. Integration and teamwork are everything in this role – with colleagues internally and with the system externally.
You will:
- Be an internal and external influencer, using your understanding of Alzheimer’s Society strategy and the external environment to manage the development, delivery, and curation of our strategic evidence-base.
- Deploy an integrated three-nations approach to our work, building consistency of approach and sharing of best practices while flexing to account for the different environments.
- Identify and recommend evidence gaps, including influencing for their fulfilment, spotting opportunities to generate and commission new evidence, and working in collaboration with external suppliers, and think tanks of academics.
- Make our strategic evidence base everyone’s business – to our people and key players in the dementia system.
- Inspire and motivate people towards shared objectives and goals, encouraging an environment where people can be themselves safely share their opinions and be able to listen and support others.

The Role:
Reporting to the CEO, the role will be responsible for managing all commercial and business functions for the Charity, (excluding Clink Events, our social enterprise which has its own business development function).

Key Responsibilities Include:
Commercial & Business Development:

Experience & Background Required:

Job Summary
Return Fundraising is looking for an experienced Data Manager to lead the team responsible for overseeing all data services within the business. In this role, you will ensure that data is collected, stored, processed, and reported accurately and efficiently to support exceptional telephone fundraising.
The Data Manager plays a critical role in data compliance, processing, and analysing client data. We are seeking an experienced manager to provide volunteering expertise and insight to enable significant income growth across the team.
This is a full-time, permanent role offering home working and flexible hours.
Position: CE333 Volunteer Manager
Location: Home-based, UK, Nationwide. However, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

The Role
This is an exciting role which will be crucial in driving our Regional Fundraising vision to be at the heart of our communities. We need an army of recognisable volunteers beside us in all our communities, empowered to drive lasting change for people affected by stroke and support our plans for income growth.
Your team will be proactively acquiring new volunteers through various products and propositions. Leading the design and delivery of a high value network of ‘business boards’ and testing new, innovative ways to enable our supporters to donate their time to us. To deliver this you will lead on specific projects, role and proposition design, reporting and planning, and work collaboratively with others across the team and wider Customer Experience directorate.
Reporting to the Relationships Lead you will lead your team (one direct report), coach members of the wider team and be a valuable member of the Regional Fundraising management team.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Develop and deliver new volunteer products and propositions
· Responsible for all volunteer experience across the Regional Fundraising Team including volunteer platforms and technology to support efficient and effective ways of working
· To ensure effective line management of the team.
· To provide coaching to support the development of volunteering with other members of the wider Regional Fundraising team
About You
We are looking for someone with a passion for volunteering and significant experience of project planning and problem solving. You will be driven to deliver excellent experiences for volunteers which support income delivery.
You will have experience of:
· Delivering targets with successful outcomes.
· Project planning and problem solving.
· Delivering formal presentations and public speaking.

Purpose of the job
