Mission:

Not Beyond Redemption was established by leading Family lawyer, Camilla Baldwin, to ensure that family law advice and representation is available not just to those who could afford it, but also to those who need it most. Maintaining a healthy and supportive relationship with family while in prison is crucial to reducing reoffending rates and improving rehabilitation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Executive Support:

• Manage the Founder’s inbox, draft and send emails on their behalf, and schedule appointments.
• Arrange and coordinate meetings for the Founder with internal and external parties.

Financial Management:

• Oversee online accountancy and manage payments through the online banking platform.
• Create cashflows and budgets to forecast income and expenditure, ensuring financial stability.
• Manage the relationship with the part-time accountant/bookkeeper, overseeing the production of annual accounts and reports.
• Handle organisational memberships and subscriptions (e.g., Information Commissioner’s Office, and Living Wage Foundation).

Operations Management:

• Organise monthly clinics at different prisons, coordinating with staff at prisons and partner law firms.
• Coordinate the remote clinics, ensuring that the clinics are staffed with volunteers.
• Arrange and coordinate staff travel arrangements.
• Conduct DBS checks for employees and volunteers.

Payroll Administration:

• Set up payroll online using Xero, which automatically generates monthly payroll, pension filings, and PAYE submissions.
• Process pensions and PAYE.

Fundraising Support:

• Collaborate with the Head of Fundraising to identify Charitable Trusts and Foundations for potential applications.
• Assist in drafting funding applications and meeting with Charitable Trusts and Foundations to secure donations.
• Provide updates for funders to communicate the impact of their support.
• Keep fundraising documents updated, including the application tracker, fundraising calendar, and donations spreadsheet.
• Manage donation processes, ensuring accurate recording, acknowledgement, and stewardship of donors.

Communications and Marketing:

• Manage and curate content for the organisation’s social media platforms.
• Design compelling marketing materials to promote the organisation’s initiatives, including the annual Impact Report.
• Ensure the website is up to date.

Trustees and Board Management:

• Act as the main point of contact for the board of trustees.
• Coordinate and manage Trustees' meetings, compiling board agendas and associated paperwork.
• Prepare minutes for Trustees’ meetings.
• Communicate with Trustees throughout the year to keep them updated on all activities.

Event Coordination:

• Plan and execute fundraising events and charity initiatives.
• Participate in networking or awareness-raising events, ensuring we have presentations and staff available.

Research and Data Analysis:

• Conduct ongoing research on maternal imprisonment to ensure up-to-date knowledge of statistics and trends.
• Send out questionnaires to clients to collect qualitative and quantitative research.
• Collect data from client feedback to assess our impact and identify areas for improvement.

About the team

Our London hub specialises in providing housing advice and emergency homelessness work, intensive support to families, people experiencing domestic abuse and people experiencing multiple disadvantage. We provide front line support to over 5,000 people a year and work to bring about systemic change with the ultimate aim of people being able to live securely in suitable, safe, affordable homes.

Based in Hackney, the East London Family Service supports families with complex needs, preventing homelessness and helping them to access safe and affordable homes. The team also support the community to address systemic issues that may prevent families from sustaining a home, providing targeted advice sessions in community settings, with the aim of building capacity within communities to campaign on housing issues.

About the role

As a Housing Rights Worker, you will deliver high quality housing advice and advocacy to families with the ultimate aim of helping them thrive in their communities. Your work will be in line with London Hub’s priorities of improving the practice of local authorities and Registered Social Landlords and focussing on households disproportionately affected by the housing emergency. Working alongside people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing to identify issues facing local communities you will deliver casework to families to resolve their housing situation as well as engaging with community groups, local organisations and individuals to understand the housing issues in East London and raise awareness of people’s rights.

In your community work you will ensure that people with lived experience of homelessness have opportunities to share their stories, give their views and have their say in the design and delivery of Shelter services. Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role.

About you

You will be able to work with individuals and communities including people with lived experience of homelessness. You will have experience and knowledge of housing and homelessness advice and advocacy as well as the ability to carry out casework related interviews, maintain detailed case records, advise and support your clients to make informed decisions. You have a strong track record of delivering group workshops and presentations and collaborate with others to get the job done.

This vacancy has arisen as the result of the retirement of our current Fundraising & Marketing Director in Spring 2025. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to take over this pivotal role within the charity.

Based across our two sites in North Weald and Earls Colne (Colchester), you will oversee the strategic management of our charity's fundraising, marketing, and communications. You will lead in the creation, development, and implementation of a range of revenue-focused strategies, and have overall accountability for a large team that generates the funds needed to keep the service operational. As a key member of our Executive Team, you'll collaborate closely with our CEO and other members to drive the delivery of our short, medium, and long-term goals.

Role responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of robust and diverse income generation and marketing strategies that meet both the current, and future, operational needs of the charity with a focus on lottery growth.
• Advise and support the CEO and Board on all fundraising and marketing matters.
• Develop and deliver income diversification plans.
• Lead the team in a positive and inspirational way to maximise all opportunities across our region.

What we’re looking for

You will have extensive fundraising experience in a compatible context, specifically across key areas of income generation. You must be target driven to achieve income objectives set. You will have appropriate qualifications or be qualified through experience in fundraising and marketing and/or communications.

We're seeking an applicant with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels. The ideal candidate will have experience working at a senior executive level, demonstrating sound judgement, political and commercial acumen, and exceptional planning and prioritisation skills. You must be resilient, target-focused, and capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines while delivering exceptional standards.

Home-Start is committed to promoting the welfare of families with young children to enable them to have the best start in life. We are recruiting a Family Support Coordinator to help us provide targeted, specialised support to families in Barnet, who could be struggling with any of a range of issues. This includes those with children under the age of 5, expecting parents who may be experiencing poor mental health or families with complex circumstances with children up to the age of 19.

Our Coordinators are integral members of the Home-Start team, as well as wider teams of professionals from universal and specialist services to provide a coordinated response to families’ needs. They assess need and carefully match volunteers with families. This may include instigating Early Help assessments and attending case planning meetings. 

Coordinators work with their own volunteer team, ensuring they are supported and fully trained to achieve the best outcomes for families and, in particular, the children. Coordinators work with families in their own home. They are skilled in recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns, be apt in completing strengths-based assessments and conversations. They also have a deep understanding of the issues families can face and the link with childhood development and difficulties they may experience later in life.

The post holder will build on our existing work and our relationships in Barnet, to deliver a volunteer-led home-visiting service and related activities to local families. This will require a good working knowledge of the borough, community partners and agencies. You will ideally be co-located in one of the community centres or community venues but will be required to travel around the borough regularly. Coordinators will allso participate in weekly family groups in each borough, based in the children's centres and family hubs.

We are recruiting a Coordinator for Barnet to cover a period of secondment until 31st March 2025. However, there may be an opportunity for this to be extended further subject to funding. The work is largely field-based, but will require regular days in the office which is in Finchley, Barnet.

We are seeking a Governance & Risk Officer to join the Governance Team reporting to the Head of Governance. 

You will provide high quality secretariat and governance support to a number of Council Committees and internal boards; and coordinate LSHTM’s risk management activities. You would develop working relationship with internal risk champions, LSHTM’s executive team and committee members and demonstrate attention to detail when reviewing and updating risk registers.

Understanding the strategic context that the Governance Team works within is key to success in this role, as is the ability to deal with a lot of information at pace, and to exercise good understanding and sound judgment when documenting decisions and reviewing risks. 

You should hold a qualification at a higher education level (or equivalent) with experience of coordinating risk management processes and producing risk related reports. You must be proactive with excellent organisational and drafting skills, take effective minutes and will be confident in engaging with a wide range of LSHTM Stakeholders and able to interpret complex and voluminous data to explain to non-experts and to draw out the salient points for minuting or inclusion in reports. The post is full-time, 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and permanent. 

The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 5 in the range £38,282 - £43,947 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. We are looking for someone both to deliver our immigration casework and to manage and develop our immigration advice services, including recruitment, line management & supervision of relevant staff and volunteers. The post holder will provide one-to-one legal immigration advice, casework and practical support to migrant and refugee clients in Brighton & Hove and Sussex in the areas of out-of-scope immigration and occasionally asylum work (up to OISC L2). You will also provide supervision for L1 and trainee staff and volunteer advisors as required. You will share the management of our broader advice & casework team, including generalist and resettlement casework, with our current generalist and resettlement managers.

You will be accredited to provide immigration advice at minimum OISC Level 2 and expected to carry a caseload of cases largely out of the scope of legal aid. For cases within scope you will make active referrals or signpost to legal aid providers wherever possible and practical.

Along with other managers you will lead on the development of our casework management system, AdvicePro, to ensure that agreed advice and organisational outcomes are embedded from the outset, and that staff and volunteers are trained and equipped to understand and provide these. You will be required to monitor and report against projects as needed by both funders and internally for e.g. the director and trustees.

You will be expected to participate in local networks and to participate and lead on conversations to develop immigration advice capacity in the city and region and to influence change and find solutions to the critical lack of immigration advice on the south coast.

You will have an awareness of clients’ holistic needs and be able to signpost and refer both internally and externally as appropriate to address needs including destitution; asylum support; children’s, family and adult social care; welfare benefits; housing & homelessness; access to mainstream and voluntary sector services including ESOL and employability, health and mental health care; and referrals into activities and services that can respond to people’s strengths and skills as well as their needs, including our own support groups and volunteering opportunities.

You will contribute to the senior management team of Voices, working closely with the Director, Head of Services, Generalist Advice Manager and Resettlement Manager to share oversight and reflections and planning of current operational needs and strategic planning.

You will be expected to contribute to broader learning and planning around developing our strategic plan and theory of change, including developing our work on the role of those with lived experience in our organisation.
We are currently the only free, L2-accredited, year-round provider of out-of-scope immigration advice on the South Coast, and increasing local immigration capacity is critical to address growing demand and changing demographics in the region. We are also seeing and will continue to see new arrivals and needs in the region over the next year and onwards including Hong Kong BNO nationals, Afghans resettled under the ARAP and ACRS schemes, EEA nationals who still have not registered for status, people required to transition to digital eVisas by 31st December 2024, and an increasing number of both newly arrived and established asylum seekers placed in emergency (‘contingency’) and dispersal Home Office accommodation.

Regular supervisions will be provided by the Director, as well as access to external training on specific issues where needed. However you will need to be ready to step immediately into a busy advice environment with the necessary confidence, skills and knowledge both to deliver a complex caseload and to manage a new team through an important moment in the growth of our advice and caseworker service.

The main purpose of this role is to deliver excellent customer service to our supporters from the beginning of their journey with Blood Cancer UK. About the role

Our Volunteer Experience Coordinators provide best practice guidance at a local level to Versus Arthritis volunteers. Over the next three years you’ll be supporting the growth and diversification of our volunteer force and introducing new sustainable products (including digital) and processes to support them.

In this role, you will focus on empowering our volunteers by ensuring they receive a high-quality experience through forging relationships with them and ensuring they have what they need to carry out their volunteer roles. For example, you’ll be triaging queries, inducting and supporting new volunteers, delivering workshops particularly around digital awareness and competency, and encouraging networking between volunteers.

As the Poppy Appeal Manager in Central London, your main role is to achieve income, expenditure, and contribution targets, ensuring the success of the appeal. Collaborating with the Regional Poppy Appeal Manager, you will create and manage an income and expenditure budget, providing monthly commentary. Your role also involves representing Royal British Legion locally, engaging in outreach activities, and providing updates to key stakeholders. Flexibility is essential, as some evenings, weekends, and overnight stays may be required. The successful candidate will embody the values of the Royal British Legion, demonstrating empathy with its mission and objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess commercial knowledge, financial management skills, and experience in supporter relationship management. Strong planning, organizational, and IT skills are necessary, as is the ability to assess the commercial implications of decisions. The role demands a team player who can engage with diverse client groups, showcasing effective communication skills both in writing and verbally.

Your key purpose will be to lead the Assistant Shop Manager and a team of volunteers to maximise sales, deliver excellent customer service and ensure that the shop premises and assets are maintained to a high standard, according to legal requirements and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) policies and procedures.

About you

This role requires experience of line managing employees, experience in managing a shop including knowledge of retail and health and safety legislation and administrative/cash handling experience.

You will also have an ability to deal with customers and maintaining a high level of customer service, have good verbal, written communication skills, as well as being comfortable using IT and EPOS reporting. You will have an ability to motivate yourself and others, have excellent organisational skills and be comfortable working  under pressure and dealing with changing priorities.
