The Role
The People Team are recruiting for an interim People Business Partner to support several directorates. This is an exciting time to join us as the team work to manage day to day activities and support the cultural transformation of the organisation in line with our new values.

About the role
As People Business Partner you will act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders in the assigned directorate(s), using a broad range of HR expertise and data insight to understand needs and advise on people initiatives that support the delivery of business plans . The role will be varied managing both day to day issues and longer term transformational work.

You will work in collaboration with the wider People and Culture function and areas of the organisation to deliver  effective, development, planning, implementation and embedding of people and culture projects, and organisational change.

You will play an integral role in the development and embedding of the People and Culture Strategy and associated workstreams and projects 

You will have opportunities to contribute to project work within the People team playing a key role in ensuring that our people practices are developed through effective collaboration with stakeholders and in line with our new corporate values.

 You will be a member of the extended management team within the People Team; helping to shape our plans to deliver most impact.

About you
This role will require a postholder who can partner confidently with senior leaders and identify opportunities for strategic interventions and collaboration. Someone who is experienced in employee relations, building relationships, creating momentum and positive change. You will have a person centred approach and be able to provide clarity and simplicity to complex matters.

You will have a solid background operating autonomously at Partner level and the ability to capitalise on wider organisational people and culture initiatives; bringing them to life locally and delivering tangible outcomes.

You will be skilled at coaching others to deliver the best outcomes and have demonstrable experience of providing credible advice on employment law, change management and best practice.

A background in partnering in the third sector would be a distinct advantage but not essential.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes at HMP Chelmsford. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

This role will be prison-based. Mentell is a UK charity that provides men’s groups, in-person and online for males aged 18+ to talk in a safe and confidential space, free from advice and judgement. We raise awareness of men’s mental health issues, suicide risk and support men through the challenges of life’s journey.

About the Role:

The Executive Assistant will be at the heart of the charity's activities, providing an efficient organisational hub around which the charity operates. Your key responsibilities will include coordinating diaries, managing meeting logistics, and handling agendas and minutes with precision. We have established a new office home in Stockport and are growing fast, building partnerships with social prescribers, GP practices and numerous other bodies as we seek to support as many men as possible.

We seek to significantly improve early access to information, advice and support for people seeking asylum and refugees in crisis and those seeking to integrate into the UK.

In December 2023, with consultancy support, we designed an exciting youth service strategy with a delivery model centred around children’s needs and with the vision for change on how separated children and young people are treated in their asylum journey by creating holistic casework, high-quality joined up relationships across the organisation, collaboration with local partners and supporters through learning and sharing best practice to transform their experience and bring systemic change.

Main duties and responsibilities

 Casework management -

• Oversee the casework service delivery by managing a potential high number of referrals colleagues in the regions and professionals effectively, by deciding eligibility for services, and providing timely, helpful, and legally accurate responses at all times.
• Line manages all casework advisers by supporting and enabling them to provide high quality information and advice support, and signposting to external specialist agencies in a sensitive, confidential, and professional manner.

Service development and delivery -

• Maintain high quality, current client records in accordance with organisational policies, funder requirements, and relevant legislation, and support advisers and volunteers to manage their data within the client database.
• Develop and maintain excellent professional relationships with a range of practitioners including local authority social workers, managers, legal representatives, health and education professionals and voluntary sector agencies, referring children who are age disputed to other agencies where it is in the best interests of the child.

As such, the post holder must be an expert in the delivery of restricted-funded programming and in particular in the ways of working of FCDO as a donor, and have the ability to influence senior donor counterparts. The Role 

Reporting to the Shop Manager, as our Deputy Shop Manager you will lead a team of volunteers to raise funds invest in achieving the charity’s goal to save lives in Yorkshire and portray the charity as a professional, credible brand which acts with integrity. You will also Provide excellent customer service, ensuring volunteers, donors and customers know how their contribution is helping the people of Yorkshire.

Specifically, you will: 

• Play an active part in running our shop in Richmond, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.

• Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity. 

• Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation. 

• Manage the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager. 

• Manage a team of well-trained volunteers in the absence of the Shop Manager and take every effort to create a happy retail environment. 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes.

About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need:

This role is part of the Wiltshire Adult Domestic Abuse Team, which provides support to people and their families who have been impacted by domestic abuse.

Working within the team, you will work directly with victims of domestic abuse, providing them with support and educational sessions to increase their safety and the safety of any of their children.

Offering support to standard to medium risk victims of domestic abuse, key tasks will include:

• To provide high quality, person centred, trauma informed support to people impacted by domestic abuse.
• Being part of a team providing a whole family approach.
• Support people to increase their personal safety.
• Support people’s personal empowerment to take control of their lives.
• Undertaking risk assessments and collaboratively developing safety plans.
• Give practical and emotional support to families who are experiencing domestic abuse in the community.
• Deliver and facilitate groups for people impacted by domestic abuse, including the Inspiring Families Course (including evening delivery where required).

You will work closely with Children’s Social Care, offering professional consultation regarding domestic abuse cases and attending team meetings where required. You will work closely with local Social Workers to increase the safety and stabilisation of people, by offering specialist domestic abuse educational sessions to the non-abusing parent, either in a one-to-one or group setting.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide a high-quality, person centred, trauma informed service and empowerment to those who need it.
• Manage a caseload of standard to medium risk cases, providing virtual and face to face support.
• Complete an initial assessment of individuals’ and families' needs with corresponding support plans to meet these needs so, preventing escalation of difficulties.
• Triage new referrals, ensuring comprehensive safety and safeguarding advice and guidance on initial contact.
• Undertake regular caseload review meetings with individuals and families during home and community visits to ensure they are fully supported to meet their personal goals.
• Be responsible for running groups, adhering to a clear manual and supporting second facilitators.
• Complete pre and post group assessments.
• Attend regular meetings with Children’s Social Care and offer professional consultation to Social Workers regarding cases involving domestic abuse.
• Assess, manage and review risks to service users, colleagues and self, including the use of the DASH Risk Assessment, and professional judgement.
• Attend Children’s Social Care multi-agency meetings such as child protection conferences and core groups, offering your professional perspective and provide written reports for Child Protection proceedings.
• Work with colleagues, health and social care professionals and multi-agency networks to evaluate caseload needs.
• Improve parents' understanding of the impact of Domestic Abuse on their child(ren) and work with the parent to provide continued support to their child(ren).
• Ensure personal safety and that of service users and other staff at all times.
• Respond to emergencies and crises including access to places of safety.
• Plan and implement activities to promote self-awareness, confidence and participation for service users.
• Enable service users to participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of services.
• Utilise evaluation and monitoring systems to ensure high standards of service are consistently achieved e.g. Insights and Orchards Database.
• Assist clients in attending legal and other appointments where necessary.
• Ensure support provided is accessible to clients in terms of location and times.
• Facilitate and deliver group work to people impacted by domestic abuse, including evening groups on a rota basis.

• Remain up to date and concordant with organisational procedures, policies and professional code of conduct, upholding standards of best practice.

About the role

The Senior People Advisor works within the People and Culture team to provide staff with advisory support across the whole employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding and ongoing HR support, which reflects and highlights our organisational culture and values. The role is supported by the People team who operate across the globe and work collaboratively to ensure our culture, people and processes are well aligned. The role will lead on providing advice on employee relations issues to all employees and people managers in their regions.

You will also ensure that staff who are hired and/or paid through PEOs receive the same positive, welcoming and nurturing experience as staff who are employed directly by Sunrise.

You will work closely with the Learning and Development Director and People and Culture team to assist in the design and delivery of areas that drive culture and transformation across Sunrise. This will include overseeing and utilizing our LMS system and supporting leadership development, JEDI, core compliance related areas and any other areas identified as part of learning needs analysis. You will also support the evaluation of our programmes, tools and techniques for delivering learning.

The role will also lead on developing the curriculum for our organisation wide onboarding programme and materials.

Key Responsibilities

Provide generalist people support that will include areas such as:

• Employee/industrial relations - providing support, advice and guidance on a range of issues including conflict management and working with and escalating when required to our people and culture lead(s)
• Providing onboarding support and coordinating issue of contracts and any updates to employment for specific for regions that you support
• Providing local hiring support working with the Hiring Advisor as needed, this may include coordination support, quality assuring our process and providing advice to hiring managers.

Managing communications between PEOs and Sunrise and their HR leads for Europe based staff (Remote, Safeguard,Velocity) with some support for North American based staff including:

• Facilitating employee life cycle to facilitate pre-boarding, payroll changes, onboarding and offboarding including exit interviews.
• Providing the PEO with guidance and updates on employee relations issues e.g. performance management, grievances, workplace health & safety, etc. by investigating issues, evaluating potential solutions and assisting in implementing agreed-upon actions via the PEO.
• Working with PEO’s to seek advice and expertise on labour law legislation and related risks, to ensure that alignment between Sunrise and PEO HR practices is balanced with compliance to local legislation.

Learning and Development

• Work with the Director of Learning and Development and People and Culture Leads to design, deliver and implement opportunities that are aligned with learning needs
• Work with Managers to regularly evaluate learning needs analysis and seeking input from L&D Director to design solutions where appropriate
• Support with sourcing, design and delivery of compliance related resources and learning for the organisation
• Utilize our learning management system to support learning activities and development and maintenance of the LMS
• Oversee and develop our approach to onboarding globally and lead on the design and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring regular updates are made as we grow
• Evaluate the effectiveness of learning activities working with the L&D Director to develop a consistent framework

Other

• Leads and/or participates in HR-operational related projects, e.g. Intranet, HRIS, program reviews, etc
• Works with P&C Leads to provide relevant data and reports for board and organisation reporting

Required skills, knowledge and experience

• A working knowledge of, and experience in a people advisory role, in particular contemporary HR practices and related regulatory/compliance requirements.
• Prior experience (equivalent to 5 years of experience) and success in designing and delivering learning interventions with experience of remote content design and delivery.
• Knowledge of and experience of applying learning theories and best practices
• Experience of managing commercial partnerships and relationships with third party suppliers
• Experience of designing and delivering learning experiences globally taking into consideration JEDI and cultural differences.
• Experience of using learning technologies, learning management systems and/or virtual learning environments.
• A high level of emotional intelligence, with advanced communications and engagement skills (rapport building, influencing and trust building).
• Advanced level organisational, time management and administrative skills. Operational focussed project management experience, including competence in using project management tools (ideally Asana, or similar)
